Chapter 10: Accepting The Dwanivit
“They’ve gotta be around here somewhere!” Upo shouted. “Stop lazing around, ya layabouts!!” His 2 men ran around in a hurry, frantically dashing through the forest in fear.“I get the captain wants to get back at those little kids but isn’t this taking it too far?” one of the guards murmured. “What do you mean?”The guard stopped and put his back against a tree. “Stupid. Did you forget that we aren’t supposed to be leaving the city?! I know you’re new here but come on! Have some common sense!” The other guard scratched his head, apologizing. “Besides… out of all the places we’re not supposed to go, this is the most dangerous. Haven’t you heard the story of the missing dwarves who used to be sent here and banished?” “B-But I thought it was all just a children’s story!” the other guard exclaimed, looking around to his sides worried.“Of course not! They say a dark presence lives here in the Weeping Forest. Any trespassing would disappear without a trace. But Captain Upo… Argh, he’s

Chapter 11: Sanctum Chamber Emergence [Part 1]
A week had passed since the boys had first begun their training with the entity. They hadn’t made much progress since. The concept of Sanctum Pressure and the Chamber system was still a mystery to them. – "AHHGGHHH?!?!?!?!" Jace screamed in frustration, furiously scratching his head. "Why can't I get it right?!?!?!?" Aleximus ignored him, staring at his palm with intense focus. That feeling… He recalled, thinking back to when he had forced the rocks to fall on Hatagi after their momentary suspension in the air. If I could just access that feeling again… He sighed quietly and stood. "Come on dummy." He beckoned Jace over as he stood making his way into the forest. Jace raised his brow in surprise. "You wanna go again? Aren't you pushing yourself too hard?" He walked on. "You idiot. It's precisely why I'm going back. We only have a few more weeks until the Dwanivit competition. We still don't know what Hidemi's training entails and worse, we can't grasp Sanctum energy

Chapter 12: Sanctum Chamber Release [Part 2]
[Jacender's Mind]Jace didn't know how to respond. No…He couldn't. Too many questions flooded his head at once. They needed to be quieted so he could think straight. He took a step backwards, preparing to run. "I wouldn't recommend that, Jacender." Runnulf spoke to him. He couldn't have been more than 40. His body was practically 20 years old and his voice was soothing to hear. "Stop calling me that. I still don't know who you are!" Jace snapped at him. Runnulf smiled warmly, walking towards him. "S-Stay back!!" Jace warned, backing up to the double doors. Runnulf ignored him, getting closer to him.Jace's heart thumped in his chest. What do I do?! Where do I go!?Runnulf extended his arm slowly.Jace flinched, bracing himself."Hm? What's the matter? You scared?" Runnulf smiled, ruffling Jace's hair. A warm feeling of protection flowed into Jace's body, making him blush slightly. "G-Get off of me!" He told him, brushing off Runnulf's hand. "Where am I? And who really are y

Chapter 13: Day Of The Dwanivit
[Weeping Forest- Entity’s Den] “We haven’t time to waste. Your first lesson will be mastering the Codex’s most basic and powerful ability.” Nahasch told him “What is it?” “Structural Change.” Jace looked clueless. Nahasch released a small sigh from the snake. "The ability to change the structure or bonds of any material or magic. "It was used by your ancestor to seal away a fearsome clan long ago during warring times." "My ancestor?" "You will start off small," Nahasch spoke, ignoring him. "In front of you, I have set your table up. You shall first learn about Sanctum Categories." Categories? Jace looked ahead, on a small table were 3 empty cups sitting there. 2 regular ones and a broken one. "W-Wait!" He fussed, "Where is Aleximus? Plus I don't even know anything about Sanctum power yet! " "Interesting. You mean the Axis Sealers didn't teach you?" Jace looked away, guilty.. Well I was preoccupied with not dying ya bastard. "Very well." Nahach spoke. "Every b

CHAPTER 14: Unwavering Determination
[Ivan Murong’s Cell]Ivan sat against a wall, staring up into the ceiling. He brooded in deep thought, thinking of his wife. Her beautiful smile. Her long green hair, accompanied by her enchanting eyes. He thought about the day he first met her.It had been sunny, no signs of rain to stop the trade deal that Ivan had planned. This was one of the first deals he had done since opening up Dwarven resources to humankind. He remembered the rain falling down, wetting both their outfits as they both blushed. She had been the first to make a move, kissing him under the moonlight. A single tear rolled down his face. “Gwentyn…”“Fufufu!” A voice echoed through the cell, interrupting his sadness. He whipped his head straight in front of him where Banderd stood on the outside of the cell, smiling. “What do you want?” Ivan looked down, refusing to give Banderd the respect of eye contact. “Hmph. I just came to see my precious younger brother on his last day and give you some reassurance.” Bande

Chapter 15: Silence And Understanding [1]
[FLASHBACK]A younger Hidemi looked at the sky, letting his mind wander. The clouds would often amuse him, captivating his attention by drifting around the horizon. “Those clouds must be happy!” he would think. Being able to go, do, and be anywhere they exist, whenever they wanted. He envied their freedom. He felt a pressure on his shoulders. Turning around to see, he was met with the eyes of his father, Ivan. He watched Ivan mouth some words and then smile, grabbing his hand. Hidemi gave a smile, standing up, and following his father. …Now home, Hidemi’s eyes were focused on the forge that quietly heated up with each passing second. His father removed his robe, now in his tank top and hair tied up, he grabbed his hammer. Hidemi watched Ivan’s movements. Each strike, each thundering pound and chip at the material. The movements seemed complex. Every time the hammer came down, instead of remaining heated, the small bursts of Sanctum pressure Ivan released would cool it down enough

Chapter 16: Day Of The Dwanivit [3]
[Ivan Murong’s Cell]Ivan stared upwards towards his ceiling, back leaned against the wall and listened intently to the crowd’s jubilant cheers. It’s… Quite lively up there. Was his initial thought. And then came his second which he spoke aloud. "I hope you're doing well Hidemi. Good luck." …[Dwanivit Testing Grounds]The participants were off to a raging start, each one grabbing at their hammers and using the tip ends to strike away at the pillar. It wasn't long before several great shining objects revealed themselves."Ah!!" One kid yelled, ecstatic at his discovery. In front of him, the mineral he dug out glared a bright green."Hm? Well it seems we've gotten our first Anomalous Sanctum iron! An Odar!!" Banderd commentated, raising his voice to attract the crowd's interest. The grounds burst into a deafening roar."WOAHHHHHH!!!!""GOOD GOING!!! KEEP IT UP!!!""MY BABYYYYY!!!!"Several words of commendation were thrown at the young man. He smirked in happiness, running off toward

Chapter 17: Day Of The Dwanivit [4]
[One Hour Ago]Aleximus handed Hidemi the slab of iron he removed from his bag. "Let's get to work!" Hidemi looked confused, taking the metal and feeling it's surface. "The snake gave it to me." Aleximus said, as if reading the boy's expression. "I was told to give it to you as soon as we made it into the city. I need you to make me a sword.""Huh?!" Jace exclaimed, "No fair! Why do you get to have a sword?!" "Obviously because I'm better than you, che." Jace's face burned red with annoyance. "I heard Dwarves use something called Sanctum-Smithing right? You can imbue an object with Sanctum energy depending on your proficiency and level, making that object as high a level as your energy can dish out. Or am I wrong?" Aleximus asked him, ignoring Jace's pouts.Hidemi nodded, grasping the material with a firmer resolution. "Can you do this?" Aleximus raised a brow."MHMPH!" Hidemi nodded, nodding again. He grabbed at his hammer, laying the metal down on a table and prepping. "What ar

[Cheiftan's Table] "Y-You…" Banderd whispered. "What were you thinking standing out in public like that?! You could've been seen--" "Oh shut up!" A man barked at him, pushing Banderd down on a nearby table. It was Mercurius. He seemed peeved, as if his mind was occupied with something else. "Have some backbone man. Jeez you're a buzzkill." Mercurius sat, brushing his hair back as he stared at Banderd unimpressed.Tsk. This is why I hate humans. Banderd thought.Mercurius leaned in, clasping his hands together. "Do you have it?" "Of course I do." Banderd muttered. "Follow me."Mercurius stood. I've gotta hurry this up. The lieutenant is checking out that strange presence I felt last time but even he won't be able to get answers from that thing. He referred to Nahasch. He wasn't afraid of him, but still, his senses as a warrior warned him against rash actions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 19: Day Of The Dwanivit [6]
[Present Time]“It’s none of your business.” Banderd said again, opening his eyes. He stared down at his cane melancholy for a moment.“Regretful?” Mercurius smirked, cocking his head to get a better look at Banderd’s expression. “Not in the least.” Banderd pushed past him, kneeling in front of the Zongo Fluorite and extending his hand behind him towards Mercurius. “Hand me your Universe Ring.” Mercurius’s smile faded slowly from his face, exhaling with annoyance that Banderd hadn’t given him the reaction he seeked. “Here,” He said, revealing a small ring inside of his coat. Its design was peculiar. 5 intersecting rings looped around and met in the middle, leaving space for a finger to go through. “You know, I’ve gotta hand it to your brother.” Mercurius whistled, watching Banderd take the ring and hold it over the minerals. “Creating something like this isn’t an easy feat by any means, hehe. A ring that holds a near infinite amount of storage, eh? He’s quite the thinker, that one.
