The silence that followed after her confession was enough to drown a full grown man and nothing a sign of his ever being there would be seen.

Sarah made no attempt to intrude in his silent moments of thoughts as deafening as it was for her to bear.

She almost sighed with relief when he finally spoke but at the same time, she felt she could have endured the deafening silence even longer if it meant avoiding answering any of his questions but it was too late for that now.
