Gary was walking next to her, and he saw that phone. Snorting coldly, he sneered. "We're about to leave, and he doesn't even want to come see us off!"

He had not named the subject in his words, but Larissa knew who he was complaining about. She flipped the phone over, and the screen lit up because of her actions—there was still no word from him. Larissa pressed her lips tightly together, and the empty hole in her heart felt cold.
