Chapter 41
Arwin chuckled under her breath and remarked, “This is truly wonderful, Gloin.” She was in awe as she looked at the exquisite designs, and there was a new barrel added to her gun. The long barrel was added to improve Arwin’s accuracy and that there would be less recoil. Arwin wanted to test the gun out, so she aimed directly at Gloin; Gloin chuckled nervously, “Hey, be careful where you’re pointing that thing! It’s dangerous-“ Before Gloin could finish, Arwin pulled the trigger shooting at the apple right behind Gloin. Gloin was in shock as he felt the bullet pass by his face. Just two centimeters away from it, but it was an insanely accurate shot- one wrong move, and he would’ve died. He looked back at Arwin, seeing no trace of worry in Arwin’s face. She smirked, “Well, it’s accurate, all right.” Gloin turned around to look where Arwin shot, and then he saw Mark. He grabbed the apple and took a bite, and he remarked, “Now, don’t get too excited and s

Chapter 42
“A terrible bargain.” Timothy remarked while he threatened the witch, “Now, you must have a death wish messing with Arwin.” The witch coughed up blood when suddenly her skin started to crack like the mirror; the wrinkles on her skin became more visible; her white eyes began to bleed. Timothy’s wife, Rosa, entered the tent as well, and she didn't seem to be surprised as she stated, “This witch is bound to the mirror; that’s how she was able to trap Arwin in that nightmare world.” Rosa covered the shattered pieces of glasses with the tablecloth and continued, “It’s too late for her; she’s going to die.” Arwin shifted her gaze at Rosa, who is now showing her distaste for Arwin; she didn't even try to hide it, so Arwin smirked, “You seem to know a lot about witches.” “I grew up in a house of one.” “Ah, and you don’t seem to like me either.” Arwin remarked, making Rosa look at her, and replied straightforwardly, “Yeah, let’s just say I don’t like t

Chapter 43
As the darkness consumed the night sky and the stars started to shine brighter tonight like if it was mocking Arwin. She hated the stars but instead, the darkness and the moon mesmerized her. She heard the fluttering wings of a raven when it did fly to her window; she suddenly remembered what the witch said earlier that day. The raven had black plumage, beak, and legs. Legend says that ravens came from the primordial darkness bearing immense magic when awakened. Arwin caressed the raven as it slyly struts as if it was seducing or intimidating Arwin; she smirked as she whispered out, “Bad omen and death, huh? I see ravens as cunning and intelligent instead.” She watched the raven when it flew away, and she scoffed, “But alone.” Arwin closed her windows and checked on the raven totem that the guild master gave her before; it wasn’t glowing as it did before, so she thought to herself, ‘Well, the guild master did say that it was a faulty totem anyways. Chapter 44
The next morning, everyone was up early, Mark was honing his skills in throwing the needles- he has to make sure he won’t kill anyone. The doctor was prepping some of Mark’s needles by dipping them onto his sleeping potion. Timothy was tending Rosa as he makes mental notes of their plan- he keeps playing different scenarios in his head as they went ahead with their plan. Arwin, on the other hand, had one thing in mind: her ship, the Night Rose. As the sun started to set, and the people were starting to go home, they began their heist. Everyone was in position, and Gloin would serve as everyone’s signal. Gloin was just at the dark alley corner of the guild as he started lighting up some explosives as it began to tear up the huge wall there. The guild members immediately confronted Gloin. They were ready to beat him up. Rosa was subtly passing by and called the officers, “I would like to report a crime. Yes, I’m currently located in this guild. Can you hurry up, please

Chapter 45
The doctor was rummaging through his medical supplies with a sense of panic as Timothy lost a lot of blood. Mark gently patted the doctor’s back and said, “Calm down, doc, we won’t lose him.” Mark instructed Rosa to put pressure on the wound. The doctor soon gained his composure as he treated Timothy’s wounds; the doctor suggested, “We need to land in a nearby town; at this rate, he’ll die, Arwin.” “But we can’t!” Gloin protested, “They’ll catch up to us, and we’re ALL dead!" Rosa pushed Gloin in anger and said, “Are you suggesting we let Timothy die?! You pathetic selfish dwarf!” “Who’s really selfish between us, Rosa? It’s all your fault that Timothy’s dying! You didn’t trust Arwin and called Silas to help you out if all fails! You know full well that Silas wouldn’t take it happily that you betrayed him!” Gloin replied The doctor and Mark were infuriated with Rosa, “You did what?! You contacted Silas?” “I only did that because what a

Chapter 46
The next day came; Mark woke Arwin up, saying in a mocking manner, “Breakfast is ready, princess.” Arwin pulled Mark in and sat on top of him; Arwin smirks, “Next time you’re planning to mock me, you better be ready for the consequences.” Mark was blushing, but he looked away and shoved Arwin out of the way as he stood up, “A-anyways, wake up, we’re all eating.” He immediately left, which made Arwin chuckles softly as she muttered to herself, “Ah, so innocent and cute as always.” Arwin comes down to see everyone waiting for her at the dinner table; she felt nostalgic as the scenery reminded her of a distant memory she had. It was her crew members from Night Rose's first meal together with her crewmates who weren't exactly ideal members- they were scavengers, hunters, and rascals, so a meal together meant a lot to them. Arwin caught herself smiling at the mirror in front of her as she reminisced about the past. Gloin took all of his blacksmith

Chapter 47
Meanwhile, back at Tarra’s house, Timothy had regained his consciousness; he groaned out, “Rosa?” Rosa enthusiastically rushed to Timothy’s side and hugged him, “Never do that again to me, Timothy.” “I’m sorry.” Timothy chuckled as he weakly tried to sit up, “Where’s everyone? Where are we?” “Settle down. We’re safe here for now.” Rosa tried to explain the rest to Timothy as she fed him. Timothy processed everything and finally said, chuckling softly, “So we made it? We’re out of that village after all.” “Yeah. Yeah, we did.” “This isn’t too shabby.” Timothy remarks as he looked around, “We could live here and have kids.” Rosa giggled as she replied, “Yeah, maybe, but first, you have to be okay.” She continued as Timothy finished his food, “I’ll tell them you’re awake.” Back at the town, Arwin was told she was in the presence of the eldest shaman in their place. Sitting before her was a man called Ruben; he had long white hair

Chapter 48
Arwin smiled as she saw Timothy; she remarked, “Good to see you on your feet again, Timothy.” Gloin invited Arwin to dinner as he said, “In celebration of hell rejecting Timothy’s application, Rosa cooked us another fine meal! Mark caught some fine pigs lost in the forest.” This caught Arwin off guard; she asked, “In the forest?” “What? Are you deaf now or something?” Mark mocked Arwin, so Arwin laughed awkwardly and tried to change the topic, “So… what are your plans after fixing the ship?” “Hmm, Rosa and I might find a place to settle down, but for now, I guess we could stay here, lay low a little, you know?” Timothy replied, stuffing his mouth with some pork belly, causing everyone to have a good laugh. Gloin replied as well, “Yeah, I guess we can stay here for a while. It’s not that bad staying here with you weirdos.” “Look who’s talking!” The doctor laughed as he continued, “But I agree; I’m planning to stay awhile to learn more f

Chapter 49
Arwin sneaked out through the window to avoid everyone, but as she started to walk towards the forest, a familiar voice stopped her saying, “Where do you think you’re going, captain?” She turned around and was surprised to see Rosa and Timothy heavily armed; she asked, “Where are you going?” Rosa asks, “Where do you think?” Timothy chuckled as he continued, “We’re going to the restricted forest with you. We can’t really let our captain die out there, can we?” “How did you-“ Arwin continued, “Did Mark tell you?” From the corner of the house, Mark showed himself and said as he yawns, “Hey, don’t go blaming others. Apparently, Rosa heard our conversation last night, and she went ahead telling everyone your plan, and well, now, everyone’s coming with you.” The doctor added, “You did say it had riches and golds.” Everyone was laughing when suddenly Gloin gave Arwin a breastplate; Gloin explained, “I took your raven necklace and turn

Chapter 50
Arwin walked further in the forest, the rest of the crew started to feel a little off – like a tingling sensation of nostalgia that they can’t exactly point out. Arwin tried to keep her focus as she navigated through the trees marking them with a sigil to remember the path they just took. To everyone’s surprise, Rosa halted and said, “Everybody stop, don’t move.” “Why Rosa? What’s the matter?” Timothy worriedly asked, remaining where he was as instructed. Rosa explained, “This forest. It’s changing- as if it’s adapting to our fears and past continuously sucking us deeper. It knows what makes us tick, and it’s using it to its advantage.” “What do you mean?” Arwin asks “Quick, what do you see?” Rosa asked from everyone. Timothy was the first one who replied, “A… forest and it- it’s snowing.” Arwin was next, “A forest…filled with the people…I killed.” There was a brief silence, but then, Rosa asked Gloin, and Gloin replied while t
