Chapter 171: Returning to Samuel's memory. Entering the School of Magics
Mon'Ter and Leonidas roamed further amidst the memories, wondering what the next one might be."Maybe we'll see them working in the midst of it? Or how the sword was completed?" Mon'Ter mused whilst walking along the path of flickering lights. "Could be something else too, maybe the first time Ely got to use it?""Nah," Leonidas shook his head, "considering we skipped over Sammy, I'm willing to bet we'll go back to his point of view for the next memory," he spoke with certainty, though he didn't particularly care about these memories as much as he did of the ones which involved himself and those two. Those were the best to reminisce with."Hmmm, let's see then," Mon'Ter nodded and they reached the following memory, a not too hard endeavor considering they're barely moved since the previous one.Slowly, the scenery revealed itself anew. It was a grand hallway leading further into a glamourous building, the size of the hallway alone was huge, and at the end

Chapter 172: A short talk with the director
“Director Gandar Livian is waiting for you inside, he’s also doing some paperwork but please don’t inquire about it,” Joline said as she pointed to the door.“I will be mindful of that,” Samuel smiled her way, then walked up the door, knocking thrice until he heard a voice from within.“Come in,” Gandar said, sounding busy just from the tone of voice he emitted. It sounded annoyed, tired.“Excuse me,” Samuel replied, opening the tall door and moving on inside. The person that greeted him from within was a rather old fellow, too old, honestly. He had a wrinkly face that practically hid his eyes, and a beard so long it was practically a wool woven sheath covering his frame. Almost like a mask, even.“Who’s that guy?” Mon’Ter thought he would ask Leonidas.“Ah… Right, that cranky old idiot,” Leonidas sighed. “Well, here he’s the director

Chapter 173: The Silent Wind is Forged
"So, I guess I've seen one of our to be enemies?" Mon'Ter mused, tilting his head at Leonidas."More or less," the elderly knight nodded at him."But he seemed so nice though..." Mon'Ter argued. “I dunno, I feel conflicted seeing my friends being friendly with people they now consider as the enemy.”"In situations like this, character is often unimportant. What matters is the side you stand by," Leonidas shook his head.“But that’s just sad…” Mon’Ter felt his chin lower. “What I’m getting from this is that all that has been going on is friendships getting ruined…”"It's a sad truth, but we all fight for what we believe in, even if it is in complete opposition to another person's beliefs," Leonidas hoped to explain.“I don’t like that, I don’t like that at all,” Mon’Ter crossed his arms.“The world doesn’t care about your opini

Chapter 174: Memory of a Terrible News
"Well," Mon'Ter began. "The short man certainly gives good advice if anything, that's for sure.""Korgen is wise when he tries," Leonidas shrugged. "That daft idiot knows more than anyone about being arrogant and where that can get you, certainly, I mean the short ass is arrogant on his own. Remember the sign above his door? Can't say I know a more prideful guy than that one.""Yeah, definitely a tad arrogant I'd say," Mon'Ter nodded whilst he smiled slightly. "But, it did seem like Ely liked him.""Of course she likes em," Leonidas crossed his arms whilst speaking. "He's single handedly been responsible for spoiling both of Elduin's kids! Elyenora and Aydian both spent loads of time with the dwarf... I'm honestly jealous! He was with them on both of their first times of drinking alcohol! He bloody initiated it for them! I wanted to be there for that too damn it! Ugh!" he grumbled, almost seeming like he wanted to tear out his own hair at the thought. This was d

Chapter 175: Memory of a Saddened Princess
After no more than a few paces forth, Mon'Ter and Leonidas were dragged into the next memory, the day right after Elyenora had found out. By this point, the news was circulating across the entire capital city of Banul, and nearly everyone debated what would be happening now that king Elduin had passed away. This memory which followed was not any more pleasant than the former. Perhaps, it was even more gray than its predecessor. A sickly feeling wretched the guts of both the memory viewers, and they could feel pits getting emptied in their stomach from the sheer depression surrounding them. Whatever she was feeling, it was quite obvious that this moment in time was a memory which Elyenora hated with all her being.Mon’Ter and Leonidas found themselves in a room together with Elyenora, she wasn't standing, much less sitting. The princess had tucked herself deep in her covers, hiding from sight and hoping to be out of mind. Though she could never escape her own mind

Chapter 176: The Funeral of a Fake Death
When Mon'Ter and Leonidas reached the void again, Mon'Ter felt himself become a lot calmer than before. "Sam is... Really good," he mumbled out with thoughts of the previous memory. During it, he didn't dare interrupt or speak, he only watched as the young man did his thing and made Elyenora feel ever so slightly better than before. He helped her heal not by talking to her about the tragedy but by being there for her, it was certainly a thing that the Chimera could admire. A thing he could learn. "Aye, that kid sure is amazing," Leonidas grinned as he spoke, crossing his arms before continuing. "He's talented at lots of things, that's for sure, and I sure am glad he and Ely are on such good terms. It brings joy to me as a grandfather, you know?" "I think so," Mon'Ter replied. "I too am happy that my friends are on good terms, so, maybe that's similar?" he mused on it, though he wasn't quite certain whether being a friend and being a grandfather had anything in common

Chapter 177: Elyenora sends off her father.
"I think that about confirms it," Leonidas spoke with his arms crossed. "He doesn't know about Elduin being alive, and is genuinely disturbed by it. Looking at him now from an outside point of view like this, makes it awfully obvious." "Yeah," Mon'Ter nodded. "Though, what worries me is his thought process... I think it probably has something to do with why he's causing such a ruckus in the current time." "More than likely," Leonidas sighed, scratching the back of his head. "I'll talk to him in the real world when I see him. That may honestly be the most important thing of the upcoming events that still need to play out." "Agreed," Mon'Ter said. “Aydian needs a talk to, I have my doubts whether we actually have to kill him or even fight him for that matter. Things might be resolved a lot easier with him if we played it out right. He might even help against the dragon cult?” “Potentially,” Leonidas nodded. “Though there’s also the concern that he’s inf

Chapter 178: Memory of when Aydian called Elyenora over for a talk
Everyone gazed at Elyenora with wonder in their eyes, her sudden proclamation enamored them. With this, they knew. She had certainly inherited the will of her father, the will of Benulis’ ruler. A will which for them, was the one most desired for inheritance. Immediately they ruptured in a round of applause for her words, if anything, to encourage her on the path she is choosing to follow. And as she honorably watched them do so, raising her hand to the air for further facilitation of her claim. Mon’Ter couldn’t help but see nothing except pain in her eyes. Even if she’d forced out a smile for the nobility around her, it couldn’t be said to be anything other than a facade to show how ‘strong’ she was. To show she was ready to uphold her words, to send off her father in the proper way. Even if in her mind, she still felt weak over it. Her body could move accordingly. Her voice could thunder powerfully. Her figure could continue to stand tall, and she could continue to grow un

Chapter 179: Aydian's Lunacy
Elyenora halted her stride and stared at the prince whose eyes had gone from crazed to mellow, they weren’t the eyes of someone mad but someone who hated the feelings surging up from within him. Those strikes of red across the whites… Could he have been crying? “What are you talking about…?” Elyenora gulped down on her saliva as she asked, watching Aydian intently for every movement he did. “You’re blind, sister! You’re so blind that it makes me want to hurl!” the prince clenched his fists and ground his teeth. Unimpeded, he waltzed over straight toward the princess. “Hey, wait a minute!” Samuel shot up to intervene, he went in between the two siblings and extended his hand towards Aydian. “Don’t do anything rash-” The back of Aydian’s fist found its mark dead on Samuel’s chin, his body flopped as his head rang like a bell, bringing him to the ground in an instant. Elyenora widened her eyes in shock, but reacted all the same. She hovered her hand over

Chapter 180: Through the memories they go, until they reach the final one.
Aydian stared at the spot where Elyenora and Samuel had vanished from, he grinned, and the memory began to cease. Everything returned once more to the void of memories, the scenery shattered and flickered away like flower petals blown away by the powerful gusts of the outdoors. Mon’Ter and Leonidas stood there, and the chimera contemplated over what he’d just witnessed. “So, that’s how it started? Really…?” Leonidas sighed, “It would seem so, sadly.” “Bloody hell… Why would he do that?” Mon’Ter clenched his fists. “It seemed so weird given how he acted in all the other memories, Elyenora was right to be as confused as she was over it… Ugh… I want to pummel his face into the ground for how he treated them now…” “Don’t go doing that before I talk to him properly, alright?” Leonidas pointed to him. “Fine. But if he dares to claim being our enemy even after that, I’m not listening,” Mon’Ter pointed at him back, almost as if mimicking the old man.<
