The Mission 3
The discussion went on for a long time as the ship cruised through space to the middle realm outpost. During this time, Arran had basically explained everything he could about Earth. But even for him, there were some things he could explain and could only gloss over.Towards the end, just as they were about to wrap up their talk about Earth, Beatrice actually pointed her finger at a corner of the holographic image showing a 3D graphical image of Earth along with various notes and connotations written below it.Beatrice drew everybody’s attention to an almost insignificant scribble that would have mostly gone unnoticed were it not for her meticulousness.“What is that? Do you understand what that means?”Arran had just finished explaining various historical points that occurred in the development of human civilization on Earth over the last ten thousand years when Beatrice spoke. On Earth, the oldest known historical record of civilization was probably dated back to only five thousand

Warp-Light Gate
The ship landed on the dock of the outpost and its occupants disembarked to a host of people waiting for them outside. At the forefront was Captain Mei, who was still in charge of the outpost since the last time Arran saw her.Arran and the others exited the ship in a simple formation, with Aku in the lead and Joyner and Sable walking side by side as they followed behind him. Arran followed after Joyner, keeping exactly three paces behind him at all times. The rest of them were behind Arran, with Bernard being the farthest away from the entire group.Arran looked around the docking bay and remembered his first time seeing space through the energy shield. At that time, Arran was leaving this outpost for a vaster world outside. Now he had returned but things were no longer the same as they were back then. Not only was Arran’s powers much greater than before but his status had seen a complete reversal with the executives of the outpost lining up to receive him.For a moment, Arran relish

Official Briefing Begins
As Arran’s group passed through the corridors, they came across the medical wing of the outpost. Arran’s steps suddenly faltered. In front of him was a door leading into the medical wing and from the safety window of the door, one could see many individuals in sterile white gowns moving about in a bustle inside.Among the people inside the medical wing, there were a few faces Arran recognized. Especially one of a youth who left a very deep impression on Arran back when. When Arran spotted this young man, he tried to recall his name, but it eluded him. Other than remembering his face, Arran remembered nothing about the youth who had sparred with him because of a bet only to get knocked down by Arran. Now this youth was still an insignificant staff at a realm outpost, while Arran was no longer the same. “How ironic!” Arran thought. The person who wanted to curry favor at Arran’s expense didn’t succeed while Arran advanced instead. The thought put Arran in a melancholic mood. Arran’s

Interruption
Everybody sat down in silence for a moment before Aku decided to start the briefing. But just as he was about to speak, he halted, his expression changing into a tight frown. Immediately after, a psychic ripple suddenly spread around the entire outpost base carrying a sharp and piercing voice with it that penetrated into the minds of everybody.“So this is where you are hiding. Found you!”Bang! As if an explosion had set off, everybody felt like their minds were being bombarded with missiles or like having a hammer forcefully knocked on their heads and driving a sharp nail into their minds.Everybody felt their noses bleed as terrible illusions assaulted their minds under the influence of the voice. The illusions were of bloody scenes of carnage and death, with horrendous monstrosities rearing their heads in people's minds as if to devour them. Realistic images of worlds being destroyed and consumed and lives being massacred in droves in a culling of unimaginable proportions appeared

Interruption 2
Aku’s series of commands was met with awkward silence by the officers of the outpost, who looked between him and Captain Mei as if torn on if to listen to him or not.Although Aku was a special guest in the outpost, he wasn’t their commanding officer and had no authority to give them orders at all. There was also the fact that the situation outside was currently unknown so they were reluctant to do exactly what Aku said. The officers turned to Captain Mei to make the call. She too had similar concerns so before doing anything, she wanted to understand the situation first. No commander would willingly hand over their authority to another person. It didn’t matter who that person was or how glorious their status was. It was especially so in this case when everything was shrouded in mystery and covered in black fog.Captain Mei was looking through the surveillance cameras at various sections of the base. There, the scene of wreckage and destruction was portrayed directly in her eyes.Fall

Project Eve
The barrier surrounding the outpost was normally invisible when in an idle state. Only when it became activated would it become a visible golden color, with flashing runes all around it.When attacked, depending on the strength of the attack, the outpost barrier would flash brightly as it resisted any attacks directed at it. Currently, the golden color of the barrier had turned into a blinding flash of brightness that lit up the surrounding dark void around the outpost like a small sun chasing away the darkness. This directly showed just how powerful Kasack’s psychic attack was.Another wave of panic spread throughout the outpost as the attack ended. Countless more people collapsed on the ground, frothing from their mouths after the sudden attack following the last one. Thankfully, nobody died this time. That is because Captain Mei had managed to react in time to reinforce the outpost’s barrier, diverting most of the outpost’s spare energy into it so it could resist the psychic attack

Warp-Light Engine
“Why did you reject my proposal to counterattack? With the shield defending us, the enemy has no way to deal with us anymore apart from his psychic attacks. Now is the best chance to counterattack and drive him off or even kill him. We have to act now!” The officer was indignant. He believed his suggestion to counterattack was brilliant and the chances of chasing away or even killing Kasack were high as long as they had the outpost shields and Kasack could not do anything against them. Having his suggestion directly shut down peeved him, causing him to defend himself. In response, Pamela spoke up at this time, saying, “Are you stupid?” Pamela’s rude remark shocked everybody, who looked at her in confusion. As if she didn’t see their reactions, Pamela continued speaking. “How did somebody like this become an officer when he is so stupid? Killing a shade lord… ha… I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. You think just because of your tortoiseshell, you’ve suddenly become

Warp-Light Engine 2
In the time it took for Captain Mei to make a decision, Kasack had impatiently launched various attacks on the outpost, hoping to break through its shields and affect the people inside. Fortunately, with the shield being reinforced, none of Kasack’s attacks could get through anymore. But this situation would not last, as it wasn’t an ideal solution to passively take a beating without retaliating.Just as Captain Mei was hesitating about what to do, Aku suddenly shifted his chair back and stood up. His sudden movement drew everybody’s attention as they looked at him, puzzled.Ignoring the looks directed at him, Aku faced Captain Mei and said to her, “It looks like I have no choice but to act. I’ll be responsible for holding back the Shade Lord while you prepare the Warp-Light engine for a jump immediately. I can only buy you one minute, so make it fast.”With that, Aku started walking out of the room but his words were still ringing in everybody’s ears as they tried to understand his m

Warp-Light Engine 3
The so-called warp-light engine was a creation of the Aeth civilization that could instantly bridge the vast amount of space that existed between realms to achieve instantaneous teleportation across realms. It is an unprecedented invention that revolutionized the meaning of interstellar travel.Light speed is the standard rate of movement for interstellar travel and faster-than-light travel uses space folding to create wormhole passages to perform pseudo-instant travel. Both of these were integral to interstellar travel. Any civilization capable of achieving both among other things, could be considered a cosmic civilization. But above these two was warp-light travel, which was akin to true instantaneous movement which functioned by completely eliminating the distance between two destinations as if passing from different layers on a flat two-dimensional plane. The intricacies of how warp-light travel functioned are very esoteric and reserved only for the initiated. There is no need to

Aku Vs Kasack
Kasack and Aku continued their face-off in space. Receiving no response from Aku, Kasack began to probe the Aeth by launching one psychic attack after the other, only to have them rebuffed by Aku without penetrating the shield. Kasack frowned in annoyance at the turn of events. ‘Where did this freak come from? My psychic attacks are not having any effect on him at all. It’s like his mind is made of a rock or something. Also, that attack of his gives me a strange and sickening feeling that almost makes me want to vomit!’ Kasack cursed at Aku in his mind as he lamented his unfruitful attacks. It didn’t matter how many times Kasack delivered waves of psychic attacks at the Aeth; it was completely unable to faze him at all. This was not a passive attack like previously, when Kasack was trying to talk to Aku. No, this time, the Shade employed all manners of psychic manipulation and input them directly into his attacks to distort Aku’s mind. The attacks were meant to induce fear, dread,
