South Oakland was the site of choice, and as a neighborhood that is home to three universities, museums, and hospitals, as well as an abundance of shopping, restaurants, and recreational activities, it was deemed quite perfect as it was sure to draw the attention of the younger adults, increasing the fame and popularity of the tournament with a steady pace. The higher-ups of the tournament had built a stadium in Central Oakland, Pittsburgh, and had bought three condominiums for the participants that qualified, one for each class, each two blocks away from the last.
