Let's Help Mr. Ban's Business
Barter was demoralized.Had he not lost everything? The woman that killed his sister was still aboard and living freely. Yes, Laura was back in Mr. Ban's house, but she was locked up in a room, with meals being served daily and on time, and she lived like an average person would. But she was not an average person. She was a murderer, and she had to pay for her crime. Yet, she felt better than Barter. Eating and sleeping, and screaming to be let out of the room she was kept in. That was some guts, to think that she had the right to ask to be let out after doing such a hideous crime. Barter drove home from the hospital after Mr. Ban had been confirmed to be in a critical coma of which it was unknown when he would wake up. Nothing made sense to him anymore, and nothing interested him. He was empty. He got home and walked along the long corridor with heavy strides, likely making Laura hear him so that she could upset him and he would beat her again. After all, Mr. Ban was not around
