Greg's Dreaded Return Four Weeks
''It's your uncle. He had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. The doctor said he has a heart disease...'' Margaret Ban said to Lucy. Barter was demoralized.Had he not lost everything? The woman that killed his sister was still aboard and living freely. Yes, Laura was back in Mr. Ban's house, but she was locked up in a room, with meals being served daily and on time, and she lived like an average person would. But she was not an average person. She was a murderer, and she had to pay for her crime. Yet, she felt better than Barter. Eating and sleeping, and screaming to be let out of the room she was kept in. That was some guts, to think that she had the right to ask to be let out after doing such a hideous crime. Barter drove home from the hospital after Mr. Ban had been confirmed to be in a critical coma of which it was unknown when he would wake up. Nothing made sense to him anymore, and nothing interested him. He was empty. He got home and walked along the long corridor with heavy strides, likely making Laura hear him so that she could upset him and he would beat her again. After all, Mr. Ban was not around

At this point, Barter was in a maze. He left Laura's room with her suggestion ringing in his ears. Should he do it? Barter scoffed and shook his head. So, Laura wanted to meander her way out of the crime she had committed? ''Women...'' Barter murmured. But if he didn't allow her to try, what would become of Mr. Ban's empire? It was not as if Barter was so in love with Mr. Ban so much that he didn't want to see his business crumble, but the fact that Barter was under Mr. Ban's payroll. Barter could get another job, but it would not be the same as working with Mr. Ban. He had been with Mr. Ban for so many years, and he had incentives due to him as a result. Working for someone else from scratch would take him back, besides, he would now have to answer to a head gangsta, as he would no longer be at the top of the hierarchy since he was a newcomer. Charles Ban had waited long enough, hoping that the substance that the counter sales lady had given to Laura would come in handy, but as far as he was concerned, it didn't.He had been waiting to see Laura show up for close to a week, and she had not. It started to bother him.Apart from the fact that the mishap happened just when he was about to get into Laura's pants, he started to realize that she had been kidnapped and might be in danger. But what could he do? He was not even allowed to be seen sparingly in the city because of fear of what his enemies would do to him, so going to the police to report a missing person seemed far-fetched. ''Naaa... can't do that...'' he said to himself when the thought of going to the police crossed his mind. So was he going to forget about Laura and act as if he didn't know that she had been kidnapped?That would be terrible of him. He would be no different from the kidnapper that took her. Laura was in her supposed cell, waiting for direction from Barter. She was excited. At least, she got to work, she got to do something by herself, no matter what it was. She was just glad to have come to this point, although she was careful because she knew that Barter was on the verge of snapping any time now. *Bang Bang Bang* There was a knock on the door of her room before she heard keys jangling. The door opened and she saw Barter's not-so-handsome face. ''Come out...'' Barter said and left the door open for Laura to follow him to Mr. Ban's study. Both of them entered the study and Barter tossed something on the table. It was heavy, but it was packaged so Laura could not look into it to know what it was. ''This is your first job...'' Barter said to her and pointed at the package. ''You would make a delivery to this address...'' he said, and wrote an address on a piece of paper, handing it over to Laura. Greg Chase could not understand why Charles Ban was on him the way he was, concerning the supposed issue at hand that bothered Charles.''I don't know where I come in here, but...Mr. Ban, it's shocking to see you count on me like this. Laura was being tossed around inside the house. Each time she wanted to speak, she didn't get a chance to. Within a couple of minutes, she was bleeding. Barter went around the house, looking for a way in. He didn't want to be spotted, even if the men descending on Laura knew him, and would stop assaulting her as soon as they saw him. He could hear Laura screaming faintly each time she landed on the floor with a thud. ''Barter must hate you. He brought you here as a gift to us...'' one of the men said to Laura aggressively. ''I just came to drop the package...'' Laura managed to mutter, but of course, it fell on deaf ears. The men around her were bloodthirsty, and they could do with that package for free.
