Kiara looked up from her seat on the floor, her eyes floating to the door when steps approached it. She knew it was him, but she didn’t want to see him, not now, she didn’t want to see him ever. For the whole day she had avoided him, she walked around the yard until her feet got tired and even then she sat outside on the porch until the afternoon turned into evening. And now she was in her room, hiding in the furthest corner from the door and yet he came to disturb her. The knob on the door twisted, then the door was pushed open and in front of it stood her tormentor for the past years. “Come down for dinner.”Kiara hugged her knees and turned away from him, not uttering a word.“It’s fine if you don’t want to come, if you starve that’ll only save me from killing you myself.”He stepped away from the doorway and as he walked away, the door closed on its own accord.
