CHAPTER 71 FOLLOWER
After Vandread had successfully buried his mother in the ground beneath the tree, he immediately ran away. He had the impression that the last few drops of rain had washed away a heavy load of feeling that had shattered him, and that as a result, he could no longer feel anything at this moment. He had lost both of his parents, and nothing could have been more painful for Vandread than watching both of his parents pass away right in front of his eyes while he was helpless to do anything to save them in the slightest degree. No matter how many times Vandread tried to blame himself for the tragic ending that had befallen his parents while they were raising him, it was pointless now because it was too late. He was at a loss to comprehend the reasons behind their being forced to go through with such an unfortunate destiny. Vandread was experiencing deep regret, but he had to accept that this was his life now. As he got closer and closer to the city that served as Dizencia's capital, he di

CHAPTER 72 SHE INSISTED
When Vandread saw the woman again, his eyes lit up with surprise. However, what the woman had just shared with him was even more shocking to him, and his eyes widened even further. Vandread had been under the impression throughout this entire process that he would be traveling to the grounds of the capitol all by himself. Vandread had just the other day thought that when it was just all about him and no one else in his life, things in his life would take a completely different path than they had been taking ever since his father and, just recently, even his mother had left him after passing away so soon. “Wait? Did you just say that you're going to come with me?” In the end, Vandread worked up the courage to ask her. There was not the slightest indication of hesitance on the part of the woman as she abruptly nodded her head in his direction and responded with the word "Yes. I can't believe you didn't hear what I just said to you. Because I had nowhere else to go, I really wish that

CHAPTER 73 MONSTER BY THE STREAM
Because Vandread was adamant about not looking in her direction, he was caught off guard when the woman let out a startled scream, which forced him to turn around. He was completely taken aback when he saw what it was that caused the woman to start screaming at the top of her lungs all of a sudden. She continued to scream "Help!" as she was being pursued by an evil-looking monster that lived in the water while it was chasing her down.Because it was able to stand on both of its legs, its body was constructed in a manner that was analogous to that of a human. It had fins extending across its arms, and as it reached out to grab the woman, Vandread noticed that its hands were also equipped with sharp claws. As Vandread got a better look at the monster's upper body, he noticed that the horrifying feeling he had been having was getting stronger. It has a rough chest and shoulders, but what stood out the most was its head because it resembled the head of a piranha. This was the most striki

CHAPTER 74 WHAT HAPPENED TO NEMESIS?
It appeared as though the monster had a quick comprehension of the words that Vandread chose to use because it immediately opened its ferocious mouth in front of Vandread's presence while letting out a shrill scream that could be heard for miles. It seemed as though the way it shrieked was more of an attempt to act as a barrier to prevent Vandread from getting any closer to it rather than merely an attempt to scare Vandread away with its scream. Despite his initial surprise, Vandread was no longer in the least bit frightened by the creature's presence. In point of fact, he was completely unfazed by any of the monstrous creature's attempts to scare him away. It seemed as if Vandread had become accustomed to it despite whatever the reason may have been. As a matter of fact, he had the impression that he had already come across the aforementioned creature at some point in the past. The only thing about it was that he could not even fathom how it was even possible, given that he had sw

CHAPTER 75 THE SWORD'S ODD BEHAVIOR
As impossible as it may seem, the nemesis was now aiming to make a direct hit on Vandread. It was almost as if it had its own mind and had decided to switch sides with the monster in order to kill him instead. He could not fathom that it was actually taking place. When Vandread saw that his own sword was now attempting to kill him rather than the monster that stood before him, he was completely taken aback. And as Vandread was able to get a brief glimpse of the monster, he was surprised to discover that it was behaving in an odd manner as well. The terrifying shrieking sound that the monster had been making earlier has finally been silenced for the time being. It appeared as though it was trying to concentrate on something as it continued to stare intently at the sword.Vandread was able to quickly figure out what it was trying to accomplish. From the way the monster tried to focus solely on the nemesis, he couldn't be wrong. It was most definitely attempting to exert some sort of con

CHAPTER 76 HERE'S THE PLAN
At this point, it was imperative that Vandread kept moving in order for him to avoid being cut down by the onslaught of his own sword. On the other hand, it appeared as though the nemesis was moving on its own and went for another hit on Vandread. He avoided each and every attack that his nemesis tried to launch against him at various points in time, just as Vandread had done earlier when he had evaded its attack. And each time that Vandread does that, he examines the situation to determine how the sword was able to move on its own without anyone or anything that controls it. In spite of this, he was still incapable of understanding how everything that was transpiring with his sword actually took place. For some reason, it was already beginning to make Vandread feel as though he couldn’t find the solution he was seeking. In spite of that, he just couldn't bring himself to settle for that by itself. Vandread made the decision that he would not give up on discovering the truth about

CHAPTER 77 SHE NEEDED SAVING (1)
Vandread found out that there was an invisible string that connected the hilt to the branches of trees around. And since Vandread’s vision had developed a better sighting over normal human eyes, he was able to sense the invisible thread around him. To his surprise, the string was not only connected with one but quite a lot of trees around. It was then when Vandread realized that the following trees which the invisible thread had been connected to were also the same trees that the monster had been using to leapt into. And at that point, Vandread speculation had been proven right. The hideous-looking monster was indeed behind all of the strange behavior that the nemesis was doing. There couldn’t be in any way possible that the nemesis would harm him on its own without anything or anyone that has been pulling the string.True to what Vandread had earlier assumed, the full control over the nemesis now had all been because of the monster which was still standing not a few meters from him.

CHAPTER 78 SHE NEEDED SAVING (2)
"Help me!" the woman yelled at the top of her lungs as loudly as she could. She was making an effort to fight her way free of the invisible thread that was tied around her body, but it was proving to be difficult. She tried everything she could think of, but she just couldn't seem to get rid of the invisible thread no matter what she did.Now that Vandread's focus had shifted, he was paying attention to the woman who was being held hostage by the monster. It caused him to become even more enraged about the circumstance because it had already progressed to the point where even the woman whom he was attempting to protect was involved. He could not allow the monster to get away with this. The monster initially attempted to trick Vandread by making him believe that his sword was moving of its own accord. However, it was later discovered that the monster was actually manipulating the sword through those invisible threads the entire time. Not to mention the fact that the monster had actual

CHAPTER 79 AS FOUL AS ITS ATTITUDE
“Let her go.” Vandread tried to ask the monster. He was still trying to observe whether the monster would use the woman to attack him or it was just waiting for Vandread to make the movement and then it would use the woman as its shield against him instead.Vandread was well aware that the monster wouldn’t even bother hearing him out, much more, obeying him for his request. However, Vandread had no intention of continuously asking the monster anyway. It was just his for strategy to distract the monster to make any untoward action against him while he come up with a better plan to rescue the woman without giving the monster any hint about it. And since the monster didn’t even flinch with Vandread’s earlier statement, he then decided to add up a few more words to tell the monster. “She’s not your enemy, I am! Now let go of her!” However, Vandread’s statement ended up being futile. The monster didn’t hear him, and what made things worse was when the monster decided to manipulate the w

CHAPTER 80 TOO LATE
Vandread immediately took the chance to attack the monster head on after he saw that the monster was now open for his attack. Just as Vandread was about to get close to the monster, he suddenly noticed that it would make things slower if he would continue moving at that speed, which was why Vandread promptly took a swift jump forward. He managed to make a swift movement with that plan and before the monster could even evade his counter attack, Vandread was already able to swing his sword against the monster and leave leg wounded in the attack. The monster immediately shrieked in pain and in agony as a result of that attack. It wasn’t something that the monster had hoped to happen, however, since it didn’t anticipate that sudden onslaught from Vandread, it was now suffering the fatal blow of the nemesis.Vandread was never bothered by the noise, he had grown accustomed to it no matter how the monster increased the volume of its screams. At this moment, the determination to finish off t
