something about the darkness
There were loud cheers erupting from the large hall which sat at the center of the palace. The cheers were loud enough to shake the foundations of the building itself, making the guards at the entrance curl with envy. The Knights and Lords were enjoying themselves and all they could do was stand guard. That night, dozens of servant girls trooped into the Hall with food and wine, replacing every bit as soon as it was finished. There was an abundant supply of everything, the grace of the King was indeed insurmountable. The guards stood at attention when Kevin approached the hall. He had a wide smile on his face and he beamed with happiness. Behind him were two Knights that followed like flies to a corpse. He walked towards the door and took a glance inside. The feast was everything he had imagined. Then he walked inside and when he did, an even greater cheer arose. The men clapped and cheered as Kevin walked through the crowd, smiling as he did. He had never felt as fulfilled as he did

The reflection(1)
Kevin could hear his own ragged breathing. He felt a wave coming upon him and he could still feel the presence. But why could he not see anything? Why was the hallway dark? What was going on? Where were the guards? He turned around to go back into the Hall but even the door to the hall had disappeared. He could hear the cheers, but they seemed to be coming from behind the wall that had replaced the door. He roamed his hands on the wall like a madman, trying to search for some sort of escape. But none was forthcoming. He just kept touching the wall until eventually, he began to punch it. He kept punching the wall furiously, yelling as he did. The voices were getting louder, the darkness was growing deeper. He was getting more worked up. He kept on punching until, suddenly, a terrible silence fell upon him. He could not hear a thing, except his own breath. His chest heaved up and down as he breathed and Just then, he felt a hand touch his shoulder; a cold, skeletal hand that felt like

The reflection(2)
Kevin sat down on the side of his bed, gazing at the shattered mirror. The broken mirror reflected the candlelight on the chandelier, and some of the reflections found their way into his eyes. He quickly turned his head around to avoid the light.Kevin sighed.A once-perfect evening had turned out to be so imperfect and he was powerless. There was nothing he could do about it. The fact that he could not remember anything other than that war before that night terrified him. That was not normal, something was wrong. He knew it.He could still hear the people in the hall cheering and engaging themselves in their festivities. Perhaps he might have been so eager to feast with them, to celebrate with them, and to make them feel like they can trust him, however, after what had happened to him that night, he was not so sure whether meeting them was such a good idea. So, he decided to remain indoors throughout the rest of the night. He wanted to do his possible best to avoid an embarrassing si

The reflection (3)
"Did I ruin your moment, your highness?"Richmond asked as he stretched himself on the chair he was sitting on, his sword's tip slowly touching the ground as his eyes flashed at Kevin with anger. The girl, yes, Lyra was terribly embarrassed. She quickly packed her breasts into her dress and walked out of the room, fuming at Richmond as she did. He did not say anything, he just looked at her and kept smiling.Kevin slowly stood on his feet and approached Richmond, who was still sitting even when Kevin stood. Such defiance!"What the hell are you doing in my Chambers unannounced? Do you not know the punishment that comes with that act of stupidity?"Kevin asked but Richmond scoffed."I am sure that woman did not also announce herself before she came into your chambers...", His eyes diverted to the broken mirror on the ground. "Judging by that mirror, I would say you had too much alcohol than you can handle. Or, am I telling a lie?"Richmond asked him and kept smiling. Kevin was fuming.

He groaned again, and stopped, letting the pain subside a little. But there was not much effect. He still could not believe the girl, Lyra was in league with his sister. How did he miss it? Why did he not see it? However, he did not blame himself much. He wasn't even aware until the deed was done. All what he cared about was getting to the door and calling for assistance. But then, the door opened slowly. Lyra stepped inside, gazing at Kevin before she walked toward him. She did not smile, in fact, her face had no expressions. She just looked at him as he groaned on the ground, blood dripping from the wound on his side."W...why?"He managed to mutter, however, she just gazed at him. "Why!?"He exclaimed. She took a deep breath and walked away from him towards the bed. She sat down, still not taking her eyes off him."I am an assa

Advisor in court
"You...what are you doing here?"Kevin asked the tall man sitting on the bed. The man gazed at him as he tried to stand, legs almost failing him. The jump through time and space he had just gone through was making him feel weird as well. He felt extremely dizzy, his stomach was turning and he must have fallen once or twice while trying to stand."Take it easy, Kevin. The effects do not wear off easily. You will find that you are doing more harm to yourself than good if you try to push it."The man said to him and Kevin scoffed. Then the man stood up, walked towards him, grabbed his arm, and raised him up from the ground.Kevin was confused as the man gazed into his eyes like he was searching for something there. He managed to hold Kevin in place with his powers which at that time, Kevin could no longer dispute existed. Besides, he had spoken to his reflection in the mirror.Kevin finally managed to overcome the pull the magic had on him and moved back, snapping out of the man's grip.

"I cannot leave Kevin all alone like this. I have to stay with him.", Miranda said to the healer who looked at Kevin before he walked toward the calcified prince. He touched Kevin's Hand and slowly raised it up.The hand cracked, letting out some sand that fell on the bed sheets. The healer quickly put the hand down before looking at Miranda again."I am afraid my powers did not do much for him. You must hurry, Princess. This spell is as dangerous as it is unpredictable. If his heart turns to stone, the prince will not survive it. The prince will die."The man told her and she swallowed. "I will come with you, princess Miranda. I will follow you to the sorcerer's place." Lord Henry told her. She was not so sure of the decision."But this is your manor. You are needed here to give orders. Your parents are away and so are your siblings. I will not have you abandon your duties because of me." She protested."Just let me help Miranda. For once, let me help you without you complaining abo
