Jeff had to get out of there. But how? He looked around, his mind racing. There had to be a way out. He looked up and saw a vent in the ceiling. Could he reach it?Jeff quietly made his way to the vent, moving as quickly and as silently as he could. He reached up and pulled himself up, climbing inside the vent. He started to crawl, his heart pounding in his chest. He could hear the sounds of battle growing fainter as he got further away. Finally, he reached the end of the vent, and he saw a small opening. He pushed it open, and he found himself outside, in the cool night air. He took a deep breath, and then he ran.Jeff ran down the street, his feet pounding on the pavement. He turned a corner, and he saw a black van. He ran towards it, his breath coming in gasps. The van's side door slid open, and he jumped inside. The door closed behind him, and the van sped off.
