Later on, when he got back home, Leonard sat nervously on the edge of the plush armchair, clutching his phone in his hands. His heart raced as he dialed his mother's number. She had gone to work and when he came back home, he was quite sad that he didn't meet her at home but nevertheless, he knew that he had to tell her about what had happened at the police station. She had a right to know. His fingers trembled slightly. He took a deep breath as the call connected, and his mother's voice greeted him on the other end. "Hello, Mom," Leonard began, his voice a mixture of excitement and anxiety. "Hello, dear," his mother replied, her tone filled with warmth. "How are you?" Leonard hesitated for a moment before blurting out, "I did it, Mom. We... we finally lodged the complaint about Elsie's wicked father to the police."
