Chapter 10: Chance Encounter (pt.5)
“Now, we just need to treat the wound normally, since it’ll take some time for it to heal now that it’s no longer in effe—” Suddenly, her vision blurred for a bit. ‘Hmm?’ “Serein-shi?” Towards the call, Serein hummed in response. “Are you okay?” Cherry worriedly asked. “Hmm, yeah. Just a bit dizzy. But anyway, we can move him now” Serein then turned to the Wyrms who stared at her warily still. “What are you looking at?” “What do you want, human?” ‘Cute.’ She couldn’t help but think. They looked like they don’t know how to act toward her now. But well, since they’re being docile, it’s better to ask for their help as well. “There must be a bed here, right? Could you lead the way? Oh, and, if there are still some spare bandages and herbs it’ll be much better.” The two turned towards each other before nodding as if reaching an agreement. Serein was about to lift the ashy-haired person when she realized that Cherry already used her magic on him. “I’ll carry him there. Ser

Chapter 11: Mainstream Trip (pt.1)
'Hmm?' She was sleeping peacefully. Her tired body had been happily enjoying the rest it had been blessed with. The exhausted physique appreciated every single second of it. That being said, at this time of day, Min Suhyun would usually have already woken up, unlike what she's currently doing. 4 am. Under normal circumstances, she would be up and about before the sun had even risen. Waking up had always been a simple task for someone who kept her guard up due to past experiences. This habit also made her an early bird. However, this time was a bit different. Not only did she oversleep for around 2 hours more than usual, but Min Suhyun, who was also expecting to wake up back in her own body in the comfort of her messy bed, realized that she was nowhere near a bed. Her back was sprawled on hard ground, which wasn't even a floor. She was lying at the damp entrance of a cave. At that moment, she also noticed a few other details, such as how her hair wasn't ombre from that faile

— Kruyuuuuuuk Kruyuuk…The pink-haired lady's cheeks turned rosy red when her stomach rumbled loudly.‘How embarrassing!!!’Granted, she hadn’t eaten properly for the last 2 days, since they had been trying to survive in this rainforest a day before Serein even started her journey. And considering that she had been overusing her mana yesterday—the day when things went extremely wrong, worse than the first day of their arrival—it was an understatement to say that she was famished.Thankfully, she wasn't as dehydrated, thanks to Sam, who allowed her to have some sips from their water supply. But anyway…Gil was about to open his mouth to speak when someone else was faster than him."Here."A nutrient bar appeared in front of both of them. Neatly wrapped in plastic, it wasn't soaked from when they jumped into the lake yesterday. The giver was none other than Serein herself, who had just finished eating her own portion for breakfast."It doesn't taste anywhere close to a decent gourmet, b

In the midst of her dwindling, Gil's voice suddenly resounded."You can leave me here," he said. The one-legged young man realized Serein's concern and thus decided for himself that it was for the best."What? What do you mean by leaving you here?"Cherry, who nearly choked when she heard that, is now glaring at her best friend."This idiot... are you really going to go through this conversation agai—”Yet, "Sounds good to me," Serein cut in and agreed with the smiling Gil. This caused Cherry's glare to shift from the knight to the adventurer."Serein-shi, we can't just—""With all due respect, princess."Despite the stern tone directed at her, Serein cut the mage’s sentence short once more."He's just going to slow us down," she pointed out the obvious.Gil wouldn't be any sort of help to them."If he's going with us, the best thing he'd end up being is a meat shield or bait."Serein had no problem laying out the harsh truth, even as Gil's lips twitched and Cherry visibly became agit

— Krasak Krasak… Jumping from one branch to another, Serein and Cherry made their way to the deeper part of the Blasphemos Woodland, which would lead them to Ervenyl Mountain, the heart of this rainforest. They only stopped for a bit whenever a big monster was detected and they couldn’t depend on their speed to escape it. After all, a battle is not an option. If either of them were to break into a fight with any of those mutants right now, it can almost be guaranteed that they wouldn’t be able to return by sunset. “Halt.” Serein signaled for them to stop as soon as she heard as though stomping feet were coming closer. — Kung. Kung. Kung! Hiding their presence to blend in with the forest itself, Serein was glad that this was, in fact, a fantasy-based world. ‘Imagine how bad it would be if these nasties exist and we have nothing to counter it.’ She internally shuddered, for once not due to her inner cold, but rather from the thought. Then again, to fight these mutants head-

Meanwhile, with Serein…'What's up with this girl?' She couldn’t help but think as she witnessed Cherry’s reaction.A moment ago she was worrying over nonsense, got annoyed by her reply, got confused before getting startled next, and now, she's giggling without context.'I didn't make her a character with a loose screw, did I…?' Serein was concerned. After all, Min Suhyun made this munchkin story full of chuunis and OP characters. Not to mention just how many sudden deaths enlisted within the plot. It's ridiculous. 'Why did I get so obsessed with death at that time, again?'Read more
Chapter 16: The ruler of the Earth (pt.1)
In Greek mythology, Cerberus was said to have been manhandled by Hercules. Unlike other monsters that crossed the path of the legendary hero, Cerberus, who had been subdued, was brought to Eurystheus so that it could continue its duty of guarding the gates of hell. This is exactly why Aidou was also left alone by the Hero party of this world. Although, in addition to its important job, Aidou should also not be killed for another reason. As mentioned before, Aidou is one of The Three Primordial Rulers, specifically, it is the ruler of the earth. No matter how weak it may have become over time and other factors, imagine what would happen to the monsters on land once they found out that their leader had been killed by a mere human. 'Nothing good, that’s for sure.' Which is why when Cherry asked her whether they had to fight such a terrifying monster, Serein easily replied with— "If we can avoid fighting, it's better not to taunt them." Escaping from a confrontation with the creature

At Serein’s words, Cherry frowned lightly but did not complain much. “Alright, I’ll keep watch. But if I see you at too much of a disadvantage, don’t expect me to sit still, doing nothing.”The young adventurer gave a simple nod to that declaration. It's always good to have a trusty backup plan anyway.“However, if I seem like a lost cause, just leave and head for the right track I informed you about. Do not, I repeat, do NOT intervene to help me yourself," instructed Serein, addressing the pink-haired mage, who appeared to be restraining a host of protests based on her twitching eyebrow."Just... What's with you people telling me to abandon you guys, huh? Am I really not that reliable?" Cherry grumbled under her breath, recalling how many times Gil, her own childhood friend, had already uttered similar phrases lately. But of course, Serein paid no heed to her woes.‘I mean, it’s not like I wanted to die here or something, but this is a problem that I’m bringing upon myself,’ on the o

This whole situation immediately reminded Serein of her place, of her status in the main plot. An Extra. Serein Rowe in nothing but an extra who was fated to die to thicken the plot. At first, Min Suhyun denied this reality; however, the sensory she felt was way too real to be a mere dream. It hits her even more now that her fight-or-flight instinct has been triggered, unlike any other dream she has ever had. “...this whole shit is real” Her mumbling was drowned out by the sound of tens of thousands of droplets hitting the barrier. If only she had paid attention, she would have noticed that the rain absurdly began to calm down when Aidou began to rise from their seat. - Shiiiiik Dropplets fell from the beast's majestic coat, the golden fur still looking shiny despite the soil and rain. "Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. It's been a while since we had visitors with intelligence." A booming voice was heard from one of its heads, proud and domineering; the blind Eagle

Chapter 19: The ruler of the Earth (pt.4)
"As if answering Serein’s internal question, one of the three heads called out to her once more, the expression displayed a mix of puzzlement and irritation. {Human.} An unexpected voice boomed inside her head, startling the young adventurer with its loudness. She flinched and instinctively covered her ears, squinting her eyes as if it would do her any favor. ‘What the hell?!’ Her eyes shook a little once they reopened. Serein realized that the burning gaze the Lion aimed at her had become even more intense. It was not difficult for her to figure out that the owner of the voice was, in fact, the Lion head, which looked as if it was about to shoot lasers with its stare alone. However, once the adventurer realized that it was Aidou and not any other enemy’s doing, she did her best to compose herself. And, to be honest, she was quite successful, as barely a second later she heard that voice speak again. {Human, tell me your identity now if you still wish to live.} “...ugh.” A whi
