You'll only make the dog even angrier!” utters Dean.“Shut up!”Of course the dog looks very uncomfortable being sprayed with water. It's not that it hates water. But at this time, its body is boiling as if it has been exposed to acid.“I hope I still have time to stop its transformation,” mumbles Mary full of hope.“What transformation are you talking about?” asks Dean.“Spectres don’t usually possess animals,

Crasssh!!!Blood and flesh scattered on the ground, as the monster forcibly pulls its head free from the arrow that sticks its head on the tree.As the monster breaks free and falls, Dean also breaks free from the branch, and hits his head on the ground.“Aw, that hurts! I need to get away.”And then, he notices the monster is already badly injured. The monster finds it hard just to get back up, with blood still flooding out from its neck and back.“Dean! 023 - Considering His Options
Sara picks her arrow back. But now she looks more like a professional hunter in his eyes.“By the way, Sara, thank you for saving my life,” says Dean approaching the girl.“Don’t mention it,” replies Sara with her naïve smile, as she wipes that metal arrow with a piece of cloth. “I believe you would do the same if you were in my position.”Again, Dean finds her innocent smiles. However, he immediately convinces himself not to be fooled by that innocent look.“Damn! Looks like I need to apologize to Mr. Hensley for killing his beloved dog,” utters Mary as she walks away from that place.Dean sees those three walk away nonchalantly, as if the thing that has happened was just a trivial matter for them. It’s only Dean alone who is still f

024 - Show Some Respect, Please!
Theo picks a ball, and starts doing practice by himself. His jump shot is okay, the movement is good. When he tries several kinds of dunk, he still looks convinced and superior. Nothing is wrong with his form when he trains alone. But then, when they start another training match, Theo looks indecisive every time he receives a pass in the high post area. The ring is so close to him. Instead of using his brute strength to just slam that ball to the ring, his mind is busy worrying about the people around him. “Hey, Theo! You are taking too long, man! Give back that ball,” asks Gideon from outside the three-point line. Even in responding to Gideon’s words, he still looks indecisive and so unsure. When he does, his opponent can read it. The ball is easily intercepted, and it leads to a turn over. “God, damn it!” Gideon grumbles, as he has to get back to defense after losing that ball. The opponent makes a basket. Gideon picks the ball, and then slams it so hard at Theo. “What the fuc

025 - Is This A Prank?
Dean feels so embarrassed, and then turns away. But Mary looks so annoyed. One of her hands holds Dean, preventing him from leaving. Her other hand slaps the table right in front of that bank teller lady. “If money that you are asking, I’ll come in a minute!” She then turns away, leaving Dean with his clueless face. “Dean, stay there for a while.” The bank teller seems baffled, not knowing what Mary is going to do. But she can’t simply wait, telling Dean to move away, and invites the other customer to come forward. Mary goes to her car, looks for a plastic bag on the rear trunk of the car, and then heads to the ATM in front of that bank office. She checks on her balance, and finds that she still has more than 80 million Estol. It’s not clear what’s inside her mind, but she simply withdraws all the money in her account. But sadly, that ATM doesn’t have enough cash stock inside that machine. She can only withdraw around 18 million Estol, all in 50,000 denominations. She then contin

026 - Invitation
Mary rushes to check the condition of that one security guard. She shakes him, trying to wake that guy up. But the man just keeps sleeping soundly. “Damn! Seems like it’s not just a normal hypnotic.” She touches the man’s forehead with the tip of her fingers, and then begins chanting some spell in whisper. Tocel eoi femen hepephep! Meqij! As she opens her eyes, that security guard also opens his eyes. He is shocked, and gets himself away. He then looks around in confusion. “What happened?” he mumbles with his clueless face. “You got hypnotized just now,” says Mary. “Hypnotized? What are you talking about?” asks Luca, who is currently standing behind Mary. “Don’t you realize? You just gave your credit card to a stranger earlier.” That man starts rummaging his pocket, checking his wallet, only to find out that his credit card is really no longer with him. “You better tell the bank manager to freeze your credit card now,” suggests Mary before getting out of that bank office. 027 - Take Him Out Already
Luca himself is currently trying to spot the guy who invited him. Once he finds where Dean sits, he just chuckles, shaking his head with a bit of disappointed smile.“So, he’s just a player for team B, huh? What a shame.”“Who?” asks one of his friends.“You see that guy with the red hair? I witnessed myself how fast that guy was, much faster than our Levi, the fastest player in our team.”“Well, being fast doesn’t necessarily mean you are good with basketball. It’s about how you use it effectively during the game,” says Luca’s other friend, giving a response.“Yeah! You are right!” Luca affirms. “The same with height. But you know what? Braham University has a tendency for tall players. They set a threshold of 185 cm. I myself was only 184 cm tall when I first entered college. And they denied me because of that. I only got the chance to participate a year later, after I grew a bit taller.”“That’s too harsh for a university basketball club?”Luca nods by widening his lips. “I just ho

028 - He Is Not Normal
The thing is, Coach Stanley hasn't monitored Dean's training session yesterday. He came later in the afternoon, when Dean was no longer with the team. And he isn't that familiar with Dean yet. “Who is this kid you are talking about?” he asks. “You think subbing him in will make any difference? We are already 16 points behind, with only 6 minutes left.” “I’m not thinking about winning the game,” says Gideon. “But this situation was created by him. And I want him to fix this issue.” “Created by him? What is this all about?” “I believe he was the one who made our Theo to be like this,” says Marcus. Coach Stanley averts his attention to Theo, and Theo just looks away, deliberately trying to deny that his loss to Dean was the reason for his bad performance. “Bring that kid here,” says Coach Stanley to Marcus, despite not knowing what his players are trying to tell him. And so, Marcus calls Dean. And that call is quite unexpected, when Dean has begun to lose his hope over the chance t

029 - He Is Too Short
Mary always looks nervous and uncomfortable whenever that man is around. It's not just about the difference in their status in The League of Hidden Blood, but more because of Gale Nicholson's unpredictable character. That man is almost like a psycho. He can give a naïve smile the entire time, but then suddenly emits intense murderous aura for an unexpected reason. It’s hard to identify his true face.“I, I’ve tried to invite him,” says Mary in a stutter. “But I… I have no power to force people to join. I can’t simply tell him to abandon his dream to become a professional athlete. He is so into it.”“Don’t you realize he’s become the center of attention after showing strange things here?” grumbles Prof. Nicholson with a low intimidating voice.“I don’t think he has done anything weird so far,” Mary argues, forcing her courage to debate with that man. “He does look amazing as a player. But, it’s still within the normal range of things that normal people can do.”“How much have you seen

030 - You Shut Up
Coach Stanley's face looks desperate when he hears that answer. He has coached this basketball club for almost 3 years, and has not yet managed to win a competition. Because of that, he was a little insistent on making a slightly more forceful philosophy regarding the minimum height limit of 185 cm. Yes, he himself made the provisions regarding that requirement. But the initial goal is only to select talent to ensure their chances of winning. And now... “Regardless of his height, with his ability, the chance for this team reaching the final is much higher than having 2 m players,” argues Coach Stanley. “So, you are doubting your own philosophy now?” asks Prof. Nicholson, before coldly sucking his cigarette deeply. “For that kid, I’m willing to change my philosophy. He is destined for something great.” “I know he is destined for something great. But you aren’t,” Prof. Nicholson refutes coldly. “Just pack your things. There are so many better managers for this team to replace you.”
