CHAPTER 51
"The gods have favoured us. We have achieved this feat for Giza and in no time we will do the same for every other part of our great nation Egypt”,“And to our heroes who fought by our side to achieve this great victory, their legend will never be forgotten. Their names will now be added to the history books of Giza”,“Tomorrow we hold a big feast, the biggest feast that has never been held in the history of this land. We would celebrate our victory, award our heroes and our land… WILL FOREVER BE GREAT!”“All hail King Nezeron!” One of the soldiers shouted as the King concluded his speech.“Hail, King Nezeron!”“Hail, King Nezeron!!”“Hail, King Nezeron!!!”The soldiers and the villagers yelled, hailing and praising their king as he entered his castle with his subordinates and they were all dismissed.“Wow! Did you all hear what the King just said? He would not only pay us but award us and add our names to the history books of the City, that's awesome”, Artecus said to his friends as

CHAPTER 52
The night appeared and every area of the city became dark as the sun handed over the dominion of the sky to the moon. The dusk was calm, with only the soft chirping of crickets and the occasional rustle of leaves in the breeze. Suddenly, a distant rumble of thunder broke the silence, and flashes of lightning briefly illuminated the darkened villages. The wind picked up, whistling through the narrow alleys and swaying the branches of trees. Moments later, the sky opened, and heavy raindrops began pelting the roofs, creating a steady rhythm that grew louder with each passing second. Oil lamps flickered inside homes as villagers hurried to close windows and secure belongings. The streets, once silent, filled with the sound of rushing water, and small streams formed along the paths, flowing towards the fields. In a comfortable room in the castle where Tydeus and his companions were offered to stay by the king, the torrential downpour of rain began to drum on the rooftop, disturbing

CHAPTER 53
Tydeus alighted from the staircase and advanced into the corridor. He hadn't yet seen anyone who seemed to have called his name. “Tydeus!” The voice called out again, this time, a little bit loud. Something quickly brought Tydeus's attention to the window of the first cell which was exactly by his side. He saw the Cytorex leader in the cell, covered in dirt and blood stains with his clothes, torn, looking directly into Tydeus's face again. Tydeus became shocked instantly; he never mentioned his name to the Cytorex leader; how did he know his name? He began moving gently towards the cell's steel window to get close to the Cytorex leader. “You know my name?” Tydeus asked boldly. “I gave you the name”, the Cytorex leader replied with certainty. “What are you talking about?” Tydeus asked quickly, his face squeezed like he just bit his tongue. While still sitting on the floor in the cell, the Cytorex leader wore a pale smile and lowered his head slowly. He took his eyes to

CHAPTER 54
“Pss! Rebels? Of course, that is what you must have believed before you come and attack us”, Urshuz replied to Tydeus's question.“What are you talking about? So the Cytorex weren't rebels?” Tydeus asked inquisitively.Urshuz looked at Tydeus's face again who was still looking confused and curious. Tydeus's heart had started racing, the hair on his body stood on end, and his breath had begun to fluctuate as he prepared himself to hear what Urshuz was about to tell him.“Fine. I think it's time. Tydeus I have been wanting to tell you this since you were young but I feel your emotion as a teenager would not be able to contain it so I kept it away from you”“Good thing you're grown now. I think it's time you know the truth about yourself and where you actually come from. And I will need you to give me your ears and pay very close attention. Should I go ahead?”“Of course, I'm all ears. I'm listening” Tydeus replied to Urshuz curiously.“Good. Tydeus I am not your biological father”,“Wha

CHAPTER 55
“I wrapped the little boy, who seemed to be the last Athenian alive and took him out of the desolated City. I got to a hill and decided to take a wider view of the slaughter done to the Athacians, but…”“The view was very awful, there was nothing left anymore, except the crumbled buildings which were still exuding thick black smoke from the fire that they had been burned with the night before”“I couldn't continue weeping. The great City of Athace had fallen already and there's nothing I could do about it. I took the baby out of the scene and evaded the environment immediately”“There was no safe place in the nation anymore as a fierce civil war started. Cities rose against each other, villages burnt and desolated, innocent slaughtered daily and the land gave up its fertility, we weren't able to plant food crops anymore”“The Pharaoh was forced to go on an exile, and the palace of Egypt was destroyed. Since then, Egypt has been divided with no Pharaoh. Many of the cities who couldn't

CHAPTER 56
Isis, the king's sorceress, began moving sluggishly from the stairs behind Tydeus, shuddering in her steps. Her face was very unusual; this time, she looked very frightened. Her hands were shaking twitchingly like she had lost her nerves. She suddenly became petrified to the extent that she couldn't even lift her head to look at Tydeus in the face. Her legs continued to palpitate as she fidgeted with her hands like she was being electrocuted. She nervously came down the stairs and walked towards Tydeus shivering. She has obviously been listening to their conversation.“Isis? Isis, what are you doing here?” Tydeus asked very curiously.“Who is she?”“She is the king's sorceress”, Tydeus replied to Urshuz's question.“Nezeron's sorceress? Wow! Great!” Urshuz replied sarcastically.“Isis, what is going on here? And how do you know everything he told me is the truth?” Tydeus asked fastidiously again as he turned to Isis.“Tydeus, please, I beg you to listen to me. Everything the Cytorex l

CHAPTER 57
“What did you just say?” Tydeus asked furiously as he clenched his fists in anger.“Voila!!! I was waiting for her to say it. It might sound false if I told you, but I wanted her to say it herself”, Urshuz exclaimed.“Nezeron has been behind all of this?” Tydeus asked, raising his voice.“Tydeus, I beg you in the name of the gods. Let me explain”, Isis said quickly as she started noticing Tydeus's reaction.“Tell me what you know”, Tydeus replied irritated. “Continue sorceress, start talking”, Urshuz spoke authoritatively.Isis, still shivering, took in a deep breath and exhaled nervously. It seems she has got a lot to confess.“Nezeron. Nezeron has been the mastermind behind every one of the calamities and atrocities that has crumbled this nation to the shambles it is presently”“And not just from the time the civil war started, not from the time the city of Athace was destroyed, not even from the time Egypt was first attacked in the royal castle of the Pharaoh. But from the time o

“One night, just one night, the Black Army annihilated the City of Athace completely. After the great warlord of Athace had died, the Pharaoh became defenceless, Nezeron's horde forced him out of the land and burnt down the palace”“The other rulers of the cities tried to fight back and a tremendous civil war started, dividing Egypt and making it what it is today”“Now Nezeron was already very close to achieving his great plans, the Athacians have been destroyed and the throne of Egypt, empty. All he needed to do was to perform the Ta transference ritual one more time and he has it all”“But the sacrifice for the ritual this time around was the young prince in his custody, the little boy which one of his late wives gave birth to. He was supposed to take the boy to the Pyramid with his sorceress, me, to perform the last ritual eight months ago, but he failed…”“Yes, I and my Cytorex army came to take the boy away from him”, Urshuz cut into Isis's narration.Isis quickly paused and took

Isis continued shivering as she locked her eyes on the rage on Tydeus's face. As she continued shuddering, moving backwards she realized she had already reached the wall behind her. If she planned to run away before, now she is screwed.“Tyd… Tydeus… Tydeus, please. I beg you. I never knew it would happen like…” “SHUT UP!!!” Tydeus shunned her unexpectedly.“Look at me!” He shouted at her as he held her arm forcefully against the wall.A sharp gasp immediately escaped Isis's lips as she was pinned against the wall, a perfect position for her to be killed.“Tydeus, I beg you! You are hurting me! Please!” Isis screamed frighteningly. With the rage in Tydeus's eyes, he was going to kill her in the dungeon, no doubt.“Tydeus, stop it! It's probably not her fault! Let her go!” Urshuz shouted to Tydeus again.“Then whose fault is it!” Tydeus shouted angrily, replying to Urshuz.“Do you know what it feels like to have your parents and family killed in one night?”“Do you know what it feels

CHAPTER 60
It was another morning again in the great city of Giza. The villages, which were once darkened by the dusk, became brightened by the dawn as the sun rose and set itself dominantly in the sky.The streets, which were once covered by the wetness and moisture of the rainfall the night before, became dry and calm, leaving only the dew of the damp air on the leaves and body of the trees in the environment. The air was cool and filled with the subtle fragrance of damp reeds, while the dragonflies, grasshoppers and some other field insects began to flit lazily over the grassy surfaces of the fields. The birds of the sky were also awakened with delicate chirps, their song weaving into the rhythmic rustle of leaves as the morning breeze glided through. The sunrise has never been this promising in the land of Giza for a long time, or perhaps not.The villagers continue to spread their wet clothes and belongings under the bright morning sun. But as they do that, they better be prepared to join
