RISE OF THE DRAGON HEIR: from amnesia to ascension/Lord Comfort
"You are soon to be my wife and this is what I catch you doing with another man?!" Jack said in a lewd tone, as if he meant to seduce Victoria there and then. "I am not 'another man' and Victoria is still my wife!" Saint retorted, trying to contain his anger. Jack's face contorted into a deep frown at the sound of Saint's voice. He stepped closer toward them, staring Saint dead in the eye. "I have no idea how you survived but let me make it clear to you that Victoria is my 'wife' she will be married to me again in just a few days after she has divorced you!" Jack uttered in anger. Saint's gaze fell on Victoria at Jack's last words. His eyes seemed to ask if Victoria actually wanted to go on with the divorce but instead of saying anything, she let out a loud sigh and let her eyes drop slowly to the floor. The hurt that coursed through her at that point prevented her from meeting Saint's gaze and she couldn't walk away from him either. Saint, sensing the way Victoria felt, placed

Victoria slapped her hand across her face she sank into her bed. She had been the one to tell Saint off, yet, the pain and anguish that toppled inside her, threatening to fall over felt like she had been the one rejected by him. Glad that she had freed him from her family that always caused him nothing but torments and embarrassment, deep down, she couldn't deny the gut wrenching feeling that she wasn't doing the right thing. "Vic?" She heard Jack's voice pierce through her thoughts. "What's the matter with you, Vic? That bastard is gone out of our lives finally, why don't you open the door and let's celebrate it 'the way new couples do' instead of sulking." Jack said as he continued to knock on the door. How in the world had he let Victoria lock him out of her room. "You're the bastard here, Jack Sparrow and don't you even dare try to touch me because if you do. I'm going to smack the hell out of you." Victoria spat out at him in anger amidst the rising and falling of her chest.

At the Zlate's villa, almost two days later, everyone present was stunned by the presence of Doctor Vincent with even more gifts for not only Victoria this time but for the whole family. All through out his stay, he didn't give a single hint that he had come to see Saint. "Please come on in sir!" Lady Erica gestured towards the living room as she lit up a smile on her face. She had immediately recognised him from the wedding. Lady Erica had been tending to the flowers in the gardening just to get rid of the boredom that was gnawing at her when she was approached by one of the guards who alerted about the presence of the man waiting to be received at the entrance of the villa. Lady Erica's eyes lit up. She dropped the scissors she held in her hands to the floor and rushed to meet Doctor Vincent. "Oh my, it's so wonderful to have you here...at our home!" Lady Erica said to him, as though enthralled by his very presence at their home."Please make your way in!" She said to him befo

RISE OF THE DRAGON HEIR: from amnesia to ascension/Lord Comfort
The day had come when Victoria was supposed to invite Saint over and hand the divorce papers over to him but she was yet to meet with the family's lawyer so he could prepare the divorce papers that she would present to Saint. She loved Saint so much that she could not see herself serving him their divorce papers, but she had soon forgotten that the family she belonged to, hated Saint's every gut and they wanted him out of their lives for good. Over dinner, The clinking of silverware against porcelain echoed softly through the opulent dining room. The Zlate family was gathered for their customary Sunday dinner, a tradition that hid the tension beneath their calm and elegant appearance.Victoria sat at the far end of the table, her hands resting lightly on the napkin in her lap. Her mother, sat to her right, her sharp eyes darting between Victoria and her plate. Across from her, Lady Erica, radiated an air of authority. She held a glass of red wine delicately, her lips curving into a

The hum of the car engine filled the silence as Victoria sat in the back seat, staring blankly out the window. The city lights blurred past her— their glow dim through the haze of her tears. Her chest felt tight, and each breath that she took was a struggle as waves of emotion overwhelmed her. She clutched a tissue in her hand, crumpling it as if trying to hold herself together. The chauffeur, an older man named Mr. Bernard, glanced at her through the rearview mirror, his face etched with concern. He had been with the Zlate family for years and had seen Victoria grow up. Now, seeing her so broken, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy.“Miss Victoria,” he said gently, choosing his words carefully, she was in a state of deep pain and didn't want to hurt her more, “are you alright?”She shook her head, unable to speak. The weight of her family’s expectations, the thought of losing Saint, and the looming decision she didn’t want to make pressed down on her like a boulder. Silent s

The restaurant buzzed softly with chatter as Victoria sat alone at a quiet corner table. Her fingers nervously played with the edges of an envelope resting on the table. The delicious smell of garlic and fresh bread filled the air, but she hardly noticed. Her heart pounded with a mix of fear and anticipation, her thoughts spinning over what she was about to do.She hadn’t seen Saint in days, and now, here she was, about to sever the bond that meant more to her than anyone could understand. It wasn’t fair—none of this was fair—but she told herself that this was her decision, that she wasn’t caving to her family’s relentless pressure. Even if that wasn’t entirely true. When the restaurant door opened, she glanced up instinctively. The sight that met her eyes made her heart stop. Saint walked in, and for a moment, Victoria couldn’t breathe. This wasn’t the man she remembered. He had always been handsome, but now there was an air about him—something almost otherworldly. His skin was

RISE OF THE DRAGON HEIR: from amnesia to ascension/Lord Comfort
Never in Saint's life had he envisaged that a day like this would come. The moment, Victoria stepped out of the restaurant, it felt like all the air inside him had been sucked out. He buried his head in his hands as his gaze fell onto the floor. "I can't believe that this is happening....why is she doing this to us?!" Saint asked himself, buy there was no answer to his lingering question. He saw the look of pain and agony in Victoria's face as she retrieved the paper from the table. All the years he had been married to Victoria, he had never seen that look on her face. Seeing that look now, on her face, made his stomach churn. "Why is she doing this to herself, even. It just doesn't make any sense. Ire obvious that she does not want this, so why is she doing it?" Saint questioned himself again. He was unaware that other people in the restaurant could hear what he thought he was saying inside his head and had now dream attention to himself. He let his hands slide slowly down his

The blow to his head had been so swift that he almost couldn't tell what had hit him. Saint reached for the space in front of him, trying to hold on to the air as he tried to provide oxygen to his lungs. The pain from the back of his head, coursed through his whole body, causing him to go stiff. Saint suddenly stopped reaching for the air in from of him and went limp. "You really thought that you could get away with what rightfully belonged to me, didn't you?!" A voice thundered. The man who had waited calmly for Saint to alight his car before striking the deadly hit to his head stood hovering over Saint. He threw the baseball bat that was now covered with Saint's blood at the tip into a corner and got down on one knee before he grabbed a handful of Saint's shirt and pulled Saint toward him. "Pitiful...." The man spat into Saint's face with hate. Soon, the men who had occupied the four cars began to alight the cars until two dozens of men had surrounded Saint. "Oh c'mon, I kno

Victoria sat on the edge of her bed, her knees pulled up to her chest, staring blankly at the floor. In her trembling hand was a half-empty bottle of wine, the red liquid sloshing gently as she took another sip. The bitter taste burned her throat, but she didn’t care. Tears streamed down her face, like a river and her makeup that was once carefully applied, was now a smudged mess. The divorce papers sat on the bedside table. It was still damp from the tears she’d cried onto them earlier. Seeing Saint’s signature felt like a dagger to her heart, a cruel reminder of what she had just destroyed. Victoria replayed the scene from the restaurant in her mind over and over again. The way Saint had looked at her—pleading, wounded, yet still composed—was etched into her memory. And the worst part? The moment he signed the papers, the moment he let her go without another fight, a part of her had hoped he wouldn’t. A part of her wanted him to tear the papers apart, to refuse to give up on h

RISE OF THE DRAGON HEIR: from amnesia to ascension/Lord Comfort
Strolling into the kitchen to see Jack Sparrow standing over the sink and drinking water from the faucet irritated Victoria to her guts. What got her irritated even more was that there were maids in the kitchen watching him as he paraded the place Luke owned. Victoria watched in anger as he moved toward the fridge to retrieve an apple from it. Her face was already steaming red from the scene unfolding in front of her, and as if things wouldn't get worse, he pretended to throw the half-eaten apple onto the floor and ordered one of the maids to pick it up and trash it into the bin. "What the heck!" Victoria thundered, making her presence known after standing behind the door. All eyes turned to look at her including the maid that had been Instructed to toss the apple away—she stood frozen on the spot with her eyes wide open as if she had been caught in the middle of committing a crime. "Were you going to toss that Apple, young woman?!" Victoria asked angrily, walking up to the maid
