Chapter 61
Moments later, Richard arrived at Christopher’s house in the latter’s luxurious ride. “We’re here,” Christopher informed as the driver turned into the driveway, leading them to the front of the house. He had brought Richard to see his son, intending for Richard to gain a deeper understanding of the boy’s condition. Seconds later, the car came to a halt and both men alighted. “Please come with me,” Christopher led Richard into the room where his son lay. They walked into a large room, the beeps of medical monitors echoing softly in the room. The young boy was still on the bed, his frail body barely lifting with each shallow breath. There was also a nasal cannula fixed in his nose for delivering oxygen directly to him. His skin was very pale and his sunken cheeks made him look even fragile, with dark circles underneath his closed eyes. Next to the boy was a woman seated. She was lost in thoughts when they walked in that she didn’t even realize. “Darling,” Christopher tapped he

Chapter 62
Richard carefully reached for a small leather pouch in his kit and opened it. In it was an array of neatly arranged tools and vials. He took a slender pair of forceps and used them to pick up a small, round pill from a compartment lined with velvet. He needed to administer the Curexol pill to the boy. But the boy was unconscious, how would he swallow?Richard assessed the situation in his mind for a moment. Just then, he crushed the pill into a fine powder, mixing it with a small amount of sterile water from a vial in his kit. With a syringe, he drew the liquid mixture before gently removing the tubing from the boy’s nostril. “He can’t breathe without it. What are you doing?!” Christopher’s wife shouted but her husband held her back.Richard carefully tilted the boy’s head slightly to the side to prevent choking as the child’s chest heaved faintly, his body instinctively struggling to draw air.“Breathe,” he murmured in the ears of the boy. And with delicate precision, he inserted t

Chapter 63
“Thank you, Mr Richard. Here’s the herb,” Christopher said, handing over a small wooden box to Richard. Richard took it and placed it on the table. Opening the box revealed the rare Wyrmroot herb. Richard recognized it straight away. Its special scent was enough to confirm its authenticity. Richard took a second to inhale the precious scent of the herb, a wave of satisfaction washing over him as his lips curled into a small smile. Now, he was one step closer to collecting all ten essential herbs he needed to accomplish his goal.He closed the box and turned to Christopher. “Thank you, Mr Christopher,” he said, gesturing for a handshake. Christopher accepted it firmly. “Indeed, I owe you more gratitude. This herb isn’t worth even half of what you have done for me.”Well, nothing is truly worth as much as a life. With that, Richard grabbed his healing kit and prepared to leave. “Thank you, Mr Richard,” a faint feminine voice from across the room said. “We owe you one.”Richard loo

Chapter 64
Without wasting any time, Richard burst into the room. In a blur of motion, he darted toward the man with incredible speed and precision and launched a heavy punch on his face. The punch struck him so deeply that he immediately crashed into that ground. The child let out a terrified gasp, her eyes wide with fear, before a loud, panicked wail erupted from her lips. She ran far from the fugitive, her small body trembling uncontrollably. As she ran, the fugitive shot up on his knees, crawling with fast motion to grab the little girl again. “Ehhhh! Please leave me alone,” the little girl screamed, her heart pounding hard in her chest. Richard immediately moved forward, his leg whipping out a swift and powerful kick on the fugitive’s head, sending him crashing back to the floor with a sickening thud. Richard rushed to the little girl and bent to her level. He held her upper arms, trying to calm her and stable her trembling self. “Don’t worry, you’re safe now. Go to the living room

Chapter 65
Delilah and Helen had arrived at the legion headquarters not long ago. Delilah herself went to her office to attend to other matters when a sudden knock snapped her focus, the knock sounding urgent.“My Goddess,” Helen’s voice came in from behind the door.“Come in.”Helen quickly opened the door. She bowed slightly then began, “News just came in that the fugitive’s body has been found.”Delilah’s head tilted, her expression shifting from calm to steely. She quickly rose from her chair, “Let’s go.”Helen gave a curt nod, stepping aside as Delilah strode purposefully toward the door. And without hesitation, they rushed back to the scene. As they arrived at the scene, a member of the legion immediately approached them to give the report in detail. “My Goddess,” he said, bowing slightly. “The body of the fugitive was found dumped not too far from here. And after inspection, we realized that the cause of his death was a shattered heart.”“A shattered heart?” Delilah’s voice was sharp

Chapter 66
Richard opened his door, expecting maybe one of the legion members who had just searched his villa, only to see Delilah at his doorstep. His face contorted in a slight but noticeable frown, wondering what the unexpected visit was about. For a brief moment, his brows remained furrowed as he processed her unexpected appearance. But his expression softened almost immediately, and he took a step back, opening the door wider for her if she wanted to come in. “Delilah,” he said calmly, his voice betraying no real surprise. “To what do I owe this unexpected visit?”Delilah’s eyes narrowed as she stepped forward, irritated by his composed reaction. Irritated by the way he made it seem as though her presence was of little or no significance. As the nation’s top War Goddess, she was unaccustomed to being ignored or treated casually. She crossed her arms, her lips pressed into a tight line. She opened her mouth to express her displeasure, but paused abruptly. She didn’t bother to say anyth

The following day, Lydia suddenly received a call from an unknown number. Before Lydia could reply, he hung up. “Okay, sir… Sir? Sir?” she called before realizing he had already hung up. Unknowingly to her, he

Chapter 68
“You can’t afford even the cheapest one here, Richard. Are you here to waste our time?” Uninterested in engaging her, Richard didn’t reply to her mockery. He simply said, “Just get me a new salesperson.”“You haven’t changed a bit,” she sneered, her lips curling into a disdainful smile. “Still so full of yourself. Why not humble yourself so we can at least spare you a few cents?”“At Least for the sake of family.”Clearly unbothered, Richard stood up calmly, and proceeded to walk away like Tessa wasn’t there. She blocked his path, and before she could say a word, Richard gently, yet firmly pushed her off his path with his hand. He was completely uninterested in wasting his time. He went over to the receptionist. “Please, I'd like a different sales assistant.”“Is anything the problem, sir?”“No, I’d just prefer a different sales assistant,” he simply stated, his expression serious. She agreed and immediately placed a call for a new sales assistant. And in a second, the new assist

Richard waited at the reception on Halle’s suggestion while she went to make sure the car was made ready for Richard to drive away. On the other hand, Tessa was still frozen in the finance office, as she was yet to recover from the shock. Suddenly, she snapped out of her thoughts and stormed out of the office to seek Solace in her suitor who had been pursuing her. “I need to find Jordan,” she muttered, checking everywhere for him. Finally, she found him. “Jordan,” she called with a sad, childlike voice. “Yes, Tess,” he answered, turning to her with a sultry smile. But suddenly, his brows snapped together, “what’s wrong? Why do you look like this?” “There’s a man…” she paused, pulling the corners of her lips down in a sad expression. “He… he was very cruel and mean to me. He…” “Who?” Jordan interrupted, his face twisted into a frown. “Who treated my baby girl badly?” He was ready to meet whoever it was, and teach them the hardest lesson of their life. “Take me t

Chapter 70
In reality, the manager’s decision was influenced by Richard’s Supreme black card. Having been a manager for years, it was only natural for him to recognize the card that represented the highest level clientele of any bank. To top it all, it wasn’t a black card from just any bank, it was from Fern bank! Not to forget that only five people in the entire Kora owned one. “Please accept this token from me,” he said, smiling brightly. Richard smiled and nodded graciously. “Thank you for this generous gift,” he said with a warm but formal tone. The manager, sensing an opportunity, stepped a bit closer. “Mr Richard, perhaps we could discuss future collaborations over dinner sometime?” Aware of the significance of Richard’s card, he wanted to forge a relationship with Richard. But, sadly, he was politely declined. Richard smiled politely. “I appreciate the offer, but I must decline,” he stated. “My schedule is quite demanding.” “Oh,” the manager was clearly disappointed
