STOOP TO CONQUER
THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS /Dadalifted
Opportunity they say comes but once. Even though the demon locked up inside an underground cell wasn't aware of this saying, nevertheless, he understood that he may never see another chance like this again. Because he was at the threshold zone of the tunnel, he had witnessed everything. He saw Kaul possessing Judas, saw the human convulsing, and then becoming unconscious. And without being told, he realized it was time to take his leave before he woke up. Shrek dipped his hand into one of the pockets of his tunic and brought out a fat, long cigar. He stared at it for a while and then turned towards a guard at the entrance of the gate leading to his cell. "I need a fire to light my cigar, Ammon-san."Ammon was a short, ugly, and old demon with wrinkling skin and a toothless mouth, and his bald head reflected the light shining through an opening in the tunnel roof. "Why don't you start a fire to light your cigar, Shrek?" Ammon asked back.Shrek snorted silently. He had noticed the taun

As the commander of this mission, Shifter was seen floating ahead of the rest of the demons. For the first time in a million years, Shifter had the chance to impress Shrek, and for this, she was ready to give more than her best. Nothing must ever go wrong. Like all obsessors, Shifter worships the ground that Shrek stepped on, she could do anything for him. Laid down her life if needed. Isn't that the greatest sacrifice? The greatest love? After some minutes, Shifter arrived at the interior section of a white-painted classroom, and her demon's eyes darted around in search of the target. No ghost nor hologram. Where could they be hidden? Shifter growled as she stepped towards a space beside Jimmy and then placed her palm on the chair."Where is the ghost, chair?""Left through the window," the chair muttered. Not with a physical mouth, but through some kind of electric display of light and shapes."So, where are they now?" "The wind informed me that they entered into the school fo
POLICE AND THIEVES
THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS /Dadalifted
While growing up, one of Terry's favorite games is a game of police and thieves. Some section players will act as the police while the other sections act as the thieves. The police will pursue the thieves, shooting them with toy guns until they are all killed or captured. Never in Terry's imagination had he ever believed this game would be of use one day. "On the floor now, Terry," Holo's scream jolted Terry out of his wandering thought."Now shoot towards nine O'clock, Terry ."Terry turned towards his left side, pulled the trigger, and sprayed the bullets of his gun blindly."Good. Two are down. Go back to safety now."Terry immediately rolled back to the back of a fallen tree. "Do you see the last demon, Holo?""No, I don't. But that doesn't mean he is not there. Remain covered until I tell you otherwise."Terry grunted out loudly. This is the hardest part of his mission. Shooting blindly. How on earth will he survive against these demons when he can't see them?"I have seen the l

Shrek arrived immediately the ambulance carrying Jimmy and Terry left the school premises. Shrek would have arrived earlier, but the most wanted demon was looking for another host and he only came back to Bobby when all his search proved abortive. Because of the overwhelming smell of Sulphur, Shrek knew some demons just left before he arrived. Oh...hell. He was lucky to have escaped being seen. Shrek soon saw Bobby among the chattering students, and since he had previously possessed him, the second possession was without any drama. As soon as Shrek possessed Bobby, Bobby stood up, gawked around, and began to walk out of the class. "Wait, Bobby.""What for?"Our mathematics teacher is on her way to our class."Bobby turned towards the source of the voice. He was the scrawny-looking boy who tried to stop him from stabbing Terry. Bobby raised a brow and then offered what could be likened to a sardonic smile. "Who cares?""We have a mathematic text today, Bobby. Have you forgotten?"Bo
THE DEMON'S ANVIL
THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS /Dadalifted
After being interrogated by some officers, John was granted bail but he was warned from stepping out of the city and then instructed to be available for further interrogation whenever the need arose. A few minutes later, John was seen walking with a lack of alacrity out of the police station. In a few hours, the happy-looking teacher was a shadow of himself. "Hey, John. Come over here."He turned towards the source of the voice and a dry smile immediately appeared on his face. "Come in and let me drive you home. "John pulled the jeep door open and hopped inside. "Nice of you to come to pick me up, sir."The man on the wheel displayed an impeccable set of white teeth. "Don't mention, John. I'm happy to be of help."John breathed out loud as he eased himself into the front chair. He jerked the seatbelt, fixed it into the available hole, and then gestured to the man to drive out of the police station's car park. "I heard everything that happened, John. Be at ease. I have settled it."
A DANGEROUS MISSION

Ale found it difficult to breathe. Not that he had a breathing problem or a weak heart. His difficulty in breathing was the result of his troubled mind. Shifter had been sent to her death, and Kaul had warned against sending any demons to help her. I can't stand and watch, Ale thought as he walked to and fro inside the haunted church. He realized he couldn't just fold his hand and watch Shifter walk to her death. He must act now. He can't risk her dying when her death will destroy everything in him. He had vowed to protect Shifter with his life and this he was bound to do. Let Kaul go to hell if he wants. He realized any action he takes will amount to going against Kaul's order. Did he have a choice? When he can no longer bear the torment in his heart, Ale summoned some demons to his presence. An action he ought not to make."One of our comrades had embarked on a suicidal mission," Ale informed his loyalist demons. "I need some volunteers to help in protecting her and making sure she

Cynthia peeks through the keyhole on the door, and her heart nearly flies out of her chest when she sees the doctor picking up a surgical knife and then wobbling towards Jimmy. What is Doctor Jason up to? Without a moment to think, Cynthia jerked the door open and raced towards the hunching doctor. "Stop, Doctor Jason," she screamed, but the doctor seemed to be deaf to her plead. Out of desperation, Cynthia picked up a tray along the way and then smacked it on the doctor's back before he could do real damage."Ouch!" The doctor said as he staggered and fell. Blood trickled from Jimmy's neck from where the doctors had stabbed him. Fortunately enough, it was just a superficial wound. Why did everyone want to kill this boy? Cynthia asked no one in particular. From what she heard, Jimmy was attacked by his teacher for no reason. Now, a well-behaved doctor was about to cut his head off from his neck. Something is going on. While Cynthia was lost in thought, Terry and Holo floated throug
YOU ARE A MAN, DIE LIKE ONE
THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS /Dadalifted
John was having a nice dream. The kind of dream you hate to be woken up from. So when he heard a noise inside his room, John woke with anger and glared around. A moment later, his eyes became huge when he discovered the source of the noise. "I hate killing people in their sleep," the man standing in front of John with a pointed gun said. "And did you know why?" He asked and then resumed his speech without waiting for John's response, "because I would hate to be killed in my sleep as well. And the reason is because I would love to see the face of my killer so that I can haunt him or her in my next life."John stared at the invader. Apart from his eyes and nose, all his body parts were paralyzed and his brain refused to give any command to wake them up. After a growl-kind of a laugh, the assassin asked, "Won't you ask me who am I, who sent me, or how I gained access to your well-guarded house?"John stammered back, "I...I may not...not know how you entered, but I know..know who you ar
THE RENOVATION
THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS /Dadalifted
The first visitors to the abandoned church were the cleaning agency, and before the truck from the Shoplift store arrived, the dirty church was swept, washed, and then sprayed with nice fragrances. In a few hours, everywhere was as clean as the road to heaven. The goods delivered consist of pieces of audio equipment, sets of drums, speakers, microphones, sets of furniture, a video projector, and lightning. Based on Judas' instructions, everything was packed inside the room attached to the church. As soon as the Shoplift store's truck drove out of the compound, another truck drove in, it consisted of the builders that were assigned to renovate the church, their workers, and the materials needed to get their work done. Throughout the time humans spend in the church, Ale and the rest of the demons sit as quietly as a demon can, and their eyes watch the ongoing project. After making sure everything needed was available, Judas gestured to Ale to come with him to a deserted part of the chu

Apart from the new paint on the wall, the house was exactly the way Terry remembered it. Same furniture, same electronics, same tiles, and the same stench of alcohol and medicines. His stepdad was sitting at his favorite position before the television, his eyes red as a result of excessive alcohol, and saliva was drooling out of the corner of his mouth as he screamed at the rugby player who missed a golden chance. As for his mother, she was sitting on a chair at the end of the sitting room. Her face was pale and soft moaning occasionally escaped from her partly close mouth. "This is where I grew up," Terry informed Holo as they stepped into the well-furnished sitting room. The ball of light turned around and then offered a smile, "except for the dirtiness and the nauseating smell, this is not bad for a room.""Well, it wasn't like this in the beginning," Terry said as the memory of his childhood flowed into his mind. His mother was a strong and energetic woman, and his father was a l
