Author's POV
"My dad has more cars than your dad, Oliver!" Mia, the youngest kid said. Oliver argued back, "Well, my mom has lots of super fancy shoes, even from Paris!" Emma, stood up and raised his shoulders up, "You two are losers. My dad has a plane, and my mom has a big boat. Top that!" He boasted proudly. "But my dad said I would take over his company when he's gone. His company is huge. I will be the boss and make everyone bow down to me!" Oliver argued, seemingly jealous of the rest. "Why does Clara never show up? My mommy said her daddy is poor and locks her in a prison!" Mia recalled and giggled, arranging the scattered toy house. "That is true. My daddy calls her father a rag. He's a broke officer. Haha!" Emma laughed scornfully like he had an in-depth idea of what he was saying.°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° The conference room was quiet. Everyone was either chained to their phone screen or their laptops or making calls or reading books or… Amanda sat there uncomfortably. She felt like a little worm in the midst of birds. Even among her own family, she felt unnoticed. What would she be doing? Her husband didn't own a company or a firm. He didn't even own a business. She felt ashamed of herself for being married to the broke man. But deep inside, she knew that she loved him. He showered her with love and affection. "Amanda!" Laura finally called out to her daughter who was seated on the extreme end of the seat beside a wall mirror. "Yes, mother." "Now you have seen how worthless of a man your husband is. We all warned you and gave you better choices, but you rejected it. You rejected your family over a cop! Where did that lead you?" "Back to us!" Derek spoke up. "Right back to us. Tell me, Amanda, did you think fate was going to work in your favor? There's no fucking thing as fate. We all worked hard for our money, thanks to mother!" Amanda's heart kept getting stabbed. Her daughter. Her dear daughter was gone! What she needed now was a hug and comfort, but she got the total opposite. "But… but mother, he's still my husband. We're legally married." Amanda tried to defend. "I will break the marriage if I have to. I have the money and the power. And I will do it! You're tarnishing the image of the Kensington family!" "Now, listen, everyone!" Laura called out and smacked the table thrice, getting everyone's attention. "This is not the proper time to discuss this, but it will be brief. We are having a decline in sales these past few weeks! Our clients are scared of the ongoing kidnapping tragedy and many have cancelled their meetings with Kensington's company." Everyone listened, paying rapt attention. How they respected their mother. "But we have a big deal that we are on the verge of losing and we cannot afford to let that happen! A deal with the Clifford's. You all know that this is the biggest and richest company in all of Pennsylvania. They own all the money in this city!" Everyone was dead silent. Laura was right. Clifford's family was the wealthiest. Though no one ever knew the CEO or ever got to meet the founder of the company, they knew that whomever he or she was, they operated like gods. Like the wealthy gods of Egypt. "Mother's right. We can't afford to lose our deal with them. It's going to be the biggest lost of our lives and a shame on our name and on this company!" Kate, Derek's wife rang. "Good! Now, you all know of the billion dollar building that this company is currently working on…" "Fuck! I'm super hyped and pumped! I checked their update online and the progress is massive. I mean, the architecture is freaking wild!" Emerald echoed excitingly. "I wonder what they're building. They haven't disclosed it to the public yet!" "I'm glad you are all keeping yourselves updated. But we need more than that! We need to make sure we strike that deal with the Clifford's." Laura leaned forward, interlocked her finger and placed her arms on the table. "We need someone who can push through with this massive project. Someone with the guts to go over to their company and submit our proposal!" Laura finally said. She looked very serious and strict as hell. "But we already submitted the proposal, didn't we? And we got a positive response! They said they were going to strike the deal!" Parker asked confusingly. "And what has happened? Nothing! It's been 3 weeks since we got their response and we have recieved absolutely nothing! They want to withdraw. We need to act now! We should be the ones to source that project with their building materials! We must!" "Maybe we should be a bit more patient! Maybe they might reconsider!" "No! There's no reconsidering. If we….." As their heavy conversations muffled into the background, Amanda sat idle like a wood not having anything to say. She felt worthless. No one was talking about Clara? She must have been wondering. Her daughter. Her hands shook as she tried to call 911 to report the matter, but she almost forgot that her husband was an officer. She scrolled through her phone to remind herself of her beautiful girl. She knew her husband would do something. Or would he? Silence suddenly fell upon the room as the glass door slided open. Emerging into the room was Nathan. He looked like a mess. His shirt was covered in coffee stains. Though his arm was bandaged, blood stains still peeked through. As he walked casually into the room, everyone looked at him in disgust. Kate brought out her hand fan and turned it on. James kept looking sternly and fiercely at Nathan. His cold dead stare could freeze time itself. "I'm sorry I'm late. My car broke down." His soft, yet deep voice echoed across the room as he pulled out a chair to sit. "Where is my granddaughter, Nathan Wade?" Laura finally broke the silence harshly. Nathan remained silent, the guilt of his failure pulling his head down. He was an officer, so, he tried to maintain his cool and look into Laura's eyes even though his heart was bleeding. Laura suddenly stood up and stormed her hand on the table and screamed! "Where is my granddaughter, Nathan? Where is Clara?"Nathan's POV That question shook me. It broke me right to the ground and swept me off my feet. I had no answer. I didn't know where my daughter was. "Answer the goddamn question, you moron. Where is our girl?" James fired ruthlessly. He was the one monster that hated me so much. He hated me to the point that he was willing to kill me so he could breathe well. I was like a stench from a gutter in his presence. I knew this because he never attended my wedding. None of them did anyways. He even cut me with a knife when I played with his kids three Christmases ago when we still lived here. I called Emma to myself and gave her a present, along with the other kids. They liked it. They were still kids and they were just so adorable. As adorable as my baby girl, Clara. James got into the room and opened fire at me, asking me if I planned on stealing his child. Before I could give a reply, he grabbed a butter kinfe and charged towards me, telling me to stay away from his kids and
Author's POV "What the heck is that mother? Are you going to let this dead dog insult me?" James asked, his eyes brimming with fire. "I said, hold it. Go, sit down. I'll handle this myself!" Laura said calmly, her voice cooling the hot air. James looked Nathan dead in the eye. If he had the chance, he would literally rip Nathan into two. But Nathan didn't even flinch. The charisma he displayed was very strange and no one, not even he himself would have expected it. They say a warrior isn't determined in his fist, but in his mind. Nathan fulfilled that saying 100 percent. "That was a courageous talk, Nathan Wade, I applaud you!" Laura began. "You've got guts. I never knew. That is amazing! We could have used your guts in many ways long ago!" "Now, listen, the both of you!" Laura said, pointing to Nathan and James who was still staring at Nathan deadly. His stare could freeze hell itself. "Nathan Wade here has just brought up a challenge. He called upon the James' Family,
Author's POV Nathan stood at the entrance of Gothern, his childhood home, after 15 long years. The imposing mansion, a symbol of opulence, loomed before him. He couldn't help but marvel at the transformation that had taken place in his absence. The once familiar facade had evolved into a modern marvel, a testament to his father's immense wealth. "Hmmm…" he smelled the fresh air that swept through his nose as a soft breeze blew. That didn't change. It was as refreshing as it had always been. The grand entrance welcomed him with sleek, automated doors that glided open effortlessly as he approached. The marble floor beneath his feet, once cold and uninviting, now radiated warmth with an underfloor heating system. Nathan couldn't ignore the lush scent of fresh flowers. How he missed the sweet smell of each and every one of them. Childhood memories returned. As he moved deeper into the mansion, Nathan couldn't help but notice the technological marvels that adorned every corner. Sm
Nathan's POV It was 7:49 in the morning. I had no sleep. My daughter was out there in the hands of unknown men and I was here in the luxury of my house, sitting comfortably. All through the night, I and Arthur planned the next day. Finding my daughter, avenging myself. No Alpha would sleep when a member of his pack goes missing, especially not his little cub. He would tear the world down to find that cub. I had my wound treated and my hair trimmed the night before. I was treated like a King. A fucking rich King. I quickly took a shower and got dressed. My room was heaven on earth. It was as large as the whole rooms in my old house combined. Besides the space in the house, everything in the house was automated, so there was little need for a maid. As I opened my cabinet, I was confused as to which cloth and shoe I should pick from. There were tons of expensive clothes and the most expensive shoes lying right in front of me. I stood in front of the grand, huge mirror as I
Author's POV Nathan sat calmly on his seat, his face covered with a black mask and dark shades. No one. Not even a smart person would be able to recognize that this was Nathan Wade, the broke ass cop. A tall muscular man got into Nathan's office and immediately lowered his head low to greet Nathan. "James Noah, am I right?" Nathan asked professionally. This was the first thing he was taught to do. Communication. Asking questions was the best way to display power as a CEO. Talk less, ask more! "Y.. yes sir. You're right. James Noah from the Kensington family." He answered Nathan very respectfully. He remained standing where he was. He probably was awestruck at seeing the mysterious CEO of Clifford's Arch Company popularly known as CAC Ltd. Seeing his body and hearing his deep cracking voice was enough for James. He didn't need to see his face to feel more than special. Very, very few people are allowed to see the CEO of CAC. "Take your shoes off. They may get my rug dirty!"
Nathan's POV I stood there, unsure of what to do. All I knew was that I was broken, broken beyond repair! That was my wife, the woman on whose finger I put a ring on. She was smooching and kissing another man. Was this all part of the plan? Coming to Laura's house to make love to another man? How long had she been seeing this his behind my back? I had many questions. She quickly jerked off when she heard her name. The man turned to look at me. The man was quite a muscular man. He has a perfectly shaped face and he looked very muscular. He… he looked familiar, like a celebrity or a popular figure. "Hey. Who's this? Did you order something?" The dude asked. Fuck! Was he referring to me as a delivery man? How cold and wicked could men be? "Cut it! That's my husband." Amanda said, feeling a bit of remorse as she saw my broken demeanor! She couldn't face me, but she wasn't really sorry. She stayed there in the same spot, allowing tbe fucking idiot to caress her breasts right u
Author's POV "Sir, are you sure of what you are saying? Cause yes, we could do it and in just 1 hour, Alfredo's company will crash!" Arthur asked, concerned. He was skeptical about his boss's request. But he had to obey at all costs, besides, it was payback time! Time to make sure the Alfredo's company pays dearly. It's been 7 days since Nathan Wade signed the deal go find his daughter. He had just three days left. The more time passed, the more depressed he got. He couldn't bear thinking of what could be happening to Clara at the moment. All he could do was cry and cry. Arthur did all the work! He kept seizing every opportunity to find Clara. He got calls from a lot of scammers claiming to have his girl! I mean, who doesn't want a $5 Million sent to his account? Added to his depression, his wife was getting married to another man. That was to him the biggest blow. He felt really dejected. Well, he was going to scatter the marriage. He would make Amamda pay! "Well, what do yo
Author's POV They arrived at Nathan's room with Nathan locking the door from behind not wanting any interruptions from Arthur. Nathan, with all the energy and anger in his heart, over to Abigail, sliding her arms around her from behind as he began the kiss from her nape then down her shoulder. Abigail chuckled at his desperation, taking forceful steps to reach the bed. She turned around facing him, the distance between them thin already with little to no gap spaced between them. She switched positions by grabbing Nathan's collar and pushing him to sit on the bed. Abigail's gaze at him lowered completely with a naughty smirk plastered on her lips as she went on her knees, her hand slowly unbuckling his belt before taking it off completely. Nathan's erected manhood that was repressed bulged out of his tight boxers. Abigail's lips and facials salivated at the length, he’s one big man down there. She won’t regret turning him to her puppet. She removed the boxer letting the di
