CHAPTER 3

"Bergh" blood spurted from my mouth, my insides were in turmoil from the many spears stuck in me, I was still in my wolf form which made this uncomfortable to be in.

I decided the first thing to do was to remove the dagger to my heart with my paw, and after that, the spears were a problem, I would have to change back but some of my bones and ribs would be heavily distorted and broken.

As soon as the dagger was out, I shifted back, my human form was monstrous, some bones sticking out and some inwardly piercing my organs, how am I still alive?!!

I removed the seven spears stuck to me and what happened next surprised me, the bones and wounds on my body were getting put back in place and healed. My internal organs healed almost immediately, at first I was utterly shocked until I remembered what that shadow had said.

I couldn't be happy, I looked around me, ashes were everywhere, the house I grew up in, was burned down to the ground with nothing left, and the woman who raised me, as well as the man, my mother and father, weren't recognizable no more. I want to find her, I want to kill her, the heavy pain and burden in my heart that I feel, I want her to feel it too…

I walked towards the burnt body, now ashes, of Esther, my mind wasn't straight, no matter how many times you think you can handle the death of a loved one when they die, all you are left with is pain, sorrow, anger and despair.

My knees gave out, falling to the ground as my hands touched the ashes, almost immediately, the scenery changed, the surprise was yet another thing to me, why was today so messed up.

The scenery changed from parts of her life, to when she met Michael and then the scenery changed to a moment where there was a commotion outside, they had gotten up.

There was a loud noise and then two people talking, one male and one female from what I could tell, then after, there were footsteps leaving, soon after there were knocks on the door, it was rushed, urgent. They talked between themselves about whether they should come or not, then Esther walked forward, from everything it seemed that someone needed help, and she wanted to help, that was how she was.

When she opened the door, there was a woman, she seemed weak, she looked very bad like the world had destroyed everything she had and looking for hope in a hopeless situation. She said some inaudible things but from the movements I saw, she gave the child in her arms to her, the child looked to be born that day, with the cord still on its belly.

The woman was hesitant to give the child over but looked like she had no choice. After the door was closed by Esther I wanted to know what happened to the woman, I tried to open the door but my hand had gone through it as the place was only a memory.

Esther started to argue with Michael, she and he was trying to understand what this meant and it was then they realised that the child was a werewolf. They had thought to take it back to the door but advised against it, knowing wolves were a prideful bunch, they would never leave their own alone even if it spelt death for them all.

They immediately packed up and left, I wanted to go back, and see that woman, my thoughts were only of who she was and what happened to her. I thought about willing the memory back to where she was and it did.

I walked towards her and knelt, her eyes resembling mine, I could see the obvious scar on her neck which looked like a mating scar, so it meant that she had a Mate. I wanted to ask who she was and find out what happened to her but first, I must know what happened, from the beginning.

The memory continued from when the child came into the picture till the present, where I was a third party, watching how she was caught, held by the throat and thrown around like a rag doll before being held the way she was.

I was now in front of her as she muttered her words,

"I'm sorry dami, for everything. I wish I could've told you…."

Her neck was broken.

The scenery changed back.

My sorrow, misery, and heartache, began anew.

laid down on the ground as I let the tears fall from the sides of my face, with my hand covering my eyes.

"I wish I could've saved you both"

"WHYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!"

Meanwhile on a plane back to the continent Vin'nyla.

The mission was a success, but why did this one feel so off. After contacting the assassins association, and telling them the result of the mission, I dispersed the group.

While my identity is also a secret to them because they can't know who I am, the assassins association is a unique place that all races can join, but frankly, witches are rare. The witches in my team are among the only few witches we have in the association, it's said that witches went into hiding because of what happened 6000 years ago when the seven nameless arrived and I, am a descendant of one of those nameless.

Each of the nameless had gone to their separate country and made it their territory,

The species of the nameless were known but they were not given names of their own.

The seven continents largest to smallest, are Continent Crizyl owned by the species and descendants of hati; Continent Jago, owned by the species and descendants of sköll; Continent Maikoh, owned by the species and descendants of Geri, The ravenous one; Continent Baiyun, owned by the species and descendants of Freki, The greedy one; Continent Vin'nyla, my continent, owned by the species and descendants of the evil warg; Continent Nymeria, owned by the species and descendants of Asena; And last, Continent zero, owned by the species and descendants of Amarok, they don't form packs and would rather hunt alone at night and never acknowledge a mate unless to create an offspring, but only if they want to. They are stubborn but strong, even more, dangerous than the other six nameless.

Sigh.

Thinking about all of these exhausts me.

I look outside the window, the clouds were beautiful, I couldn't imagine a more beautiful scenery. The descendants of Amarok were the most peaceful out of the seven, it's said that even after it came down on the continent, all it did was a hunt, sleep and repeat. Although its hunt was humans or witches alike, when compared to the other six, this last one was a paradise in hell.

Then, the humans did something even the moon goddess hadn't expected. They worshipped them, not the seventh, but the sixth. They had bowed to the ground and worshipped the six in their different continents, they had seen the powers they had, and the curses that comes with them; as you would expect, because of their pride, they accepted such praise and worship, the moon goddess was angry at this fact and cursed them, even the seventh.

Till the last day of the seventh millennia, if we don't correct our flaws and come back into her embrace, a time like the first will come where she would purge the earth of us all. She also cursed us werewolves again to live and die after millennia, and gave a gift in the process, which I cannot understand, but it goes thus, after every millennial, only one descendant can inherit a small portion of what the originals had.

Over six thousand years, there have been six immortals from each continent ruled by wolves, while the humans have stopped worshipping us, some still do, who we use as pawns. The others have formed a kind of human government in each of the continents, and have organized a treaty for the werewolves and humans to live in peace since it wasn't the humans that started the war, they were just part of the collateral damage that took place.

While taking the treaty serious is one thing, the second is that the humans don't know that the strength of werewolves now compared to when the seven nameless came, is only but a little portion of what they had. The witches however are still in hiding, and they have a good reason too. Witches are a powerful race, but their flaw is their inability to stick together as different covens, they would rather do it alone than work together, but that's not what made them go into hiding.

S-

"Ma'am, we have arrived." A slim, soft voice had torn me apart from my thoughts.

"I see, let's leave immediately," I say to her as I stand, the images of that wolf boy and human parents yet again come into my mind as I push them away, yet again.
