Overwhelmed

Myra took a few steps back in shock. Her head banged loud as the doctor’s words sunk in.

Blood wasn’t pumping to Mum’s brain? What exactly does that mean?

“What’re you trying to say, doctor?” Kevin spoke up beside her, grabbing Myra steady.

“We still have to perform some tests on her to diagnose her real condition. Her passing out was probably due to a lot of stress. We advise that you keep calm till the real results come out.” The doctor added and made his way down the hall.

Tears were already rolling down Myra’s cheeks. She slumped to the floor with a thud “It’s all my fault, I should have looked after her better. I always work and spend days without calling her. It’s all my fault.” She sobbed hard. “I’m never going to forgive myself if she dies, Kevin.”

Kevin crouched in front of her, taking her hands gently. “It’s okay, Myra. Mum is going to be okay. I promise.”
