"That young man really gave you a hell of a beating," Mr. Cole cackles. "I do need to see what you look like now. Hahaha."

"Mr. Cole!" Richard groans, his frown deepening. "I'm in pain, and you're making fun of me?"

"Hmph! Don't be such a baby!" Mr. Cole scoffs. "The deed is done, and you have to live with it. But you're such a fool," he scolds. "You decided to assault a girl like the daughter of the Cadens and you took with you a few weaklings. "Didn't you know there were going to be casualties? Or did you think she had no connections and no one would come for her?"

"The motel is very discreet, Mr. Cole. Unless you're taken there, you wouldn't even know such a place exists in East Veridora. It's where I've carried out many of my operations, and nothing had ever gone awry. I grew complacent, believing that nothing could go wrong, which is why I was so relaxed. How could I have imagined that this young man would track me down within thirty minutes?"

"You spent thirty minutes with her a
