Edith was initially angry that Layla dared be rude to her and was about to lash out at her but on hearing Layla's question, all her anger directed at her quickly fades away and is redirected at Jordan, who has been silently observing. As her gaze drops to him, her expression darkens drastically, her fists clenching and unclenching. If not for Jordan, things wouldn't have gotten to this.

She wouldn't have fallen out with her niece, to the point of her being rude to her and she wouldn't have a reason to jeer at her.
