THE DEVIL HERSELF
"Jordan, Miss Nicholson," as Daisy gets to them, she repeats.

Natasha stiffens, anger and fear flashing in her eyes. This is the lady who caused her so much pain and suffering. Hasn't she done enough? What is she doing here?

She unconsciously takes two steps backward before asking as politely as she can muster and without any atom of anger in her voice, "Miss Kane, you rushed over to us in such a hurry. Is there a problem?"

Daisy glances at Jordan, who stands silently beside Natasha without even sparing her a glance and nibbles on her lower lip, sadness clouding her expression.

However, she quickly composes herself and offers a sad smile as she says, "Miss Nicholson, I was inhumane to you, and I've come to apologize."

"What?" Natasha's eyes dilate. This is Daisy Kane, the Princess of the Kane family, a lady whose shoelace she is not worthy to tie.

What could possibly make her stoop to this level to apologize to her, a mere country bumpkin? Could it be?
