It has been a week since he’d been on his last date with Rose and he was currently at the Logistics Headquarters of Castle and Castle, sitting in his office quietly and typing off on his system. He was making a constructive critique on the files Adeline sent him.

He has been completely focused on work for the past few days. He’d barely even seen anyone since then and he hasn't even given himself the time to think about Rose or anyone else. He knew he had to focus on growth every single time he might want to feel a disturbance in himself. Mr Anthony, seeing his attitude, decided to shelf some work for him. He was supposed to write out a FAQ on the new machines and how the skeletal framework should be.

Naturally, Adrian handed it to Adeline and when she sent it back to him, he decided to critique it and send it back so she can do final corrections. He was currently at the moment, the highest power in the building as Mr Anthony had traveled to get some deals done. Normally he should hav

Kevin’s expression shifted and Adrian could see the little hint of fear in his eyes, however it quickly disappeared. He looked at Adrian with a smile. “You do remember I told you that I know where your mother lived,” he explained. “If I do not leave this establishment alive I’d hate for something to happen to her,” he answered softly. The man probably didn't know much about Adrian if he thought he was really going to feel threatened by such a flimsy threat. He glanced at Kevin and clicked the gun once again, before pulling the trigger. Kevin shifted immediately in reaction but instead of a loud bang, the gun only made a clicking sound. Adrian chuckled. “I guess you are lucky this time around,” he explained. “There is only one bullet in this gun, and I have tampered with the mechanics a bit, so with each click, the bullet hostler spins. So the next shot might be the bullet or not. It depends on your luck, so I will ask the question again, why would I betray Mr Anthony for you? What is

Adrian drove back home from work the very evening and went along to his garden immediately, he had started to tend it again and he’s been spending most of his time there and have been using it to gleam gossips of what was going on in the Brooks family, it wasn't necessarily easy to see them face to face everyday and not feel a burning anger within himself it was like a brimstone placed under fire. He put on his gloves and his working clothes and jumped into the garden. He’d just planted a row of fresh tomatoes in one direction and the other direction was filled with pots containing different ornamental flowers, all of which served different purposes. He began to slowly wet the soil, he made it a habit to sprinkle water early morning and late in the evenings. He did the work rather tedious and slowly allowed himself to be immersed in the work. He was so immersed that he didn't see someone in front of him. He glanced up to see Linda in front of him and he smiled. “Good evening,” he g

Adrian nodded and glanced at the lady for a while, a certain thought setting on his mind. “When are you heading back home today?” He asked. “I was planning on leaving once we get back to the house,” she explained. “Why do you ask?”“Is Paschal in the house now?” Adrian asked with scrutiny. “Why do you ask?” She said, “I don't want any trouble with this,” she sighed. “Gods I sound like an idiot, but I am afraid of getting on the wrong side of the Lady, I don't want to go back to where I was coming from. I… I don't want to fail,” she put her hand through her hair. “Just answer the question,” Adrian said, ignoring the rest of her rant. He didn't want her to dissuade him from what he was planning, he understood her plight and was well aware of her fears, he was in her shoes not quite a while ago so he understands how hard it is to go against someone with power. “Yes. He is in the house now,” She replied. “Well who else is in that house,” Adrian asked again.“Raymond, he just came to

Linda walked out of the house, her heart racing, she felt like she’d made a mistake and there was no turning back now, hwr dignity was on the line. She sighed as she walked hastily towards Adrian, who was patiently waiting for her at the yard just beaming with a smile. She couldn't really tell what was making him that happy.“So I resigned and told Raymond about Paschal, what now?” She asked Adrian and the latter gestured for her to follow him. Adrian led her to her car and told her to get in which she did, frowning and scrutinizing Adrian as she did. “You can go home now, come and meet me tomorrow morning, so we can talk,” he said with a smile and then waved at her. “I don't necessarily understand this yet, but thank you,” she nodded at him and gave him a warm smile as she ignited her car and drove away. Linda had always been a little sad with her work life and didn't necessarily like the Brooks, but that was her only job and she couldn't just quit without having another opportuni

Adrian stretched his hand to help her up and she took his hand, her heart still racing from the event that’d just transpired. She was breathing heavily and for a second, she couldn't really speak, her head was light, her entire body aching and her thighs stung so bad. Her head was covered in a hazy cloud and she couldn't see anyone around her as her head throbbed from the pain. “Hey,” Adrian said, but she only heard the sound like a distant voice. She was so locked in, her head filled with horrific imaginations. Paschal wasn't a man when he entered her house, he was a demon and she could feel that unnerving intent that just wanted to subdue her. It wasn't lust per say, just a need to dominate. It was like a beast trying to mark its territory to prove its power and strength. She felt a hand on her shoulder and she whimpered backwards, glancing up only to realize it was Adrian who was looking at her with a bit of concern. “Are you okay ma’am?” He asked, looking into her eyes. She loo

The next day, Linda got up from her bed a little jittery, she had a terrible dream of someone chasing her and she’d barely escaped. As it would seem her encounter with Paschal gave her a bit of trauma but she shook it off soon. She said a little prayer and checked her phone only to find Adrian’s message. “I am awake already, meet me at the Brooks' in an hour,” Linda smiled and checked the time of the message, it was thirty minutes ago. She literally vanished into her bathroom immediately and soon enough began to dress up. She had been given an opportunity and she’s almost going to toss it away by being late? Soon she was done dressing up and before the next five minutes she applied light makeup and dashed out of the house. In the next second, she was igniting her car and driving off towards Brooks. Yesterday, after they’d treated her, Adrian and Raymond left her to sleep and the former reminded her that they were supposed to meet for her new job. She’d been perpetually perturbed ab

A packet of biscuits dropped on the floor as the collision happened and Linda bent down to help the girl pick it up, putting it back into the tray. Adrian got up on the chair and glanced at the others. “Excuse me,” he said, chasing after Linda. “Wait,” he called out after her but the woman was rushing outside as fast as she could. Adrian didn't understand what was going on in her mind as he felt he was doing a good thing, something she would be happy to accept, he hadn't expected her to get mad over the matter in fact. He rushed after her, catching the door before she swung it close. “Linda!” He yelled! The woman paused and turned around. “What?” she said, clearly angry about something. “You don't want to accept this?” He glanced at her. “Why?” He was confused. He had no idea why someone wouldn't want to accept a business enterprise like this and prefer to work as a personal assistant to someone who treats them like nothing. “It is too much,” she said. “Why are you giving me this?

Adrian was completely dressed up by six o’clock in the morning. He was wearing a tuxedo with matching shoes. He’d gone to have a haircut the other day and he was looking rather neat. He checked his phone once more, his heart racing as he expected Mister Anthony's call. It's been a long time since he’s been expecting this day to come, in fact he’s been dreading its arrival for a while now and it is finally here. He’d been going about studies when Mr Anthony called him that he was supposed to meet his betrothed today. He really had no idea what kind of person she is nor did the lawyer provide him any clue or encouragement. He was walking like a blind man into the home of one of the richest people in the city to take their daughter. He had no idea the etiquette of such a setting, he didn't even know if it was polite to bring a gift or anything. He was just at the moment very perplexed and that increased his anxiety. He couldn't sleep all night, he just kept on thinking multiple times

"I know you have a lot of questions. I owe you some answers."Adrian’s gaze remained fixed on the windshield, his jaw clenched. "You think?" he muttered, his tone sharp. "Why didn’t you tell me you were my father? Why let my mother suffer all these years? Why leave us in the dark?"Mr. Brooks sighed, rubbing his temples as if trying to ease the guilt that had been gnawing at him for years. "I wanted to protect you, Adrian.
