Blinks drove as fast as he could and it could be said at the moment that the car was flying. They were an hour out from where his mom lived as it was another city entirely. Neither of them spoke as they drove towards one of the secluded areas of the road.

Due to it being a shortcut, Blinks drifted into it and they were on. However as they were moving a car suddenly jumped onto the road smashing their car as it got wrecked. The air bag popped protecting the two as the collision happened.

“They are going to try and kill us,” Blinks advised and told Adrian to get off from the other side of the vehicle. The latter nodded and landed rolled out despite feeling a throbbing headache. Blinks also crawled out and just as he was out, multiple gunshots were opened on the car and bullets began to ricochet off metals.

Adrian crawled forward, him and Blinks hadn't planned for this and they hadn't brought any weapon. “Well well,” one of the shooters who have come around the car smiled, looking at t

Adrian was pacing back and forth while Raymond was seated with his hands folded. Ever since Adrian got the information that Rose, his wife, had been abducted he hadn't been alright. Not being alright was an understatement because right now he was feeling crazy. It was as if something in him had been triggered and that was very much okay. This was the reaction someone who truly loved his wife was supposed to have. What other way would someone feel if his wife had been abducted to an unknown place?Currently he was seated at Blinks' place and he had made it very clear that he was going to find out the location where Rose was being held. It wasn't as if that eased Adrian's feeling of restlessness but he was reassured. At least he was going to know where Rose was being kept and rush there to save her once it got to that."Pacing like that makes me very disturbed," Raymond finally said to Adrian after watching him pace for a very long period of time. "You should ease it already. Doing that

"Come on!" Ramsey yelled as he waved his right hand and pointed towards a nearby car. "Let's go there!"The others immediately followed as more gunshots rang out and bullets wheeze through the air. Pattering sounds could be heard as the bullets crashed into the spot where they had been earlier. Several bullets even wheeze past Adrian's face. It was Blinks who pulled him on time if not he would have been already shot in the face."What's going on today?!" Adrian couldn't help but asked as he panted. He wanted to look at the people who were shooting but gunshots were coming from that direction. If he tried anything funny by looking there, his face would be decorated by bullets. It wouldn't be the best decoration anybody in his right senses would want.Rose was in the worst condition as she grabbed Adrian very tightly and buried her face into her chest as she shivered in fear. Nobody wanted to be caught in a gunfire as it was terrifying. Even soldiers at times found it terrifying."I'm g

It was simple to discover who’d caused all this commotion as they were working with three people who understood pattern recognition and that was Blinks, Penelope and Ramey. All of them had experience in dealing with criminals and catching them.Penelope had managed to take pictures of the shooters and Blinks had done the same thing back at their house. They’d sat down together to make an alignment. Well, as it would seem three of the shooters held tattoos that actually matched each other. They’d then shown the other people the tattoo and Adrian recognized it, he’d seen it on Kevin before and that was the simple way they linked them together. Adrian walked away from their midst signaling to Rose as the girl frollowed him to a secluded part of the house. “Hey you okay,” he asked as soon as they were alone. “Yep,” she nodded. “This isn't my first rodeo, trust me,” she said with a smile. “You are used to being almost blown up?” He asked. “Yes!” She chuckled. “I was kidnapped as a kid

Adrian smiled at the defying words of Kevin and didn't try to dissuade him from such silly notions. He glanced at Blinks who smiled at him. “You see Kevin, we are going to get what we want even if you are not willing to give it to us or not,” he said with a chuckle, smiling weirdly at the man. He sat up and went into the man’s inner room. Adrian was in a state where he wasn't necessarily processing things well, a lot of stuff was radiating on his mind, so he left the entire information retrieval to Blinks. He has been trying to still calm himself down from the after effect of that building exploding and him thinking Rose was in it. He discovered soon enough that he would rather be at death's door than for Rose to be in danger. He couldn't bear the pain of losing her and he knew this world he was living in would always be put to harm him and everything he loved. Before it was just friends that surrounded him and while he held a sheer determination to protect them, he’s never develop

The bullet sunk into the man’s shoulder and Kevin groaned in pain. Adrian smiled, placing his foot on that wound and this time their host yelled in pain. His entire body was trembling from the pain and although Adrian didn't necessarily enjoy it, he didn't mind hearing him scream. It was a little payback for almost killing his fiance and he glanced at him now, with cold dead eyes. “You will answer my question now and it is a very simple one,” he said with a smile and then opened the gun just to view its inner barrel, then closed it back. He pressed the gun to Kevin's head and then pulled the trigger. The gun clicked and then Adrian clicked his tongue. “You are such a lucky person,” he said with a smile. There is only one last bullet in this gun and I have rearranged the barrel. I myself don't know when the bullet will shoot so for every question you don't answer, I am going to try to put an end to your pathetic life,” he said. “I don't know when your luck will run out, I hope it isn

When the car jolted to a stop, Adrian woke up immediately, he glanced at Rose who was at the driver's seat and she smirked at him. “Are you so sleepy that you cannot give basic instructions?” She demanded, shaking her head.Adrian sighed. Throughout the journey, Rose had tried getting him to give her directions to the hospital his mom was supposed to be in but the latter made them miss their turn twice before he finally had her search up the name of the place on the online map. Ge drifted into a long sleep after that, as they were already about forty minutes out. They were there now and she was giving him an attitude. That was one of the things he liked most about her; she knew how to control her emotions and always wanted him to be happy. He looked at her and didn't reply but gave her a terse smile before pushing the door open, she rolled her eyes and got out of the car, glancing at the hospital building before turning to him. His mom sighed and then sat on the bed, still holding hands with Rose, Adrian rolled his eyes in jealousy. The biggest thing he wanted in his day to day life was his wife and mother to be best of friends and take turns bullying him. He shook his head and then turned to her as she began to speak. This was the first time Adrian actually took a good look at her for a while. Past the injuries and all, she seemed a bit younger, fairer even. Even though she seemed to have been hurt, she seemed happier than she had been in a while. Her brown eyes shone brighter than normal. She looked at him with a lit up face. “Stop scanning me, I am okay,” she said. “What happened wasn't much of anything sincerely, I think the doctor overreacted, Ian overreacted a lot!” “Ian?” Adrian asked with a smile. The way she spoke the name created a sense of familiarity that he didn't expect. Was his mother seeing someone now? That would actually be great if she was. Well is that why she seemed happier and liveli

They arrived at his mother's house late into the night, the entire events of the day had taken much of their energy. The quiet of the evening was broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind and the distant call of a night bird. His mother’s house was a small and cozy one and Adrian made a passing joke about it as they entered. His mother, although a little excited to be with her son and wanting to speak to him as long as possible, didn't press them much, she could sense their weariness. They exchanged only a few words, the bare minimum needed to catch up on pleasantries, before the weight of their exhaustion overcame them all.Adrian and Rose, barely able to keep their eyes open, gratefully accepted the offer of the spare room. It was the only one in the house, but it was comfortable, although she had to remove multiple children's diagrams from there. Apparently, she invited multiple children to her house on Sundays for a drawing session. The room was modest, with a si

He quickly ended the call and slipped his phone into his pocket. "We’ve got a serious problem, Adrian," he said, his voice low and tense. "Lazzaro’s gone desperate. "I know you have a lot of questions. I owe you some answers."Adrian’s gaze remained fixed on the windshield, his jaw clenched. "You think?" he muttered, his tone sharp.
