Back in the city where Fina lives. Denver and I go straight toward the flower shop and find out that Fina is not there anymore. I tried knocking on the door of the flower shop but no one answered. I went toward the back and went out at the window. I saw no one inside.
Seems like no one is home.
A grim expression was seen on my face when I realized something so terrifying.
Could it be…
While I have my face pressed on the window glass. Someone put his hand on my shoulder. This resulted in me being startled.
“Are you looking for the family living there?”
As I turned around, I saw the same old woman who had given me the hot chocolate when I first got there.
“Yeah, madam. I’m looking for Fina and her family.”
“Well, they go to their hospital because their daughter is not waking up anymore. Looks like the illness of their daughter has become worse. She is so young yet suffering so much. The world sure is cruel, isn’t it?”
I agree, the world sure is cruel.
“May I ask where this hospital is?”
“It is over there near the park. The huge building in white.”
“Thank you very much.”
The old woman leaves.
Hearing our conversation. The man standing behind me had all hope lost on his face. Despair is all I can sense.
It is understandable and I can feel sympathy for what he felt after hearing things about Fina’s condition. Fina’s condition worsened and she might not be able to wake up anymore.
There is a possibility that Fina may not be able to see Denver anymore.
“Do you love her or not?”
I asked Denver.
“What is it all of the sudden?”
I curled my fist and was about to knock his face with lighting punch. Terrified, he stepped back and tripped. He fell with his butt on the ground.
“It hurts.”
“You’re so pathetic… Why does Fina have to fall in love with a man like you?”
“You’re about to punch me with a fist covered in magic. Dodging is the normal thing to do. If you ask me if I love Fina, of course, the answer is ‘Yes!’. That was obvious. I started researching about the eternal flower in the laboratory. If the eternal flower didn’t exist. Then, I'd create it, I thought. All of my work is for Fina. So that she would accept my feelings for her.”
“Then don’t lose hope… She is not dead yet. She can still wake up. Just believe in her. Fina might be pessimistic about her future, but she didn’t give up. She continues living a normal life.”
Saying things and knocking him into the sense is the thing I can do for their love story.
Denver got up and, with a serious face, he turned his gaze on me.
“You’re correct, I should not lose hope. I should believe in her. I should believe that he could make it. What am I doing? Here, let's go and see her.”
Denver said and then kicked him to the ground. DaReng as fast as he could toward the girl he loved.
His dead eyes earlier were full of spirit. My words did something to him.
We both arrived at the hospital and asked the nurses about the girl named Fina. Denver and I went immediately to the said room to see her.
Denver, without knocking, opened the door in a hurry. Panting and sweat dripping from his forehead to his cheeks.
“Hump… Hump… I made it…”
Lifting his glance. He saw Fina sitting looking at him with surprise.
Fina was already woken up and gazing in the window like she used to do.
“Denver,” Fina said with a low tone voice.
“Fina…”
They both gazed at each other's eyes for a moment and then averted their eyes. Both with bright red faces and embarrassed.
They are both in love, no doubt about it.
“You come to see me…”
Denver before responding to Fina, took out something from his sling bag. Offering it to Fina.
“I’m sorry… I managed to find the eternal flower, but I managed to create something similar to it. This flower won’t wilt for a very long time if its water is changed every day. It can also survive different weather conditions and temperatures. According to our research, this flower can last for about 50 years.”
Fina took it and sniffed. The sweet aroma the flower released made Fina create a smile on her face.
“Sweet… But I don’t deserve this flower. This kind of beautiful flower should not be wasted.”
“Its not true at all.”
“No, I don’t deserve anything. I can’t take this flower because I don’t know if I can take care of it. I don’t know if I can change its water every day. The doctor said that I could die anytime. It could be tomorrow, today, or right now. I’m scared… I don’t want to create such a bond. That’s why I I find out that I’m in love with you. I distance myself and order you to find a non-existent flower. So that you’ll be able to forget me. Far, far away, you will find a girl that is great and beautiful. A girl that suits an intelligent man like you.”
“Fina is the only one I like… I love you.”
Fina was stunned after hearing Denver’s words.
“I love you Fina.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“That’s what my heart wants to tell… I love you Fina… I want to spend my life with you. Cause I love you so much.
Tears dripped from Fina’s eyes. She wipes it out immediately but it keeps on flowing. Tears won’t stop.
I’m happy that it was not a tear of sadness. The tears flowing in Fina’s eyes are tears of joy.
Fina, who supposed to be bed ridden, was able to stand up. Walking toward Denver. She pushed herself to Denver and hugged by Denver tightly.
“To everything you told me… That is the easiest to understand. I love you too.”
The couple hug each other tightly.
I don’t want to disturb you any further and go out of the room. Judging by their shadows. I could see that they had their lips pressed together.
Love sure is wonderful.
Afterward, Fina’s health returned back to normal. Her illness still doesn’t have a cure, but she is fighting strongly. Fighting together with the one she loves the most.
The flower blooms, watching the two couples continue their love story.
…
Only when a flower withers is there meaning to its bloom.
Just like this long adventure. It's not about the end. It's about the journey. Applying it to life. I’ve learnt something important.
A life only holds its meaning when you live it to the fullest.
Hold the people you love and spend the day like it was the end.
I’ll remember this wonderful lesson in my ever-changing life.
This is bad… I can tell that this is bad. Looking inside a full-body mirror. I looked at my naked body. I was frustrated at what I was seeing. I’m currently in the hot spring house in Crimonia city. A city near a volcano. A dead volcano to be exact. It is said that the volcano never made any eruptions for thousands of years. Being around a volcano. Geysers and hot springs are commonly found in this place. Well, these hot springs are the main selling characteristic of this city. The city of hot spring, Crimonia city. I pinched my belly and noticed the excess fat on my waist had gotten bigger. What is this?! What is this?! This is bad. I don’t have to be just a pretty face. I want to have a great slender body too. As a normal girl, of course, I despise this kind of flaw. Remembering those past days. I’ve been eating greasy food. I did accumulate lots of money in my previous monster hunting quest. I indulge myself by buying lots of fried chicken. Last week there was a root beer f
I have been walking around for hours and am still unable to find my way to the next town. According to the map I’m using, the next town is supposed to be located nearby. Is this map old? Because I do not see any towns around me at all. I thought and took another look and then I realized something undeniable. The map is supposed to be read horizontally, but I’m reading it vertically. I’ve been moving on a different path all this time. The sun is scourging hot and I’m not able to go back to the last city I left. The hours of walking went wasted. Surrounding me is just a sandy place with nothing. My water bottle is already empty. The heat has already exhausted my body. No food left. To be precise, I didn’t bring anything with me, thinking that the next town was just around the corner. As a traveler, I would like to travel with only a few belongings. Right now, I’m regretting my decision. “I should’ve brought some food with me.” I said with a defeated tone. I have got a long way to
“After the long journey of the hero. The hero goes into the pub and has his stomach filled with a lot of delicious food.” I said before I took a bite of the fried chicken legs in my hand. After biting and having a satisfying crunch. I took the cold root beer beside my plate and chugged it. Slamming the cup of root beer on the table. “Ahh~” I release a well-accomplished expression on my face. “So good!” “We’re very glad that Miss Konoha loves our dishes.” “It is so good… I don’t have a single complaint. The chicken is juicy and the skin is crunchy. The gravy is superb. The most important thing. Everything is free. Making everything more delightful.” “You’re quite right about that.” The orc woman said who was eating beside me. On the opposite side of the table was the little girl Shaymi. Just like me, she had a very satisfied expression on her face. She was smiling and giggling as she ate. “What’s the matter, Shaymi, you look so happy?” Asked the archer elf. “Tomorrow is a ver
Today is a very special day. A very special day for a girl called Shaymi. Ever since she started to walk and talk. Monsters are the ones responsible for taking care of her. She never knew her parents. Their faces or their smell. But Shaymi weirdly never searches for them. The main reason was… Shaymi is already happy. They love the monster gives to her is enough… No, it is overflowing. They all took care of Shaymi and almost spoiled her. Despite that kind of bringing up. Shaymi never looked down on anyone. She remained down to earth and everything. She still helps everyone living in the place where she grew up. Eating together and laughing together. Since today is her birthday. She already knew what it was. It's another cheerful day full of smiles. She woke up in her bed. Opening her eyes, she stretched her arms upward and rolled her body on the soft blanket. Still wanting to sleep. The little girl then realized the day today. Her eyes opened widely and she leaped away from her be
A huge number of monsters kick the ground toward Konoha, attempting to attempt an attack. The monsters immediately encircle Konoha and their swords slash them. Before the attack landed on her skin. Konoha manages to leap upward to the sky to avoid the circle of attack. While she’s on air. The archer elf fired rapid arrows. “Lightning speed!” Konoha activated her signature magic, the Lightning speed. Lightning speed is a unique type of magic and only Konoha was allowed to use it. Upon activation, Konoha’s body is covered with lightning-type mana. Her body transformed into matter that can withstand great speed. Speed of lighting was added afterward to increase her agility at an inhumane level. Her speed is not only limited to the speed of lightning. Since her body won’t break down after being exposed to high velocity. There was a possibility for Konoha moving at light speed or greater than light speed. The downside of this magic was its pure dependence on mana in Konoha’s body. When h
“Don’t tell me these things are mixed into the dish…” Hanayuki was sitting across from Shaymi, glaring hatefully at her special lunch, which was the same as Shaymi's. For no reason other than the price, we both chose the most inexpensive option, but apparently, she had found something disagreeable about it, “You don’t like mushrooms?” Shaymi asked, peering at her plate. She had carefully removed the mushrooms from her pasta. Hanayuki glared daggers at the limp pieces of fungus separated from the rest of her meal. “I hate them! I mean, they grow off of trees! This means that these things are the trees right > I don’t make a habit of eating trees, plus they have a smiley texture, and worst of all, they have this strange shape! It is vile. I should be the one asking about how you can manage to stomach them. It makes no sense!” She claimed, puffing out her cheeks. Shayi saw now that Hanayuki had built up an irrational hatred toward mushrooms. “I didn’t know HAnayuki was childish… M
“Please…don’t leave me here all alone, Snow…” Two tears trickled down Nimym's cheeks, dripped, and landed on the large feather lying on the ground. The drops sprinkled. That pale blue feather was the only remaining memento of her family and friends. Snow, the only friend and partner she’d known for many months. Just a few minutes ago, Snow had died, bravely protecting her master. The monster’s weapon had delivered the final blow, and Snow had given a single, lonely cry, then shattered like ice. Just one long feather remained, the feather she so cheerily flapped whenever called. … Nimym was a spirit arts user. A class not often seen in this world. Spirit art users specialize in manipulating spirits and spirit energy. They make bonds with the spirit and be friends with them. It sounds easy, but being one is very hard. To be a spirit art user, some requirements need to be met. The spirit user must have no mLenny in his/her heart. This first condition alone was almost impossible to so
“I’m sorry.” The light brown-haired girl said again. Ninym desperately blinked back tears and shook her head. “…No…It’s my fault…I was stupid. Thank you…for saving me…” She had to squeeze out the words between stifled sobs. The girl slowly approached, knelt before Ninym, and spoke hesitantly. “That small feather dragon… Is not a monster, right?” Ninym nodded and replied: “My friend was a spirit.” “It's not too late… there is still a way to save your friend.” She wiped her tears away and got confused about what Konoha had just said. Living things that have died won’t be coming back. It is true, but that law is not applied to everything in this world. For example, was spirit life. Spirits are creatures that will have the ability to live in a thousand years. They could still die, just like what happened to Snow. But there is a way to revive your spirits. And that path is something Konoha wanted to present to Ninym. “There is a possibility that we can revive her using the spiri
