His throat tightened, a lump forming as he thought of Lola’s sacrifices—how she would work her fingers to the bone, shielding him from a truth too heavy for a child.

So this was it? This was why she never talked about his parents. Why she never allowed him to go to a public school until he was 10. Why she kept changing his name.

Serena leaned forward slightly, her blue eyes softening with a flicker of empathy. “Your parents searched for years, but Lola was clever. She kept you off their radar, raising you as her own. The Wang family’s wealth grew, but their anger did too—they saw her as a thief, stealing their heir.”

“When your parents died in a mysterious crash ten years ago, the family blamed Lola, claiming she’d cursed them by defying Xue Wang.”

Gary’s chest ached, a sharp pang of grief for parents he’d never known. He’d always thought they abandoned him, but now, hearing that they were even willing to sacrifice him, their own son? And Lola, blamed for it all?

His hands clenched into fists, his knuckles whitening. “Why didn’t she tell me?” he whispered, his voice raw with a mix of anger and sorrow. “All those years… she let me think I was nothing; she suffered while she had wealth piled up somewhere!”

“She wanted to protect you,” Serena said gently, her tone like a soft hand on his shoulder. “The Wang family never stopped looking. They hired people—dangerous people—to track you down. And even now, they still are.”

Gary’s jaw tightened, his heart pounding as the pieces fell into place. “You keep calling me Master,” he said, his voice low, almost a growl. “What does that mean? What am I to these people?”

Serena straightened, her expression shifting to one of quiet pride. “You’re the last true heir of the Wang bloodline, Mr. Wang. The first son who survived the ritual’s curse. Your father left everything to you in his will when he realized that he would never find you—a fortune so vast it makes the Lancasters and every other human look like they’re begging for scraps.”

“But more than that, you’re the one meant to lead the Wang family, to carry its legacy because your father never had any other child. That’s why we saved you. That’s why I’m here. We have been looking for you for many years. Many mistresses like me have come and gone, but to no avail.”

Gary stared at her, his mind racing. A fortune? A legacy? Him—the man who’d scrubbed floors, taken slaps, and caught his wife with another man—was supposed to lead a dynasty?

He wanted to laugh, to call it a sick joke, but the weight in Serena’s eyes told him this was real. His fingers brushed the sheets again, the silk a reminder of the world he’d been thrown into.

“What about Lola, my grandmother?” he asked, his voice breaking with worry. “Is she really safe? I need to see her right now.”

Serena nodded, a small smile touching her lips. “She’s here, in this hospital. Her surgery was successful—Doctor Montague oversaw it himself. She’s resting now, but you can see her soon. I promise.”

Relief washed over Gary, warm and heavy, loosening the knot in his chest. Lola was alive. She’d made it. But the fire inside him didn’t die—it grew, fueled by the thought of Kage, Evelyn, and the Lancasters who’d crushed him for years.

Gary leaned back against the pillows, his heart still racing but steadier now. He was alive, Lola was safe, and for the first time, he felt a spark of power—a promise of revenge that burned brighter than his pain. The worthless son-in-law was gone. Master Wang was waking up.

Gary lay back down, staring at the chandelier above him. Was this real? His life had changed in the blink of an eye. He found it hard to believe that all of this was happening. Does this mean he was now rich? Wealthy? And he could finally have his revenge on all of his enemies?

“I will leave you now, Master Wang. The Doctor said you should be fine in a few days as long as you get some rest. In the meantime, sir, there are some documents you have to sign to claim total ownership of all of your empire, including this hospital!” Serena said gently, pulling out her tablet and a smart pen.

“What do you mean ‘this hospital’?” Gary asked, drawing his signature on the screen, slowly but firmly.

“Yes, Master Wang. Asclepius Wing belongs to you, and Doctor Montague works for you as the manager.

Gary handed back the tablet to Serena, still finding it hard to believe his eyes and ears. “Tell me, Serena, just how wealthy was my father?” he asked.

“No, Master Wang. The question isn’t ‘how wealthy your father was’, but ‘how wealthy you are.’” She stood up and carved a smile on her face.

“And you are about to find out.” she ended with a smirk.

“Show me all.” Gary responded. “All of it!”

No one will touch you ever again.” Gary nodded, his legs shaky as he stepped inside. The leather seats were soft against his back, the air cool and scented with a faint hint of cedar. He sank into the comfort, his mind racing with memories of the beat-up car he’d driven for the Lancasters, its seats torn and smelling of rust. Now this? He rubbed his hands together, feeling the smoothness of the armrest, a small smile tugging at his lips despite the ache in his body. Finally, after a while, the Limousine slowed, and Gary’s breath caught as they approached his new home. The mansion loomed ahead, a grand structure of white marble and towering columns, its windows glinting like jewels against the green hills of New York’s outskirts. It was massive—bigger than anything he’d ever seen, even in his wilde

Enrique woke up earlier than usual. He had slept on the wrong side of the bed, thinking about what Gary had done to him the night before. As he tucked his shirt into his pants, he let out a soft groan of disgust. It was like Gary was standing right there and he could disfigure his face with a blow. But a smile appeared on his face. He relinquished in the thought of what he would do to Gary; how he would watch Gary shave his head and eat the clippings. The sight of seeing ‘Bald Gary Wang’ made him squirm in excitement. He grabbed his bag and dashed out of his room. He rushed to the sitting room where everyone was having breakfast. “Ooh, it looks like someone is about to get us that deal from the Sun Group.” Madam Ann said, chewing her Burrito gently. “Of course Mom,” Enrique leaned in and kissed her on the forehead. And then, his attention was stolen by the man he despised so much, Gary Wang. Gary sat at his usual spot, a corner of the dining room where he had his meals. He

Around him, the laughter swelled. The Lancaster family, their guests, their servants—they all watched, waiting for the show to begin. William Lancaster sighed, swirling the whiskey in his glass. "I said, kneel, you douche-bag!" A sharp kick suddenly slammed into the back of Gary’s knee. His leg buckled, and before he could catch himself, he was on the floor, a silent grunt escaping his dry lips. Laughter erupted. Someone clapped. A joke was made at his expense, but Gary didn’t hear it. All he heard was his own breathing. Heavy. Slow. He looked up. Across the room, Evelyn stood there, watching. His wife, his wife, who never defended him. His wife, who didn’t look away, was she enjoying the scene? Gary swallowed hard. He couldn’t tell. Gary sat frozen, too stunned to respond. His eyes locked onto the woman before him, drinking in every detail. She was a blonde, her hair cascading like golden silk, catching the chandelier’s light in a way that made her glow. But it wasn’t just her hair—her face was striking, with high cheekbones and eyes that sparkled like deep blue oceans, holding a sharpness that hinted at secrets. She wore a tailored suit, black and fitted, that spoke of authority, yet the way she moved suggested grace and danger all at once. In a more plain description, the lady was extremely beautiful! “Master Wang?” she repeated gently, her tone pulling him from his daze. She stood tall, her posture perfect, hands clasped in front of her as if ready to serve or strike. “I’m Serena Voss, your personal assistant.” Gary’s mouth opened, then closed, words lost in the storm of his mind. Personal assistant? Him? The man who’d scrubbed floors for the Lancasters, who’d been beaten to death’s door, now had someone
