Chapter 5:Cho Byeol

Time passed, it had already been a week since they arrived at the cave. Yang Zhai was sitting at his bed, meditating. As for Cho Byeol and Bae Ah, they were sitting at the corner of the cave. They were silent right now. They had discovered in the past week that Yang Zhai didn't like to talk much. And because of this, they hadn't talked to each other in the past week. 

The situation was quite weird now because even though Yang Zhai forced them to stay, he hadn't done anything to them, instead, he even provided them with food. Because of this Cho Byeol tried many times to speak with Yang Zhai but every time he ignored her. This wasn't because he wanted to avoid being disturbed, but because of his personality. He was a cautious person and tried his best to stay away from people as much as possible. Even though they were just Rank 3, they were still cultivators and cultivators had many methods. He was very cautious of them. And also because he knew that if he befriended them, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from helping them if they were in trouble.

It was unknown what time it was right now outside the cave, but inside was lit with three lamps, one at the table and two were hanging on the two sides of the entrance. But there was still some darkness at the corners of the cave.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" As always, Cho Byeol went to Yang Zhai and asked.

"What is it?" Yang Zhai asked.

"What is the name of the flowers outside, and what is their use?" Cho Byeol asked.

"Why do want to know, it's not like you need them," Yang Zhai said

"Those flowers are very beautiful, I really want to know their names. And anyway, don't you think that we at least have the right to know about the flowers for which we're being kept here" Cho Byeol asked indignantly.

Yang Zhai thought about it, they indeed had the right to know about them. After all, he had forced them to stay here, even though they hadn't done anything. And also because this girl was really stubborn, she kept bothering him, again and again, this past week. Even though he had told her to not disturb him, she still insisted. And because of his personality, he didn't do anything to her.

"Sigh, they're known as Black flower leaves. When they are fully matured, they combine and turn into black flowers and their petals turn into a leaf shape. They have many uses, but they're mainly used to refine a Ka" Yang Zhai heaved a sigh and said to Cho Byeol. When he said that, he couldn't help but smile.

He had put too much effort into growing them and finding a place that was safe and isolated from the people. Even though this place had some beasts, they were just low-level, which were easy for him to handle.

"Why have I never heard of them before? Cho Byeol asked. 

"Because they are rare, and also you can't know about everything," Yang Zhai said casually.

"You are right, nobody can know everything and they are rare too," Cho Byeol said.

"Can you tell me where you found them and which environment is better suited for them?" Choi Byeol asked another question.

"They can be found in…." Yang Zhai started to tell her. 

And just like this, Cho Byeol started asking more questions about the origins and uses of black flower leaves. She kept asking him one question after another. At the side, Bae Ah was listening silently. She didn't have any other choice but to listen. After all, there was nothing else she could do but listen to their conversation.

Their conversation lasted for hours, and Cho Byeol had already forgotten about her current situation.

"Thank you, because of you, I learned many new things,"  Cho Byeol said. She was really happy. And after this conversation, she could tell that Yang Zhai was a good person. She hadn't expected that Yang Zhai, who kept himself silent all the time, was such a good person.

After this event, Yang Zhai started to talk to them more often, he didn't ignore Cho Byeol anymore. He understood one thing, and that was that this girl was too innocent and carefree. She didn't even care about the situation she was in, she just kept asking him more and more questions. Even though Cho Byeol kept bothering him again and again, he didn't mind it. After all, it was rare to find such a person, who was pure from worldly affairs. But he still didn't let go of his cautiousness.

Just like that, another two weeks went by, it was time for him to go out and check on his flowers and also collect some food.

"Do you want to come or stay here?" Yang Zhai asked.

"No, you should go, I'm tired," Bae Ah said. She was already used to living in the cave, so didn't mind.

"Wait, I'm coming, I want to go out for a while," Cho Byeol said. She was already itching to go out, so how could she miss such a chance.

"She is coming alone with me, don't you mind that?" when Yang Zhai saw that Bae Ah wasn't saying anything or stopping Cho Byeol, he couldn't help but say this. 

"No, I don't mind that. After all, if you wanted to harm her, you already would have done so, and which place can be better than this cave. Just go and let me rest" Bae Ah replied casually, not caring at all. 

In the past two weeks, they could be said to have become good friends. And she also knew about Yang Zhai's personality and what kind of person he was, so she didn't mind. He would never harm such an innocent girl.

"Let's go" with that said, Yang Zhai and Cho Byeol left the cave.

After leaving the cave, they directly went to see the black flower leaves. The place where the black flower leaves were located wasn't far away from the cave, only a thousand and a few hundred meters away.

"Hey, don't you have any friends?" Cho Byeol asked while walking.

"Why would you say that? Don't I have you guys?" When Yang Zhai heard Cho Byeol, he couldn't help but think about his previous life and the betrayals he endured in this life.

"No, no, that's not what I mean. What I mean is, apart from us, don't you have any other friends. I can guess that you have been living alone for many years. And nobody came to visit you, and you didn't even mention anyone in the past weeks. It's like you don't have any friends or someone you care about" Cho Byeol said while looking at Yang Zhai

"Friends, huh, can I ask you something? What do you think friends are made for? Yang Zhai asked.

"I think for no reason, they just become your friends," Cho Byeol said.

"For no reason, huh. Maybe that's why they leave you because they become your friends for no reason. If they do become your friends for some reason, then they use you" Yang Zhai said slowly as if reminiscing about the past. 

When Cho Byeol heard this, she could feel the pain in his words and loneliness in him and his personality. But she didn't say anything.

"Anyway, forget about that and tell me, aren't you scared about coming with me alone?" Yang Zhai asked her, changing the topic.

"Why would I be? You said it yourself, we're friends, aren't we? And I didn't become friends for no reason or for some reason," Cho Byeol said while smiling.

When Yang Zhai saw her, he couldn't help but smile. This girl was just too innocent and pure, she knew nothing about the world.

"Oh, when did I say that? What I meant was `` don't I have you guys to fool around, why would I need any friends, when I have two little idiots around me." Yang Zahi said teasingly.

When Cho Byeol heard him, she smiled as if not minding him at all. Her behavior was graceful. She was really enjoying her time with Yang Zhai because she was getting to know many things, which she hadn't even heard of before.

And Yang Zhai had also promised to let them have one or two black flower leaves. After all, he had grown more than he needed. 

After an hour or so, they reached the place where the Black flower leaves were located. It took them that long because they were walking very slowly and were talking on the way.

Black flower leaves were the same as before and as beautiful as ever. When Cho Byeol saw them again, she was very happy. 

"Have you not seen flowers as beautiful as these?" When Yang Zhai saw her smiling, he said.

"Well, no, I never left my clan ever since I was a child. And we don't have such beautiful flowers in our clan," Cho Byeol said while looking at the flowers. 

The reality was an illusion, which could be changed if a man wanted. It could be destroyed if someone wakes you from your illusion. A man tries to do what he thinks. And to Cho Byeol, the illusion was the only thing she lived with until now.

When Yang Zhai heard that, he was surprised, the girl in front of her never left her clan? To Yang Zhai, it was a surprise, but he also somewhat understood it. After all, if she had really left her clan, she might not be what she was now.
