A failed incantation

Lance stood outside the girls' quarters, shifting his weight from one foot to another. He couldn't believe he was actually here, trying to sneak into the girls' quarters just so he could talk to Glenda. But it was the only way. He needed to explain what had happened during the love spell class.

He sighed and leaned against the wall, his heart racing with anxiety. What if Glenda refused to see him? What if she was still angry about what had happened in class? He rubbed a hand over his face, trying to calm himself down.

Just then, he heard a soft voice calling out his name. He looked up to see Mara, walking towards him with a tray of food in her hands.

"Hey, Lance," Mara greeted him warmly. "I brought a meal for Glenda, she's feeling a bit under the weather."

Lance smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Mara. I really appreciate it," he said. "Listen, I need to talk to Glenda. Can you help me get her to come out here?"

Mara nodded, understanding the urgency in Lance's voice. "Of course, Lance.
