A necklace

Glenda was up before the dawn had even begun to break over the sleepy medieval town. She dressed quickly and quietly, careful not to wake her slumbering friend, Mara. The only sounds she could hear were the occasional snore from some of the other students and the rustle of blankets as some stirred in their sleep.

She made her way through the dimly lit corridors of the school, her eyes scanning the shadows for any signs of life. But all was quiet and still. She moved swiftly, her feet barely making a sound on the creaky wooden floors.

As she approached the entrance to the dungeon, she was met by two imposing guards. They looked down at her with suspicion and demanded to know why she was there.

"What's your business here?" one of them asked.

"I have permission from Miss Eloise to visit Lance," Glenda lied confidently. "I was asked to check on him and bring him some food."

The guards narrowed their eyes and asked to see her pass.
