Jodge woke up abruptly in the middle of the night, feeling the familiar presence of the Eskern demon he had being possessed with. He lay in bed for a moment, listening to the sound of his breathing and the silence of the dormitory. He could feel the demon's anger and frustration, and it was that it wanted to talk. He sat up slowly, trying to shake off the grogginess of sleep, and then he slipped out of bed and tiptoed towards the door of the dorm room. He heard someone stir and he froze. He didn't want a repeat of the last time when Lance followed him without him knowing, so he waited, hiding close to the steel bunk of someone who was snoring. At the rate, the boy was going to wake everybody up. When he was sure no one had woken, he crept out of the dorm, holding the Eskern totem in his robe pocket. He walked through the winding corridors of the labyrinth, noticing the beastly paintings once more on the walls. He reached the open rocky space where the crack in the wall had gotten big
Lance walked into Professor Trevor's office, greeted him and sat down on the chair opposite him. The professor looked up from his papers and smiled at Lance. "How can I help you, Lance?" he asked."I just wanted to talk to you about the spells I cannot perform. It's just been on my mind and it's so frustrating " Lance replied, looking down at his hands. "I haven't been able to practice any magic spells recently and I don't know what's happening to me. Even though I have tried."Professor Trevor's expression was compassionate. "You have to take it easy with yourself Lance. Don't dwell on it so much so that you start being depressed."Lance shook his head. "Yes, I know professor. But I'm just dejected and disappointed. I don't think I'll ever be a mage again and it's my greatest pain."The professor leaned back in his chair, considering this. "Lance, let me give you a short synopsis of what will eventually happen here in Wiccan. Now there are students from this magic school who will go
Lance let out a sigh, feeling defeated. He thought back to when he saw the boy who wielded the water spell and turned it to iced arrows. The power and control the boy had over the water spell had always fascinated him. He realized that was the spell he wanted to master next. But he had to be careful what his decision was. He could only learn one spell now. The phoenix had probably made it so, giving him another chance at learning something else, another chance at redemption. "There is no time, you'll have to make your decision fast" The phoenix said. He looked back at the phoenix and said, "I want the water spell." The phoenix nodded and said, "Prepare for your next water lesson, then.. Until we meet again." With a smug smile, the phoenix flapped its wings and took to the air, before disappearing in a blaze of flames.Lance stood there, staring at the spot where the phoenix had just been. He couldn't believe what had just happened. He had been chosen by the system and had the oppor
Jodge sat quietly in his dorm room in the middle of the night, deep in thought. Suddenly, the Eskern demon appeared from the totem on his nightstand. Jodge tensed up, expecting the demon to berate him again for his failure to defeat Lance. He had known the creature to be very impatient, enough to appear in the dorm room where others could wake up and easily spot the demon. "Do you want to put me in trouble? Why are you doing this?.. you could have told me you wanted to talk and I'd have found a safe place""Now is the time," the demon said, his voice low and menacing, ignoring his complaint. "It's time to go to war with Wiccan, with Golredot. My people are ready to be free, to take over, you are so slothful and lazy... you need to begin now""I'd appreciate it you let me go to bed.." Jodge said, tiredly. The demon hissed, but said nothing. "you can't possibly be expecting me to go right now and initiate a war? You gotta be kidding me." "No, of course not. But the time has come" The
****A knock landed on professor Trevor's door, suddenly interrupting the activities of the man. Quickly wrapping the items placed on the table with a cloth already spread on the table, he hurriedly set it aside and then placed it into one of the open boxes besides his chair.Adjusting his position on his chair, he cleared his throat to give consent to the person who was at the door. "You can come in"."Oh Lance".Professor Trevor called out, his tone carrying a hint of surprise as he glanced at the figure approaching him. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?"."Good morning Professor Trevor". Lance greeted, a small smile playing on his lips. "I skipped class but I would be able to cover its lesson, can I take a seat please?". Lance gestured at the chair in front of him."Please do". Professor Trevor waved him to sit. Seeing he was now seated, he placed his hands on the table as he stared at the young boy. "What can I do for you,?".Seeing the boy keeping mute at his question, he quirk
"Here they are. The boys are here!". Mara pointed at the direction of the two boys, who were already making their way towards them.Quickly turning to the direction of Liam and Lance, they saw Glenda give them a quick smile and then turned her gaze away to fold back the scroll she had been writing on and then muttering few words to the others on the bench.Liam and Lance who were about to trudge toward the direction of the bench where the rest of their friends sat, suddenly paused at their movements when they heard a loud deafening sound and then quickly shielded their ears from the loud bang of explosion which resounded round the entire lab.Everyone followed suit with this action, quickly taking cover and shielding their ears. But that only had little or no effect at lessening the impact of the ear-shattering sound on their ears. Everyone's ears were already ringing from the blast.Silence ensued. A mishap had happened!.Everyone was thrown into silence and all attention were d
Danica who had been crying, suddenly stopped and then had her head bowed. And when no one was watching, a slow victorious smile crept up to her lips and her eyes flashed with a menacing light. The rest of the students could do nothing but send glares to Danica whose head was bowed and of course if glares were knives, she would have been cut into bits by bits.Lamiel sent the last glare to Danica who didn't look at him and he wished she would have just looked up, just looked up to catch those glares. He wanted her to know she was not going to escape his wrath. Slowly unclenching his clenched fists, he turned around to follow his level mates out.The rest of the girls who slowly walked turned back to see Danica slowly rise and all the traces of tears in her eyes vanished and their anger could only intensify. The bitch had obviously lied. She had lied about them isolating her, she had deliberately made everyone isolate her and she had never questioned anyone about potions. What a filthy
"Ah!". Lance grunted, his eyes watering from the pain. Wheezing, he tried to raise his hand to see how burnt it was but he couldn't see anything. Shit! He was in total darkness.Looking around in the dark and still kneeling in pains, he turned to the direction where he had seen Jodge stand before throwing the ball of flame and his heart stopped for a sec.He couldn't see anything, not even a trace of light. Was… was he now blind?".**** The night was still dark and the moon was threatening to show. To cast away the darkness that surrounded the Academy. The students still asleep and the only sounds that could be heard were the little drops of water and the whisperings from the wind.Suddenly, a figure in a hoodie appeared from one of the windows, carefully making its way down the ivy- coloured wall. The figure landed quietly on the ground and looked around, making sure no one was watching. Then the figure moved quickly and quietly, making its way through the Academy's garden and towa
