Chapter 116: Repeated Failures.

Tears welled up in the eyes of the Hendersons, and they resumed their desperate pleas for mercy. However, Adonis had reached a point where their entreaties fell on deaf ears. He received a call from the commissioner, diverting his attention from the distraught family and he listened attentively as the commissioner relayed important information. One of the task force agents had reported a potential sighting of one of Oliver's henchmen.

Adonis's curiosity piqued, and he immediately inquired about how the agents had identified the henchman. The commissioner's voice held a note of urgency as he replied, "I'll need to gather more information and get back to you later, Prince Adonis. We just wanted to keep you updated, that’s all."

With that, Adonis hung up the call.

He knew now that his mission at the Hendersons' residence was complete so he bid them a curt farewell and rose to his feet, ready to depart. They clung to his legs, their voices filled with desperation, pleading for him to stay
