Chapter 50: Who Wins?

To everyone’s amazement and dismay, Adonis asked to buy the whole boutique itself, with all the goods contained inside of it. It was awe-striking and appalling to everyone that even the manager stood stunned for a moment. Silence descended on them as dew and anticipation hung heavy in the atmosphere. The request stung Oliver like an arrow to the heart that his knees wobbled in utter disbelieving fright.

Harriet wasn’t left out in that marveling moment, as she also was stunned at the fact that Adonis would want to buy something that expensive and expect Oliver to counter it.

Jesse, on the other hand, watched Adonis make the decision. But as much as he did not like the extravagant height Adonis was climbing, he didn’t make a move to stop him. Anything to hinder a joyous expression from etching on Oliver's prideful look.

“How much does it cost? The boutique?” Adonis asked the manager with an unhinged expression, as if he had all the wealth in the world to squander without effort.
