A Shock

When the heating stove's fire started to shrink, Erna immediately threw another lump of wood. The fire slowly grew and the room temperature grew warmer. It wasn't long before Erni sat beside him. They were silent while watching the snow frogs hunting the insects that Erna had given them. Now and then the frogs were silent staring at something empty.

“Hey, sometimes, I think I'd better be a star. Especially frogs," said Erna breaking the silence.

"Why do you think so?" asked Erni who was surprised by her twin sister's statement.

“Whatever fate befell them, they always accept it. Look at these frogs. Brought by our father in a frozen state. Separated from family and friends. They continue to live. Even fate feeds him through my hands.” Erna opened her right hand wide.

"Then, think of yourself as an animal," Erni patted Erna's shoulder.
