While Shane and Bianca were messing around in detention, Shane's phone began to ring again. Bianca didn't mind at first, but when she noticed he was ignoring it too, she voiced her annoyance.

"Your phone" she still kept her eyes on the random doodles she was sketching on her notebook "Yeah I know, I'm ignoring it"

"Reason?"

"It might be my parents"

"And?"

"If it's really then I might end up throwing the phone out of the window when I hear their voices" he seethed "Fair enough" she reached out to grab it, giving a quick glance at the caller "It's not your parents"

"Who is it then?"

"Dunno, you saved them as 'Crazy-ass conspirator' with an alien emoji next to it" Shane groaned "That's Alex then"

"Isn't he the friend you kept mentioning when we first met? I think your sister said he's your only friend" she teased, making him flinch "That's not... ok fine he's actually my only friend, but still!" he snatched the phone back, scoffing as he answered.

"What?" he asked annoyed "Well

"Shane?" Angela called, tugging his sleeve as they walked to school "Yes?" "Are you ok?" he raised an eyebrow "I am... why are you asking?" "You seemed a bit... out if it today" "What do you mean?" "Well, first of, you put salt instead of sugar in dad's coffee this morning" Shane will never tell her that it wasn't an accident... because he 100% did that intentionally. A little personal revenge for what him and his mom said the other day if you wanted to say. "Second, you forgot to grab your backpack" He flinched, reflexively reaching out for it and noticing that he did in fact, forgot to bring his backpack "Oh fu-" Angela poked him, making him notice that she had it in her hands, having grabbed it for him. She handed it out with a sarcastic look "And third, you have to be beyond blind to not notice I had your stuff all along" Shane felt really embarrassed as he took his own backpack from his little sister, awkwardly swinging it on his back. It's not like it was heavy for her a

Although thanks to their late night talk, Shane was able to settle the argument he had had with Bianca, that didn't change that he basically didn't get any sleep at all, since they both had to rush back home and get ready to school. "How you are up now is beyond me" he grumbled as he nuzzled his head in the make-shift pillow that he was trying to make with his arms, not listening to a word the teacher was saying, like always. Bianca, on the other hand was wide awake and calmly sketching something on her notebook "I am used to not sleep much, so it doesn't affect me too a lot anyway" Shane smirked at the yawn that occasionally escaped her mouth, proving that she was just try to act tough. "Want to ditch school and go back to bed?" "I wish! My dad put up cameras around the house, he'll notice if I come back early" she mumbled obviously annoyed. "You are the old one here" he hummed, getting interrupted by a yawn, which was soon followed by a punch "Ouch!" "Mind saying that again l

Walking back home, Shane's mind was filled with an endless flow of question. What was that weird dream about? Why did it feel so real? What was that strange black fog? What about that monster that chased him and... who is Sebastian? "Sebastian..." he mumbled, his attention focused on following the cracks on the sidewalk, their wriggly and uneven course helping him keep his mind busy, even though it was just a little bit. He felt like he knew that kid but... for some reason he couldn't remember... why couldn't he remember? "Maybe I was too young? But no matter how young I was I reckon I would remember a beast like that, it was traumatizing just to watch it!" What happened to that kid? What happened to him? Where were they? He couldn't recognize the surroundings in his dreams at all, why couldn't he? Even though Shane sucked at learning school stuff, he had a flawless memory when it came to direction and memorizing places. That's why he almost never got lost, it was enough for him

"Dude, you look like you've seen an alien, what happened?" Alex asked as he watched Shane stir his coffee for the past four minutes or so. He hadn't even added anything in it yet. "I just... have a lot on my mind at the moment" "About the aliens? Did they brainwash you?" Shane gave him a sarcastic look, letting out a sigh "I don't know who or what to believe anymore Alex. Mom and dad said they wanted to get rid of Angela in the past, but now dad comes up saying that he was faking it all along to protect us and didn't fight back because he's a coward. Then I start having these weird nightmares and Bianca thinks is my subconscious trying to warm me about something but I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT-" Alex shoved a muffin in his friend's mouth in an attempt to make him shut up "Eat, you're not yourself when you're hungry" he half meant that and half wanted to make fun of him. Cold. That was the first thing he remembered when he first opened his eyes. It was cold, the air he breathed it was the proof of it, since it came out as a steamy cloud, making his whole body shiver in response. The creature blinked several times before it's eyes started to adjust to the dim light of the night. The cold feeling soon subdued as his fur quickly grew, covering his once fur-less body, warming him up. He was still frightened, terrified. Everywhere he looked saw nothing but darkness, hearing the howling and growling of predators a hundred times bigger than him. He panicky looked for shelter, for something, someone that could help him. Protect him. And that's when he looked up, seeing the starred sky. A sky clear of any clouds, his eyes fixing on the beautiful masterpiece that it was being displayed above him. The creature didn't know how much time he had spent staring at it, inspecting each and every small star that his eyes could spot, sometimes giving it names, other t

'Another fire?' Onerios thought as he smelled smoke in the air 'We need to leave before it catches up' he climbed down from the cliff he had been standing, walking towards a small bush and using the light on his head to communicate with his siblings, telling them to stick close and follow him. They calmly popped out from the bush and stuck to his fur. He then walked the opposite direction from where he smelled the fire, crossing a few streams just to be safe. Mother taught him that the wind could change suddenly, ending up trapping him in a circle of fire, so he always made sure to put as much distance between him and that danger as possible. Onerios thought of travelling to a new part of the forest, or a new forest altogether, seeing how this one was burning down. 'It's not fire season yet though... a human probably lost control of their camp fire again' he sighed, heading north as his siblings made themselves comfortable in his fur, taking a nap. 'Look at these lazy little lights

Oneiros and the little human girl kept meeting several times after that day, mostly once a week, during what humans called "the weekend". She would often bring food with her, other times books or toys to show off to him, bragging about how she could already read complicated books like these ones while her classmates were still at easy ones that just told stories. Although, Oneiros was pretty convinced that she was just reading them to learn big words so to sound smart. It was quite a peculiar duo they made, while Oneiros was considerably older than her in age, both mentally and physically, he still enjoyed her company, his days became a little more busy when she was around, especially since he had to make sure she didn't fall off a cliff or in a river. Soon enough, his siblings started warming up to her as well and agreed to keep their weekly meetings a secret from their mother. Still, Oneiros made a mental note to talk and question her when he felt ready. They managed to overco

He had sent them the finished product they requested, aka the virus, after a few days. Spending an excruciating long time bashing his head on the keyboard, fixing every little problem and making sure there was nothing wrong with it, he didn't want it to end up malfunctioning when they booted it up. "Still inside, Imma get him right now, don't worry, just sit tight I'll be right back" but just as he tried to get back inside from the door he came out of, he found it locked "What the fuck?!" he tried to pull harder, but to no avail "Fuck it, I'll just use the ladder" he sprinted inside the cabin, trying the trapdoor, but finding that locked as well. "What the fuck is going on!? Why are they locked!?" he ran back outside, trying the door again. "W... what's happening?" Angela asked, terrif

The wolf turned his body around, pushing Bianca with his head, forcing her to stand up. "What are you doing?" he whined, looking up. She followed his gaze and saw the trapdoor at the end of the ladder, which had been left open, luckily for them. "You... want me to escape?" he nodded, flinching as another bullet hit in in the back "No! The hunter and the wolf

Bianca couldn't remember what happened clearly. All she knew was that she had a knife pressed against her neck just a second ago, the superficial cut and blood dripping out of it was proof. When she started to feel the knife cut her skin, a loud howl echoed throughout the room, followed by the sound of glass shattering. She reflexively closed her eyes, covering her head as she got pushed and pulled around for several seconds before it all came to a stop. When she sheepishly opened one of her eyes to see what happened, much to her surprise, there was a large blue wolf protecting her from the two kidnappers. "W... wha..." she shakily sat up and looked around, her fever making her vision blurry and slightly dizzy, not really helping in the situation she was in "Am I hallucinating? Or did I die?" she mumbled to herself, pinching her arm to confirm that, at the very least, she wasn't dreaming. "Well, whether I died or not... this is definitely the weirdest thing I've ever seen... by far

And why did I feel guilt when I watched it? Could... could it be that... no, no there's no way that this thing was even remotely real, I mean, blue wolves? What are they gonna tell me next? He's a liar, he won't admit to it even when the truth is shoved right to his face, let's just kill him now and put an end to this" Sebastian growled angrily."In due time boy, first let's make him show his true colors now, shall we?" he

Shane couldn't believe his eyes, he couldn't mutter a single word or move a single muscle as that matter. All he could do was stare, mouth agape, at the large screens on the walls as he watched a large blue-furred wolf murder a kid. But that's not what had unsettled him the most. What unsettled him was that the kid looked a lot like his younger self, not only that, his voice was also identical. "W-wha... what is this?! This has to be a fake! Why are you showing me a footage that's clearly been edited!?" he shouted as Sebastian kept an impassible expression, almost like he was expecting a different reaction from him. "Oh really? Edited?" he chuckled "I wouldn't expect you out of all people to pull out such a flimsy excuse" he started pacing around Shane's glass cage "Or is it that perhaps you have no honor? Maybe you don't even regret doing it, do you?" he grinned "You never had the face of someone who regretted murder to be fair" Shane at this point was completely lost, he didn't

'What do I do now?! This is such a mess! Mother is gone and Father will be here in less then a week! Ugh why didn't I keep track of time!?' Oneiros was stressing out, pacing restlessly in front of his lair after the argument of the night before. 'Should I run away? But where to? It was always mother who pointed me towards a new location to live in, I can't leave without her! I'm the one who sent her away... but how the fuck do I get her back now?!' he stopped in his tracks 'The cubs... if I don't leave, I would be putting them in danger... but if I do leave... they might search for me and get lost... and if by some miracle they do end up finding me..." he shook his head, not wanting the thought to even cross his mind. 'I-i need to call mother back... but how... maybe howling again will work?' he looked up at the dark sky, only the stars being visible in the night as he let out a loud howl, using all the air in his lungs. But unfortunately for him, nothing happened. He tried several
