Aamon couldn’t believe that Elsie was actually asking him for a duel. He was really not expecting to enter into a duel right away. Knowing that his rank was still a novice, Aamon was settled to improving his skill and getting himself a better weapon first.On top of that, he didn’t expect his reputation to be trampled by the fact that his first duel would be with a woman. At some point, Aamon kind of feared that he might actually end up getting defeated by Elsie.Such shame would befall on him had he been defeated by this game of drunkards.“Yes, that is if you’re not that cowardly enough to challenge me.” Elsie answered back.“It’s not that, I am not coward. “Didn’t you hear me? I asked you where do you plan to take my daughter?” asked the voice again.It compelled Aamon to look at the source of the voice coming from behind. It left Aamon speechless for about a while. He couldn’t even bring up what he initially came here for. Facing Vicente this close somehow intimidated Aamon.He wanted to talk to him about his purpose, but for some reason, it felt as though his tongue won’t just move to speak up.“So, are you just going to stay quiet and stare at me forever?” Vicente eventually broke the silence that also caused Aamon to flinch.He came to senses and realized how much time he had actually wasted overthinking. “No, I–I, uh, well I—” he begin to stammer. Aamon was caught between crossroads. He was reluctant to take the offer knowing that he would barely purchase anything with the ten gold coins, however, knowing the value that Vicente had told Aamon, it would appear that the price of the Falcona indeed depreciated upon its death.If there was something that Aamon realized as a lesson he would gained from here, it was the fact that trading should really be about profit and not just the value.“Alright, I really need the gold coins right now so I’ll take it.” Aamon eventually agreed.He had no choice, he couldn’t keep the Falcona with him and find another trader.
