At this point, Aamon was in a difficult position because he needed to decide whether he should make a move that would only put his neck in danger of being slashed by Hoxfur's blade, or whether he should just let the situation continue so that Hoxfur could completely cut through his neck.

In the end, it wouldn't matter how things turned out because he would still die in any of the options he was thinking.

Before Hoxfur could take his life, Aamon ought to have already devised a way out of the predicament he is in, regardless of whether or not it would be a crucial plan to get out of it.

“Why are you doing this, Hoxfur?” Aamon inquired about it right away. Since Hoxfur was also choking him, he even had difficulty with the way he spoke. He found this particularly difficult to overcome given the way that he could not even think of a way to free himself.

Aamon found it amusing that despite Hoxfur's seemingly frail appearance, she actually gave off an impression of being quite tough.
