CHAPTER 9

Bruce eagerly anticipated the moment when Aamon would face embarrassment at the hands of the imposing gentleman in a tuxedo, who appeared to be the club's manager.

A wicked smile spread across Bruce's face. He could already envision the immense humiliation that awaited Aamon.

"Excuse me, is there an issue with the card?" Aamon nervously inquired. He suddenly felt a pang of concern as he wondered if the card Deshna had given him had been used too much and was now declined.

"Hey, Aamon, remember when you mentioned that someone gave you that black card?" Rupert leaned in close to Aamon and quietly voiced his concern, "Do you think this could be some kind of trap?"

"What do you mean this is all just a setup?" Aamon whispered his response.

"You know, like a scenario that places you in a life-threatening predicament? Just like this one." Rupert responded, his voice carrying a hint of fear.

“You’re being irrational, Rupert. We couldn’t possibly die just because the card I bought declined.”
