As the footstep proceeded to the corner where he was, he took action, forcing the person to the ground before looking to see who it was.

“Gibson it’s me.”

“Trisha!” Stan was not expecting her but all the same he let go and helped her back on her feet as he was short of words to say next.

“Where did you learn to do that?” Trisha asked him because he was not that skilled when he was in the school.

“Why are you stalking me? You’ve delivered your message and I really appreciate it.” Stan was indirectly asking her to go away. He didn’t understand why she was being nice all of a sudden so he couldn’t trust her action of following him.

Trisha understood the true implication of his words, and had to answer based on what he truly meant. “I can’t go back to the school. They’ve tagged me a traitor for revealing their plan to you now I am wanted too.”

“Well that is your cross to bear. It has nothing to do with me. Besides, you are the one who is augmented.” Stan said as he picked his bag ready to leave that place because he thought Trisha was leading the others to him. He did not know what attribute had been augmented by her chip.

“That is the reason why you have to stick with me. Admit you need my help and stop pretending.” Trisha said while he took the steps away from her.

“I don’t need your help. I know what you are up to.” Stan said as he walked away from her.

But Trisha was not going to give up on him at this moment when her life was in danger due to her good deeds. She goes after him, dragging him by the hand so that he looks at her then she said. “I need your help Stan Gibson. I can’t fight them alone.”

“You have to look for someone else to help you.”

“Consider this a favor returned and then we will part ways forever.” Trisha said as she looked into his eyes. She still did not know what was attracting her to him and why she believes he can help her but she was always following her heart and this time was not going to be different.

Stan was struck by her words about returning the favor that he stopped to hear her out and also know what exactly she wanted from him and why she believes he can help her. He did not utter any audible words but his expression did the communication.

“I saw how you were able to absorb pain and get back on your feet after receiving beatings from those men and just some minutes ago you dealt mercilessly with one of them. Why didn’t you tell us that you had a chip too like the rest of us? You would have been accepted in the school but instead you chose to act as if you are neutral. Your ability is rare and if you could prove to them that you are not neutral, I am sure they will stop hunting you. In short, they will welcome you back with great honor.”

Stan was surprised at how she was able to know about the attack he received from those men, he could remember very well that no one was on that street at the time when they attacked him. And it was after that incident that Adoth chose him. He wants to tell Trisha the truth but since he does not trust her, he prefers to say. “How long have you been stalking me? They sent you right? Tell me the truth.” He was very angry as he asked her these questions in a threatening manner which would force words out of her.

“Please don’t hurt me, I mean no harm.” Trisha was frightened, her body was shaking with fear that Stan would descend on her. She understood how he felt and the reason why he should think that way was justifiable by anyone, so she did not know how to prove to him that she was not sent by the school.

“I will only hurt if you don’t tell me the truth. So start talking.” Stan was still wearing the fearsome face as that was the only way to make her confess seeing that it was already working.

“I swear by my life, they didn’t send me. I ran ahead of them after they were done selecting those who will come after you then I found the footage of those men beating you and how you later got up as though it didn’t happen. That was how I was able to track you to the building where I warned you about their coming. I even destroyed the videos so it would be difficult for them to track you.” Trisha reveals the whole truth of how she is able to keep up with him. She was still shaking as she spoke out.

When she was done talking, Stan was still having doubts because her story could be a made up one just to deceive him, so he turned away from her as he whispered to himself. “Adoth, what do you think?”

[She is telling the truth. I also think you have more use for her than she does for you.]

He turned back to her after getting the major thing he wanted to hear from the system, the second part of Adoth’s sentence was not his concern.

“You said if I am able to prove to them that I am not neutral, they will stop haunting me?”

“I guess.” Trisha was more than before. She had to make it known to him it was only a probability which she wasn’t sure of so that he would not see her as a liar when things didn't turn out the way she had thought.

“Who is leading the team and how are they tracking me if you truly destroyed the footage?” Stan wanted to get all the necessary information so that he would know the best decision and action to take.

“Master Sullivan Nathan is leading the team. Lisa Perry is the one spotting out your trails for them and Atkinson Marvin is part of the team.” Trisha answered his question.

The names she mentioned were nothing to surprise Stan with. Sullivan was his most hated teacher and that was the reason why he never went close to those learning how to fight. Atkinson was someone who always wanted to get rid of him from the school. Lisa was the only person who he never suspected to come with them because she was quite too gentle to want to hunt anyone, especially someone helpless and harmless like himself.

“Who else is on the team?”

“Jerald Burns, Ling Tingzhe, Oscar Johnston, Rudo Walid and Callum Jones.”

The names mentioned proved that the school had sent their best after him. The weakest link based on his thinking was Lisa but being the only female, she would be protected heavily and it would be very difficult for him to penetrate her. He guessed this was the time he needed Trisha’s help.

“You are close to all these people, who is the weakest link? Who has the softest heart?”

“Is there any need for that?” Trisha asked before all of them are strong willed that was why they were chosen.

“Yes, there is. Just answer the question.”

Trisha shrugged as she did not still get why he was asking about that but she believed he had a plan so he said. “That should be Rudo and Ling.”

[Fight or run?]

Those words meant that danger was close and Adoth was giving options to choose from as either option would boast his attributes in a significant way.

“How many minutes do I have?” Stan asked Adoth so he would know if the time was enough to make a plan and choose fighting over running.

Stan noticed he was being pursued and the moment he looked back to see it was Ling and Rudo whom Trisha had said was the weakest link, he was happy, so he looked for the next lonely street to take, somewhere he could easily take out the two of them, not necessarily killing them.As he took the turn, he stopped at a distance and waited for them. From his experience fighting those thugs, he knew that it would take some time before Sullivan and the other would end the fight but for sure, he knew that the thugs would lose. So it was for him to make good use of his time.Ling and Rudo were surprised to see that Stan stopped when he could have continued running, Rudo was the one to notice Stan’s fist showing that he wanted to fight them. “This is not necessary, Gibson.”“You know you can’t beat us, so surrender and come with us, you might be spared if we plead to the masters on your behalf.” Ling added. From the way they both sound, Stan could see the reason why Trisha said they were the we

He was still looking at Trisha but it was obvious to her that his mind was no longer in the thing which she was saying. So Trisha had to bring his mind back from wherever it had gone. “Gibson, are you even listening to me?” While Trisha was trying to get his mind to come back to what she was talking about in order for him to agree with her, Ling was taking note of his strange behavior. Meanwhile Rudo was so focused on getting loose from the chair as he also wanted to know how Gibson could hide the power of his chip all the days he was in the Elite academy. “Of course, I heard you right. By the way, why do you care? I know you are only after your benefit.” Stan replied to Trisha. “Oh! Is that what it is now? I risked my life to warn of their plot to kill you. I guess that was also after my benefits. You ingrate.” Trisha had to spark up, showing Stan that he was not the only one who could ge

I said you should return to Sullivan as you wish.” Trisha was quick to give him a response, “Rudo here refused to go without you.” Rudo had to now speak for himself. “You know how this works Ling, Master Sullivan expects us to come back together so it is not wise that I return alone. Stop going after Stan and let’s return to the others. Together we have a higher chance of beating him than if we are alone. You already saw that we couldn’t catch him alone.” “And who said anything about fighting him again?” Ling asked Rudo because he was not going after Stan to continue the fight but for something else. The question he asked was o

Now he had two of them facing him as Trisha laid on the ground because he had already been cut in her right leg therefore moving was very difficult.Rudo was onto the top of the alien that he had pushed to the ground and was releasing a series of blows on it even though it was pointless as they had hit those aliens with all they had yet there was no effect. While punching the alien hard, another stabbed him from the back causing him to cease the punch in pain.“Noooooo…” Stan showed up as he rushed the alien that had stabbed Rudo. Even Trisha the main reason why he chose to take on the task which Adoth had given him, he still did not want Rudo dead. Besides the system did not instruct him to save only Trisha, rather he was instructed to save the three of them meaning that if Rudo dies the task was not a success.Meanwhile the ali

I can’t make it.”“We are not leaving you.” Ling Tingzhe and Stan Gibson disagreed strongly with him. Their focus was more on him because he was wounded in a more critical place than Trisha.“Thank you Gibson, I wanted you dead yet you are still here trying to save my life. They were quite confident that she would because she was now breathing in the normal way which anyone sleeping would. In the course of waiting for her to wake up, Adoth then chose to give Stan the reports of his last task which was also his first legal task, reasoning being that he had to fight against the things that he is to protect earth against. [XP gained.]As he heard the report from Adoth, he expected to hear more, yet none was coming so he had to ask questions to why but he could not do that in the presence of Ling since he was yet to know about the system, so he excused himself from the room, going down stairs where he would freely interact with Adoth with being interrupted by Ling due to curiosity of him speaking to himself.“Adoth, why am I not g

Just as Oscar was approaching Stan to carry out the instruction he was given, Ling Tingzhe came up in front of Stan and said to Sullivan. “Master, please, this is not necessary.”“Will you move aside?!” Sullivan scolded him because his standing in front of Stan caused Oscar to stop.“Ling, you know the consequences of what you are about to do.” Atkinson reminded him as the anger in their faces was waxed high due to what they were seeing and how Ling had turned out to be in favor of Stan instead of the mission which they had left the school for.Ling was st

Nations began to rebuild their structures which were destroyed by the aliens, and the world kept mentioning one name, Stan Gibson, hero of the world, because he was at the fore front of every battle against the aliens. The leaders of China, America, Russia, United Kingdom and other nations which he fought besides, had no option than to sing his praise along with the praises of his team Ling Tingzhe, Nassor Dimka and Trisha Graham. The war against aliens made the whole world to realise that humans are the same irrespective of their race and status and could be able to achieve anything they set their minds towards. It was no longer a wonder to the world how a low class could lead the so called elites and military to victory over an enemy which was far stronger than them. Each continent honored the heroes, awarding medels of different kinds. But as she looked at him, he smiled with joy and it was not pretentious because he was really in a happy mood.Yet that smile did not stop her from asking. "You are so quiet. Is there anything bothering you?"He wanted to hide it but he could not since he had trained himself to be very honest and sincere and it would be very difficult for him to change in that aspect. "Excuse me," she draws the attention of the guard. The guard was amazed to see that the new Queen was still wandering around the palace, so he said to her, "My lady, are you still looking for the chamber of his majesty?" He asked this question because it was known to him that the King had called her to his room, so he thought she should have been with the King. "Ermm," she stammered. She had not known her way around more to even know where her room was and it would be embarrassing to ask the soldier to direct her to her room because she knew according to tradition that she was supposed to spend the night with his new husband. So she thought of the best thing to cover up her wandering around the palace. "Actually, I'm coming from the King's chamber, I know it's that direction." She pointed the right direction to

It's been twenty years since the death of the Queen of Ocalis, leaving her husband, the dragon King Nassor Dimka to be very brutal and dangerous, as all he sought was to rule the entire world, so taking over Kingdoms and dukedoms had been the only thing that gives joy and rest to his soul and the dragon in him. This continued until he came to Kingdom of Erellan, ruled by King Stan Gibson to do likewise as he had done to many other Kingdoms before now, but there he saw a young beautiful damsel, Ling, who remained him of his late wife and mate, Patricia, so he found it difficult to take his eye off her until she had left their presence after delivering a message to her King. King Stan knew that Nassor had come to take over his Kingdom either by his succumbing or by force which would be his death, but from the way he saw the dragon King stare at Ling still she left, he had an idea that came into his mind, so he said it out immediately.
