At the hearing of this, Stan’s countenance changed totally, he did not know what to do again. He was still looking at Trisha but it was obvious to her that his mind was no longer in the thing which she was saying.
So Trisha had to bring his mind back from wherever it had gone. “Gibson, are you even listening to me?”While Trisha was trying to get his mind to come back to what she was talking about in order for him to agree with her, Ling was taking note of his strange behavior. Meanwhile Rudo was so focused on getting loose from the chair as he also wanted to know how Gibson could hide the power of his chip all the days he was in the Elite academy.“Of course, I heard you right. By the way, why do you care? I know you are only after your benefit.” Stan replied to Trisha.“Oh! Is that what it is now? I risked my life to warn of their plot to kill you. I guess that was also after my benefits. You ingrate.” Trisha had to spark up, showing Stan that he was not the only one who could get angry.“Fine. You’ve made your point. They are yours, do whatever pleases you with them. I’m out. I hope you keep to yours and stop following me around.”“Sure I will. You will never see me again.” Trisha was quick to give him a reply because she was more concerned about her life at this point than his and her belief was that sending Ling and Rudo back to master Sullivan would make him forgive her of his sin.“I hope I don’t.” Stan said to her as he finally exited the building, leaving Ling and Rudo at her detriment.“So this was all your idea? You planned for us to be captured with that fellow?” Rudo asked in surprise. He didn’t believe that Trisha had gone that far to have planned such against them.“You didn’t hear that.” Trisha tried to confuse him so that her plan would work and they would not later turn to tell the other elites that she planned their capture just to be free from punishment for her crime.“I know what I heard and I believe Ling heard the same thing.” Rudo said as he looked at Ling. He didn’t like the idea that Ling was quiet about that, so he wanted him to say something so that Trisha would know that plan will not work.“Are you going to untie us or not?” Ling asked her instead of what Rudo was expecting him to say. This was not because he didn’t understand what Trisha was up to, rather it was because his mind was not in the plan, it was very far from what they were arguing over.“Now that is someone who wants to be free.” Trisha said as she drew close to Ling and began to untie him. Even as she did this she still said. “Whatever you heard me discussing Gibson is not what I really meant. He caught you and I had to say those words just to let him set you guys free. And yes, I’d also like a favor in return but honestly I didn’t mean for him to catch you guys.”Ling was not paying attention to what she was saying, Rudo was the one who paid attention to her even though he wasn’t the person being referred to. As soon as Ling was completely untied, he walked towards the exit without waiting for Rudo to be untied too. He knew that his aim at this point was different from that of Rudo at the moment.“Hey buddy, are you going to leave me here?” Rudo called for his attention as he saw that Trisha had no intention of untying him until he yielded to whatever plan she had for him.Trisha too was amazed that Ling was walking away just like that, so she also had to call for his attention. “I didn’t lose you to walk out on me. You have a favor to return so we can be even with each other.”“And you have Rudo with you to return that favor on our behalf.” Ling answered her.“Ling…. Don’t tell me you believe what this traitor said?” Rudo asked him.“I guess you have another means to which you will be untied?”“Yes. And that is you. You are to untie me.”“Hey, hey, hey, can I get both your attention now?” Trisha yelled out as she didn’t like the conversation that they were both having. Just as she had requested, they gave her the chance to say what wanted to say, so she began by referring to Rudo. “Look, your friend has made the right choice, now it's left for you to decide whether you want to be left here or not.” Then she turned to Ling while she waited for Rudo to make his choice. “As for you, I repeat, I didn’t lose you to walk away from me. You are going to take me to Master Sullivan Nathan and tell him of how I saved you from the hands of Gibson. I mean the both of you, but if Rudo still chooses to stay here tied up in this chair, it is up to him, then you will take me to Master Sullivan alone.”Rudo just kept looking at Ling to see if he truly meant to leave him there without untying him, and from his observation, Ling was definitely going to leave him there. So he said to Trisha, “You win, now will you untie.”Trisha turned to him as he said those words but did not make any to act by his request. She only gave him a look which was awful and difficult to determine its meaning.“Pleaseeee.” He then added after noticing that is what Trisha was expecting from him after proving stubborn.“I knew you would make the right choice.” Trisha said as she unties him. After she was done losing Rudo from the chair, Ling then said, “I believe I am now permitted to go. Rudo would talk to master Sullivan on your behalf.”“And where are you going?” Rudo asked him.“I’m going after Stan Gibson.” Ling said as he exited the building.“Then I am coming with you.” Rudo said because he felt Ling was still bent on the task which Sullivan gave to them. At least the Chinese boy was known to hardly accept defeat and one from Stan was going to be a big disgrace to his person.Just as Rudo was about to leave the building too, Trisha grabbed him by the wrist, “You are going after them, you heard Ling, so you’ll take me to master Sullivan and tell him of how I saved you from Gibson.”This time Trisha did not say only because she wanted to be free from them chasing her, she also wanted to keep the promise she made to Stan about not seeing him again.“I don’t think you understand how this works,” Rudo replied, even as she was still holding him, he did not need force to cause her to let him go, all he needed was words as everything must not be done forcefully. “Ling and I were given the task to catch Stan so I can not return to master Sullivan alone. It is either Ling and I return without accomplishing the task or you help us get Stan.”Trisha was now quiet for some seconds as she thought over what he just said. She could not force him to take her to Sullivan and she also understood his point very well, therefore the only way for her plan to work out was if she helped him get Ling or both Ling and Stan.“Fuck!” she exclaimed as she let go of his hands.“Ling, Ling, Ling….” Rudo kept calling out loud for Ling to stop.Initially Ling did not want to stop but since the call was becoming too loud that he could not resist again, he had to stop and wait for Rudo and Trisha who had followed him to come close. As they drew near, he did not give them a chance to speak, he first spoke. “Why are you two following me? I said you should return to Sullivan as you wish.” Trisha was quick to give him a response, “Rudo here refused to go without you.” Rudo had to now speak for himself. “You know how this works Ling, Master Sullivan expects us to come back together so it is not wise that I return alone. Stop going after Stan and let’s return to the others. Together we have a higher chance of beating him than if we are alone. You already saw that we couldn’t catch him alone.” “And who said anything about fighting him again?” Ling asked Rudo because he was not going after Stan to continue the fight but for something else. The question he asked was o
“Look out,” Rudo screamed the name of Trisha as he dived the alien that was about to smite her with its blade, removing focus from the one that was onto him. Now he had two of them facing him as Trisha laid on the ground because he had already been cut in her right leg therefore moving was very difficult.Rudo was onto the top of the alien that he had pushed to the ground and was releasing a series of blows on it even though it was pointless as they had hit those aliens with all they had yet there was no effect. While punching the alien hard, another stabbed him from the back causing him to cease the punch in pain.“Noooooo…” Stan showed up as he rushed the alien that had stabbed Rudo. Even Trisha the main reason why he chose to take on the task which Adoth had given him, he still did not want Rudo dead. Besides the system did not instruct him to save only Trisha, rather he was instructed to save the three of them meaning that if Rudo dies the task was not a success.Meanwhile the ali
Seeing how bad they were and his mission depends on saving the three of them, Stan said, “Ling, quick, we must get them to a hospital.”“No,” Rudo struggled to speak out even in his pain.“Save your strength, bro.” Ling said to him.But he wouldn’t listen as he knew that his time had come. “Leave me here. I can’t make it.”“We are not leaving you.” Ling Tingzhe and Stan Gibson disagreed strongly with him. Their focus was more on him because he was wounded in a more critical place than Trisha.“Thank you Gibson, I wanted you dead yet you are still here trying to save my life. I regret not giving you the chance for us to be friends and in my I wish we could be brothers.” Rudo said his last words as he drew his last breath.“No, no, no,” Ling cried as he shook the lifeless body of Rudo, focusing him to wake up. Aside from Rudo being his greatest competitor when it comes to speed, he was also a great friend and his death would so much affect him. He was not ready to lose him like that. “R
Stan Gibson and Ling Tingzhe were sitting beside the bed where Trisha Graham was lying, they had finished administering treatment to her wounds in the best way they could and she was now sleeping as they waited for her to wake up. They were quite confident that she would because she was now breathing in the normal way which anyone sleeping would. In the course of waiting for her to wake up, Adoth then chose to give Stan the reports of his last task which was also his first legal task, reasoning being that he had to fight against the things that he is to protect earth against. [XP gained.]As he heard the report from Adoth, he expected to hear more, yet none was coming so he had to ask questions to why but he could not do that in the presence of Ling since he was yet to know about the system, so he excused himself from the room, going down stairs where he would freely interact with Adoth with being interrupted by Ling due to curiosity of him speaking to himself.“Adoth, why am I not g
Running was no longer in the mind of Stan else he would have left even they arrived so his supposed movement was not going to be towards to running from them, therefore he decided to act by the command of Sullivan by maintaining his position close to Trisha as he waited to see what their next action would be even though the looks on their faces could already reveal a bit about their next action. “Bond him.” Sullivan said to Oscar. Just as Oscar was approaching Stan to carry out the instruction he was given, Ling Tingzhe came up in front of Stan and said to Sullivan. “Master, please, this is not necessary.”“Will you move aside?!” Sullivan scolded him because his standing in front of Stan caused Oscar to stop.“Ling, you know the consequences of what you are about to do.” Atkinson reminded him as the anger in their faces was waxed high due to what they were seeing and how Ling had turned out to be in favor of Stan instead of the mission which they had left the school for.Ling was st
It was noon when they arrived at the Elite academy again. Entering through the gate of the academy so many students were awaiting their arrival. They had already received Callum Jones earlier in the day when he returned with the corpse of Rudo Walid.Callum Jones had already told them the lie which they were forced to believe. So they all had conceived the same belief and were angrily waiting for Sullivan and the rest of the crew that were sent out to bring back Stan so they would deal with him for killing Rudo or causing his death as the case may be.Just as they were entering the vicinity of the school, a group dragged Stan from the custody of the Sulliva, without asking any question or even responding to their salutation. Aside from being angry at Stan, they were also mad at Sullivan for letting a kid under his watch pass away. And now they would have to answer to the parents of Rudo, explaining to them in proper detail how their son died. Which no parent would take likely. With w
Guzman was not expecting the knock to be from a student and most of all one who had just returned from outside the school premises with Sullivan Nathan. He asked immediately, “What are you doing here Tingzhe? Aren’t you supposed to be resting?” “I can’t rest, sir.” With that response, Guzman quickly concluded that it was because he had lost a friend and probably was seeing his spirit, so he said, “It’s okay, you will get over it in a matter of time.” Ling understood where he was driving with those words and it was totally off from what he was thinking, so he had to state his reason for coming to this office, which was also the reason why he couldn't find himself sleeping. “Actually sir, it is not what you think,” saying that he got Guzman’s attention as he continued. “I really need to see Trisha.” That request gave Guzman a shock as he didn’t expect that from him. “What for?” Guzman asked him, curious to know his reason. “Ummm,” he stuttered. “If seeing her will make you rest, th
Minute passed after Stan said those words, yet there was no response from Adoth and that made him feel very devastated that he saw himself as a failure once again. He was beginning to see himself from a different perspective after getting to know Adoth, the hope he lost was restored by Adoth but now all hopes were lost, and this time he did not only fail himself according to his view, he also saw it as though he failed the entire human race because a task was give given to him.Tears rolled down his cheek as he prepared his heart towards death as he knew that nothing could be done to stop the council from passing negative judgment upon him. He began to think of the afterlife and how he would get to his parents once again.[It is not over yet. Get some rest.] Adoth finally said something to him after he was far into his thoughts, waiting for the morning to come for them the council to do that which they had always longed for.Well, the response came late, it was at a very wrong time a
