He didn’t just lose the few clothes he managed or his worn-out pieces of furniture, all he had kept all these years he could use to find his way back home were lost in the incident.
All, but an old rusty locket he cherished that he found among the trash. It had always been locked and Alonso believed that when he eventually opens it, it will lead him home.
“keep this, I found it on you when I saved you that day, it may lead you home” the voice of the man that saved Alonso came to his mind. This was the last thing the man gave to him before kicking the bucket.
With nothing else left to take he placed the locket close to his heart and over his neck and turned to leave a new life.
Where do I sleep? Was the thought that occupied Alonso's mind. The loss of the things he cherished had made him totally forget he had so much money in his account, and maybe about his date the next day.
He wandered in deep unending thought until he got to a bar, where he decided to waste the rest of his evening and forget his troubles.
“two shots of your strongest drinks please” he ordered as he caressed his locket, with his mind in deep thought, and in seconds he gulped as he squeezed his face and tightened his grip and then ordered more.
“here sir,” the barman said, as he placed more drinks on the counter for him
He kept drinking until he was lost and forgot where he was and passed out.
“sir your bill is a hundred dollars,” the barman said as he tried to wake him up. The noise in the bar was so loud it made Alonso’s head spin in an attempt to stand up after waking up, he ended up missing a step and crashing into a table of some high-profile customers
“Sorry. I am…” he said and burped.
Everyone around felt so disgusted and murmured but Alonso was too wasted to notice and ended up in more trouble when he puked on one of the customers
ma
“soo…sorry” he managed to say as he looked at the man whose shoes he had messed up. The anger written on the man's face was crystal clear and he ordered his men to deal with him but that was a wrong move
With a punch to Alonso's stomach, he felt his stomach growling as his mouth let out another round of puke and this was worse because it messed up the man million dollar suit.
How the night ended for Alonso, he had no idea as he woke up in a dumpster with intense pain all over that he barely felt a bone in his body.
He managed to get out, but only succeeded in falling hard to the ground where he laid to rest and recall last night, but his memories of last night were too blurry
It was barely sunrise, and Alonso could not get any more sleep. Suddenly, the thought of his date with Miss. Perry flashed his mind and he jumped to his feet, ignoring the pain he felt.
With the money he had, he quickly checked into a motel with his card and paid the male receptionist who managed to get him a suit for his date
“I just hope all would be perfect as my life would change for the best,” Alonso said to himself as he dressed up and thought of everything that could go wrong with this date
When he felt everything was perfect with his look, he wore his locket as a finished look, although it didn’t match, he didn’t budge.

“Hey bro” Perry called, as she greeted her brother from behind. He smiled at her, but she responded with a fake smile.
“There is someone I want to meet,” she said as he made an introduction.
“Philip, this is Mr. Alonso Montez. Alonso meet my stepbrother Mr. Philip Montillo” Perry said, waiting for either of them to say a word, but none did. They just kept their eyes locked on each other
“Alonso is my husband-to-be, and I would love it if you both get acquainted,” Perry said since they both refused to say a word, then she left them to take a call, as her phone wouldn’t stop buzzing.
Philip, was the young lad from the club last night that Alonso messed up and the sight of Alonso enraged him as Alonso was being introduced as her brother-in-law.
Alonso on the other hand wondered why Philip looked at him with so much anger in his eyes. With a closer look, he remembered Philip and the incident from last night and began sweating profusely, and his legs shook as though they wanted to leave his body
“Are you guys good?” Perry asked as she came back with her eyes still buried in her phone
“Perry, is this the best you can do? I agreed that you pick your groom and this is what you came up with. This useless and dirty pig?” Philip asked out of anger but was hushed immediately by his sister, who took a few steps backwards
“you have no say in this, tonight Mr. Montez here would be announced as my husband-to-be during the event, and you have to act along,” Perry said with a heavy voice
“little sister…” Philip said as he placed his hands on her shoulder gripping it “don’t you dare try to act smart with me, remember I succeeded in gaining control of your fathers company, don’t push me any further to see what I can do” he said with a smirk
“And you!” he yelled as he turned to Alonso with clear anger in his eyes “I will make you regret this” his words to Alonso sent cold shiver down his spine but he managed to keep his cool until Philip left and he let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Alonso was lost in the little drama portrayed in his presence as thoughts and questions he wished to ask flooded his mind, but he didn’t have the balls to ask Perry any questions, as she fumed in anger.“Do not mind a word he said, he’s just being mean and controlling as he always does” Perry said trying to cover up what just happened but her emotions got the best. She found the closest sit and sat as she sobbed quietly.Witnessing the whole event, Alonso felt some kind of pity for Perry and wanted to console her.“I know I am not a part of your family yet, but would you mind to tell me what’s actually going on? Why would you want to marry someone like me?” Alonso asked Perry in a comforting tone as placed his left hand on her shoulder“you wouldn’t understand” Perry said after a short while“I know but you can still try to explain. I mean your brother already hates me so you can as well just tell me what I am getting into” Alonso requested“Castillo Empire was built by two best frie
He couldn’t imagine not wearing his locket. “here, this was found in the pocket of the jacket you wore the day I found you, maybe it can lead you to your family” those were the last words of the man who saved him so Alonso couldn’t afford to do without itHe went and gave it a good scrub as he had his shower, but there was no difference, but he wasn’t going to change it anyway.Chatters, giggles, and greetings could be heard from the background as well as exotic cars pulling over, as Alonso arrived at the hotel of the event. The whole environment glittered with sparkling expensive white tux worn by the men and a white dinner dress worn by the ladies with a touch of red by both gender It was an all-night party, and if an outfit wasn’t sent ahead of time for Alonso, he would have been the odd one out.Alonso braced up and showed his locket proudly, forgetting the warning of Perry as he walked to the entrance.“good day sir” the security at the entrance greeted and bowed as he walked in
Ever since the man who saved him gave and explained the locket to him he has been trying to open it and find his family but it had always led to a dead endThis has been the only tunnel with light at the end, and he wanted to see where it went. He handed over the locket and watched as the man brought out a very tiny key from the ring he was wearing, and surprisingly it opened.“so wh…wha..what does this mean?” Alonso asked in a broken voice, as he held the locket and saw it open for the first time since he could remember.“it means you are the master, the first and true heir. You are Mr. Castle junior”They both stood in silence for the longest time. The General stood with a bright smile on his lips, and hope on his face, as he locked eyes with Alonso who wore a mixed feeling of confusion and happiness and stood in shock.“General, the event is about to start, and you are needed” a masculine voice from outside said“I will be out shortly, General answered“lay low until after the eve
And to Alonso's surprise, it was James, the same bastard he saw banging the girlfriend from behind.“Perry you and I are made for each other, you know I love you, marry me and not him” James pleaded as he tried to grab Perry’s hand making a fool out of himself“This is my wife, and I would not tolerate any nonsense from you,” Alonso said as he grabbed Perry’s hand before James could get to it. That gesture made Perry smile as she stole a glance from Alonso as he spoke“what about Lyra? I thought you both were a thing, and you loved her?” Alonso asked as he tried to understand why James was always interested in his women.“come on man, Lyra can never be compared to Perry. Perry is way better. Love? She is way below my league, I only used her to cool off stem” James said mockingly at LyraThose words struck deep into Alonso's heart as he remembered the few good times he had with Lyra, and how he loved her so dearly. In a fit of anger, he threw a hard punch at James which threw him to th
Cold air passed by Alonso as he left the room where he spoke to the general and went in search of his supposed wife Perry. His legs shook and his heart beat so fast as though it had run a hundred miles as the thought of his previous life flooded hismind. He wondered if Philip was really as dangerous as he had been taggedA flash of the look on Philip's face and his mother's face crossed his mind as the young servant that gave him preferential treatment spoke about the locket and when Mr. Montillo also spoke about it"Could they have really plotted my death just for wealth? Truly money is the root of all evil" he thought as he kept walking. He came back to reality as he bumped into Philip and his mother"look who we have here, my supposed son-in-law," the lady said with a bright smile that certainly looked fake"What is your pedigree? What qualifies you to marry my sweet angel perry?" she asked as her eyes took a deep scan of Alonso from his head to his toesHearing her interrogate hi
The text Alonso got was from his lover, ex-lover Lyra. The tingling feeling he got in his stomach when he saw the text made him feel as though he had made a grave mistake by accepting Perry's offer as the feeling he had for her was still fresh.Despite the happiness he felt, he tried to control his emotion and make sure his emotions were in check at their best before meeting herShe had sent a text that they meet up, as she claimed she had something important to say to him. It was already past nine, and his leaving would arouse suspicion from Perry and the guards around, so he sneaked out successfully to meet up with LyraAs he approached the venue they were supposed to meet, he began having second thoughts about proceeding with the meet-up. His heart died a million times, as he remembered the night Lyra broke up with him, and the thought of James in her made the matter worse and his head was so messed up that he decided to back off.“Are you about to leave? I thought you just arrived
Alonso sneaked back into the apartment to avoid anyone being aware of his outing especially not Perry. What excuse was he going to tell? “Hey, I went to see my ex” that certainly would be crazyToday felt like the longest day in Alonso's life, but when he recalls a flashback of what his life used to be, he feels a little better. He lay on the bed for just a few seconds to lay off all the tiredness of the day, but nature got a grip on him on the bed and he fell into a deep slumber without changing what he wore or even thinking of showering*****Alonso's nostrils itched from the smell he perceived, making him wake up. It was not just any smell but an aroma of something delicious cooking and coming from his kitchen. He followed the smell and where it came thinking he was also given a personal cook but was stunned to see Perry actively cooking without any sort of guidance from either a cooking manual or YouTube."what the heck are you doing?" he asked stunned as she prepared the dish lik
He wanted to give her the space she wanted and sought, but having a knowledge of women and how it can be so confusing handling them and knowing what they want, he decided to go after her to console her “the food was really nice, how did you learn to cook so well?” he asked in a low tone as he approached her Alonso knew and felt that he had no right to ask a question, especially not in her current mood, so he thought of a way of starting a conversation that was all that came to his mind and surprisingly she answered “it was my mother” she responded, as she turned to his direction with the glass in her hand “she was a great cook, she did love cooking and I learned from her” she added Taking a short pause, she took a sip from the glass and took a deep breath. Buzz buzz… Alonso's body twitched when the phone in his pocket buzzed. He wasn’t expecting any text at the moment and it made him more curious to know who texted but then Perry was speaking he wouldn’t want to look as though he
The days turned into weeks, and Perry and Alonso found themselves facing yet another crossroads in their journey. The storm of doubt had passed, but new challenges emerged, demanding their attention and resilience. One afternoon, as they sat in the study, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of the desk lamp, Alonso broached a subject that had been lingering in the back of his mind. “Perry, I’ve been thinking about our future, about the family we want to build.”Perry’s fingers stilled on the pages of the book she was reading, her gaze shifting to meet Alonso’s with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation. “Alonso, what are you thinking?”Alonso leaned forward, his eyes locking onto hers with intensity. “Perry, I still believe that we can overcome any obstacle together. I want us to consider the possibility of adoption.”Perry’s brows furrowed, a complex mix of emotions crossing her features. “Alonso, adoption is a beautiful option, but it’s also a decision that requires careful c

The breakfast nook had become a hub of intense discussion, a place where they dissected their options and considered the best course of action.Perry’s fingers tapped lightly against her own coffee mug, her brows furrowed in thought. “Alonso, have you prepared a detailed plan for the board meeting? Something that addresses not only your commitment but also the strategic direction of the company?”Alonso nodded, his expression focused. “Yes, I’ve been working on a comprehensive presentation that outlines our recent successes, our plans for growth, and how my role as Chairman is integral to the company’s future.”Perry’s eyes glinted with a determined fire, her voice carrying a note of resolve. “Alonso, we should also consider reaching out to key stakeholders, those who have worked closely with you and can vouch for your leadership.”Alonso’s gaze met hers, g
The night air wrapped around Perry and Alonso like a comforting embrace as they sat in a contemplative silence, their thoughts swirling like the stars above them. The weight of their conversation hung between them, a delicate balance of vulnerability and uncertainty.Alonso’s voice broke the silence, his words measured yet filled with determination. “Perry, I want you to know that my desire to have a family with you isn’t rooted in the need for biological children. It’s about creating a home filled with love, regardless of where that love comes from.”Perry’s eyes met his, a mixture of surprise and curiosity in her gaze. “Alonso, what are you saying?”Alonso’s fingers traced patterns on the armrest of his chair, his gaze fixed on the horizon. “Perry, there are many ways to build a family—adoption, fostering, even just being there for children who need guidance and support. It’s about the love we give and the environment we create.”Perry’s voice held a note of wonder, her heart beginn

The air was filled with a sense of renewal, a promise of a new beginning after the storm that had tested their love.Alonso's voice held a touch of vulnerability as he looked at Perry, his gaze sincere. "Perry, I know we've been through a lot. But I believe that this new day brings a chance for us to rebuild, to start afresh."Perry's eyes met his, a mixture of hope and uncertainty swirling within them. "Alonso, I want to believe that too. But can we really move past everything that's happened?"Alonso's fingers reached out, his touch gentle as he held her hand in his. "Perry, I know that rebuilding trust won't happen overnight. But every step we take, every conversation we have, brings us closer to healing."Perry's voice held a note of vulnerability, her words a whisper in the gentle morning breeze. "Alonso, this storm—it's awakened old wounds,

We need to address this storm that’s tearing us apart.”Perry’s gaze remained distant, her fingers tracing absent patterns on the armrest of her chair. “Alonso, I know we can’t ignore our problems forever. But facing this storm means confronting the painful truth of what’s been hidden.”Alonso’s jaw tightened, his voice laced with urgency. “Perry, I’m not suggesting that we erase the past. I’m suggesting that we find a way to heal, to rebuild, despite the mistakes that have been made.”Perry’s voice was tinged with bitterness, her words a reflection of

But I believe that it’s the only way for us to truly heal and move forward.”Perry’s eyes were fixed on the distant horizon, her voice a mixture of resignation and longing. “Alonso, I want to believe that too. But it’s hard for me to let go of the pain and the doubt that this storm has stirred within me.”Alonso’s fingers brushed against hers, his touch a reassuring anchor. “Perry, I understand that. I understand that I’m the cause of a lot of that pain, and I’m truly sorry for it. But I want us to find a way to rebuild, to rediscover the love that once bound us together.”Perry’s voice was soft, her words
The air grew colder as the night settled in, a reflection of the chill that had crept into Perry and Alonso’s relationship. They remained on the terrace, the tension still palpable between them, like an invisible wall that had yet to be torn down.Alonso’s voice was a mixture of frustration and desperation, his words breaking the silence that had enveloped them. “Perry, I can’t keep living like this. I can’t keep feeling like I’m walking on thin ice every time I try to have a conversation with you.”Perry’s gaze was distant, her voice tinged with a weariness that echoed her emotional state. “Alonso, do you think this is easy for me? Do you think I enjoy feeling like I can’t trust the person I thought I knew?”Alonso’s hands clenched into fists, his voice rising with his growing frustration. “No, Perry, I don’t think you’re enjoying this. But I also don’t think shutting me out is the answer. We need to talk, to face our issues head-on.”Perry’s eyes flashed with a mixture of anger and

"Perry, I understand that rebuilding trust won't happen overnight. But I'm willing to put in the work, to prove to you that my love is genuine."Perry's gaze was intense, her eyes searching his for any sign of the truth she so desperately needed. "Alonso, how can I trust that you won't keep more secrets from me? How can I believe that you won't hide another storm behind closed doors?"Alonso's voice held a note of remorse. "I can't promise that I won't make mistakes, Perry. But I can promise that I'll be honest with you moving forward, even if it means facing difficult truths."Perry's fingers trembled, her voice laced with vulnerability. "Alonso, this storm—the one within me—it's tearing me apart. I don't kno
The days that followed Perry and Alonso’s heart-to-heart were marked by a fragile peace. While they had begun to bridge the gap between them, the echoes of their previous conflicts still lingered in the air, a reminder of the storm that had tested their love. One afternoon, Alonso sat in his study, lost in thought. The weight of the past weeks had taken its toll on him, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that there were still unresolved issues between him and Perry. The sound of footsteps pulled him from his reverie, and he looked up to find Perry standing in the doorway, her expression a mixture of determination and trepidation.Alonso’s voice was gentle as he spoke. “Perry, is everything okay?”Perry took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto his. “Alonso, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, and I believe we need to address something else that’s been lingering between us.”Alonso’s brows furrowed, his curiosity piqued. “What do you mean?”Perry’s voice was steady, her gaze unwavering. “
