AN ACE RETURNS

1: On His Return

It was the D-day, The day when he was supposedly released from jail. Or assumed to be that day when he was finally free from prison where he was presumed to have spent the last past 5 years.

Jace Ban walked down from the Cab which he had just boarded and paid the man. As the driver left, he looked around the street which hadn't changed much in the past few years. The street Where he had stayed for ages now. It was still the same.

He had been away for so long now that he felt strange about seeing it again. But on the other hand, he was happy and overjoyed. Happy for the fact that he was going to reunite with his family once again after years.

And happy that he was going to finally meet his wife again. Or wife-to-be. The lady he loved and whom he didn't get to marry before being sent to jail. He was going to meet her again and get married.

Jace wanted to get something for her. He was enthusiastic about their reunion again so he went to the jewellery shop where he intended to buy her something grand for their reunion.

He was so happy about the idea that he didn't even think about anything else after his discharge but rather thought about getting her something and reuniting with her. He already presumed that she must have missed him. And couldn't wait to meet again.

He walked through the roadside while heading to the huge Jewellery Shop ahead. The most popular jewellery shop in town where you could get the best and most expensive jewellery. And he was planning to get her the best in there.

As Jace Ahead to the shop, a car had run past him. And this car had splashed mud on him!

Shocked, he paused and stared at his clothes. Looking up he watched as the car stopped before the jewellery shop as well. And he watched as the man in this car walked down.

He seemed like a rich influential billionaire or something.. judging from his expensive car and attire. He obviously wasn't a nobody. But that didn't stop Jace from getting pissed at his rude behaviour. He had literally splashed dirt on him and didn't even bother apologising!

He walked up to him to question him, but this man walked down and around his car as he helped a lady walk down from the car.

Jace paused as he caught sight of this lady whom he had helped get down. If his eyes weren't playing tricks on him, It was his fiancée, Nora. The lady whom he loved compassionately and wanted to marry before he went to jail.

The same lady he had in mind on his return and came to buy jewellery for. He was confused and shocked as he stared at her from a distance.

Nora had walked down from the car, dressed in an exquisite dress as she held the Billionaire's hand. She had an endless smile on her face. And both of them had flirted and even exchanged a kiss on the roadside there before they turned to enter the jewellery shop.

Jace was still staring at the scene, shocked and confused "Nora?" He finally called out to her, to make sure that it wasn't a lookalike or something.

And his fears were correct. It was actually Nora and she had turned to look at the man staring at her from a distance. Jace had slowly approached her, shocked.

At first, her expression went cold in shock as she glared at him "You? What... what are you doing here...?" She questioned.

"What am I doing here?" Jace repeated the question, stunned by her ignorance! She didn't even know that today was his release date?! "How did you not know that today was the day I got out?"

She felt awkward for a while as she looked around and met the eyes of the Billionaire. The confused billionaire was staring at both of them.

"Honey, what's going on here? Who is this guy and why is he talking to you like your finance or something? Do you know him?" The Billionaire questioned.

"Know him? Eww! Come on, how can I know someone like him? And how can I intend to Marry him.. that's absurd. You're the only one I love darling" She was outrightly flirting with him before Jace. And it was pissing him off

Clenching his fist, he snapped "What's going on here? What the hell are you doing Nora? How can you deny me and do this to me?" He questioned.

"And why can't I? Who do you think you are? Why should I care about you? Do you think you're someone special or what? Why are you getting ahead of yourself now!" Her pitch was high as she lashed at him.

Jace was surprised. He couldn't believe Nora was the one saying all this.

He was mute for a while as he stared at her, confused.

"Do you not know this weirdo? And what the hell is he doing here?" The Billionaire questioned.

"Don't worry about anything. This jerk here is just my ex from five years ago! I simply dated him for a while after he kept pestering me that he liked him. And when I couldn't bear his annoying ways I broke up with him...And then he kept pestering me until he went to jail" She explained.

"Jail?" The Billionaire stared at Jace who was stunned while staring at the scene before him.

"Yeah. Actually, he killed someone with his car. He went to jail for that. For five years and I can't believe even after years he still returned and stalked me. How uncomfortable!" She expressed as though she was getting shivers down her skin.

Jace's mouth almost dropped as he stared at her in disbelief "Nora... what are you saying...?"

"What?! Am I lying?! You disgusting murderer and stalker! Didn't you go to jail for that?! And here you are Pestering me again! Get lost!" She snapped.
