Meanwhile, Governor Darrus, Seraphina, and Dominic returned to the Hayes family residence.

The Lieutenant Governor, Avo, with his arrogant demeanor, had ruined the welcome dinner for Dominic, turning what should have been a warm occasion into a tense one.

Nevertheless, a spirit of optimism remained among them.

They were confident that Dominic would successfully take control of Morow State.

Their plans were solid, alliances firmly established, leaving no room for Max to turn the tables.

Max had already lost, and Dominic’s vision as the new leader of Morow State was becoming more tangible with each passing moment.

Darrus sat relaxed in the spacious living room.

Thoughts of the future began to fill his mind.

He felt proud of how his family had forged strong ties with Dominic’s influential family in the capital.

With these connections, Darrus envisioned a bright future ahead-opportunities for promotion, greater wealth, and an elevated social status.

He even imagined one day moving to the capital to further his promising political career.

All of it felt so close, just a few steps away.

Meanwhile, Dominic sat across the table, speaking confidently.

“It will only take me a year to manage Morow State better,” he declared, his eyes gleaming with ambition.

“The state’s GDP will soar to $30 trillion. I will bring about significant change.”

Dominic seemed as though he had meticulously planned everything.

Darrus felt assured that with Dominic in control, their future would proceed as planned, perhaps even faster than expected.

With a faint smile, Darrus responded.

“You’re absolutely right, Dominic,” he said, his voice filled with conviction.

“With your capabilities, I believe Morow State will develop much faster than anyone could imagine.”

Dominic turned to Darrus, his eyes bright with confidence.

“There’s no doubt about it. We’re here to support you, Dominic,” Darrus continued.

“Our families have long built a strong bond, and I’m confident that with the political power we’ve established together, we’ll dominate everything.”

“Morow State, the capital-everything will be under our control in no time.”

Seraphina, listening to the conversation, smiled contentedly, fully supporting her father’s words.

After their serious discussion about Morow State’s future, the atmosphere began to ease.

Darrus enjoyed a cup of tea while Seraphina and Dominic sat across from each other on the sofa, conversing in a more relaxed tone.

With a playful smile, Seraphina began to tease.

“Dominic,” she said softly.

"You know, I never let that lowlife Max kiss or fuck me," she added with a sly grin.

Dominic’s eyes lit up immediately, responding to her teasing with a gaze full of desire.

He chuckled lightly, a smug smile forming on his face.

“Of course. I knew he would never be worthy of you. No one compares to me.”

Seraphina laughed softly, enjoying her flirtation.

She knew exactly how to captivate Dominic and command his full attention.

“Of course. No one could ever compare to you,” she replied, looking at him with a gaze full of admiration.

Darrus, sitting quietly in a nearby chair, merely smiled.

His expression showed understanding, as if he was fully aware of what was unfolding between Seraphina and Dominic.

He didn’t want to interrupt them.

Instead, he felt relieved seeing their relationship develop.

Darrus knew that their feelings for each other would bring benefits to their family, and for him, that was more important than anything else.

“Perhaps I’ll head to my room.”

Darrus finally said, hinting it was time for him to leave and give them some space.

He stood up, leaving them with a knowing look, as if giving his blessing for their relationship to progress further.

Once Darrus was gone, the atmosphere in the room shifted.

It became more intimate!

Seraphina stood up, walking slowly toward Dominic with a mischievous gaze.

Without a word, Dominic pulled Seraphina into his arms, their bodies drawing closer.

Dominic’s hand gently stroked Seraphina’s hair, while Seraphina gazed at him with a passionate look.

“I want us to be closer, Dominic.”

She whispered, her voice filled with uncontrollable desire.

Seraphina took Dominic’s hand, leading him toward her luxurious private bathroom.

A large bathtub filled with warm, steaming water and overflowing bubbles awaited them, surrounded by aromatherapy candles exuding a gentle fragrance.

Of course, she had prepared all of this before.

As Dominic and Seraphina became increasingly lost in their intimacy, Dominic couldn’t resist mocking Max.

His face brimmed with arrogance, and his words flowed effortlessly.

“Imagine Max now, sitting in that prison cell,” he said with a light laugh.

“He must be wailing and crying, feeling so unfairly treated, while we’re having fun,” he continued.

Seraphina simply smiled, savoring every word Dominic uttered.

He carried on with even more confidence.

“Perhaps he’s still hoping, praying to get out, but that will never happen.”

However…

They had no idea that while they were caught up in their passion, Max’s situation in prison was completely different from what they imagined!

Helen took a short breath, then formed a thin smile that did not reach her eyes.“I am sorry,” she said in a calm tone she forced, though the irritation was clear in her voice. “Is it really that important for you to know my boss’s name?”Max looked at her without blinking. “Yes, of course it is important,” he replied flatly. “What is wrong with wanting to know it?”Helen let out a soft chuckle, as if she had heard something amusing. “For what purpose?” she asked back. “Even if you know my boss’s name, your wife’s contract will still be terminated. That cannot be undone.”She tilted her head, looking Max up and down, her gaze full of judgment.“Besides, who do you think you are?” she continued sharply. “Do you have any influence? No, you do not, right?”Aurora stiffened. Those words felt like a slap aimed not only at Max, but at her as well. She could feel her chest tighten again, that sense of being small and helpless that she had been trying to hold back. But Max smiled instead. It

Helen’s firm steps suddenly stopped right in front of the door. Her hand was still gripping the handle, her back stiff, as if Max’s words had just held her body in place. “What are you talking about? Of course I am sure about this decision,” Helen said. “But you do not look sure,” Max said. Max could read the discomfort on Helen’s face. In truth, Max did not really care about this job itself. He was more than rich enough to support Aurora’s life without any problem. But what made Max angry was the fact that Aurora truly loved this career, and this agency had started to treat his wife badly. Aurora looked sad, and anyone who made his wife sad was not someone Max would ever let go. “How much?” Max’s voice was heard again, this time deeper and more pressing. “How much money did they pay you that you dared to act this unethically?” Helen did not turn around right away. Her shoulders rose and fell slightly, her breath held for a moment before she finally turned her body and lo

Two days after the incident at the park, Aurora woke up with a pounding feeling in her chest that she could not explain. That day was supposed to be a day she had been waiting for a long time. For the first time, she would attend a prestigious art performance in Vesula City, an event often called a golden gate for young artists. Her dress was neatly prepared, her shoes were placed beside the bed, and the official invitation from Star Entertainment was still tucked inside her small bag.Max stayed by her side since morning. He did not talk much. He only made sure Aurora ate breakfast and did not forget to bring all her things. On his face, the calm he always wore was still there, although his eyes sometimes scanned the surroundings with a caution that was almost invisible. The Star Entertainment building stood grandly in the middle of the city, its glass walls reflecting the pale sunlight of Vesula. As soon as they entered, Aurora immediately felt a strange atmosphere. There was no war

Jale stared at Gerald with a frown, clearly not satisfied with the earlier answer. “What do you mean he is not an ordinary man?” he asked. “Is he an official? Or a police officer?”Gerald slowly shook his head. “I am not sure,” he answered honestly. “He showed no identity at all. No card, no badge. But one thing is certain, he is very skilled in combat. Not just good at fighting. The way he moves, his reactions, and his calm attitude are not things someone can learn in a short time.”Jale let out a short laugh, full of disdain. “That is all?” he said while waving his hand. “If he is only good at fighting, that means nothing. He is not an official and not an influential person. So it does not matter to me if you failed to kill Aurora,” Jale continued. He took a relaxed sip of his drink. “I still have many other ways.”Those words made Tina even more uneasy. Her face turned pale, her fingers gripping the glass tightly. “Jale,” she said with a slightly trembling voice, “this is not abo

Gerald shook his head quickly, almost in panic.“No. No,” he said in a broken voice, trembling. “I do not want to feel it.”Max looked at him for a few seconds, then nodded slowly. “Alright. If you do not want to feel what it is like to be hit with this wooden beam, that is good,” he said calmly. “I will not do it.”Max then shifted his gaze toward Amor, who was lying unconscious, and Hamong, who was still not awake.Max’s eyes were cold and sharp, yet controlled. “Take your two friends,” he continued. “And tell your boss, or whoever sent you.”Gerald swallowed hard, his heart feeling like it was about to jump out of his chest.“Tell him that next time, he should not hire weak assassins like you.”Gerald did not answer. He only nodded quickly, then moved closer with trembling steps. His body shook nonstop, not only from fear, but from the pressure of Max’s presence. There was something about the man that made his survival instinct scream to get away as far as possible. With great effo

Max paused for a moment, then answered in a calm voice, without extra emotion. “I am Max.”That was all. No title, no threat, no long explanation. Yet somehow, that short answer made Hamong and Gerald feel a pressure they could not understand. The way Max stood, the way he looked at them, and the unnatural calm he showed after disabling Amor so quickly were already proof enough.Hamong let out a rough breath. “Alright,” he finally said. “We believe in your fighting ability.”Gerald quickly turned to Hamong, clearly shocked. He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to ask why Hamong suddenly gave in, but he stopped himself. He chose to stay silent and wait for what their team leader would do.Hamong continued in a lower tone. “We will not disturb your wife again. You can leave now.”Max looked at Hamong for a few seconds, as if making sure there was no lie. Hamong’s face looked calm, even slightly lowered. Gerald stood beside him, silent and alert.“Alright,” Max replied briefly. He then t
