-7-

“I do not believe it. How could that be?”

“Welcome to our house, Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Ineke, Mondy, Macrus and the others. I can’t possibly name you one by one, right?” Andreas said.

Everyone who was in front of the door of Andreas and Cindy’s house only had two facial expressions, between feeling annoyed because they couldn’t believe that an ignorant scavenger like Andreas was able to have a house that was even bigger and more luxurious than the Bowie family, and they were very amazed at how the house was magnificent and luxurious.

“Whose house is this that you are borrowing just for a word called showing off, is showing off by begging and stepping on someone else’s house a matter of pride for you now? Or maybe the painting you gave us was a painting you stole or borrowed from someone.” Mr. Bowie immediately mocked Andreas and Cindy, even before he actually entered Andreas’ residence.

"Of course I bought it in cash, I'm not in arrears or paying off this house in installments." Andreas immediately showed the house ownership letter along with his signature and clear name.

Seeing this, Mr. Bowie became even more embarrassed, it felt like he was reluctant to come in but he was already here.

“Uncle, what are you worried about? Don't you feel happy now that Andreas has become a rich man? In the past, when he was a trash collector and married to Cindy, you always said inhumane things, said all kinds of bad things and kept insulting Andreas and Cindy. Now that both of them are rich, what more do you want? Doesn't this mean that the Bowie family doesn't have to feel embarrassed anymore if one of your children is poor?" Macrus also spoke. He and another group immediately entered, starting to see the entire interior, room by room, of Andreas' residence.

“Crazy, how much does a residence this magnificent cost, Andreas? In fact, I dream of having one and I think it is just a dream!" Macrus exclaimed.

“Only one hundred billion dollars I think is enough for an investment.”

“What?!” Everyone there was shocked.

“After you bought a painting worth billions of dollars, now you bought a house worth a hundred billion dollars. For a trash collector like you, does that make sense?” Mondy immediately exclaimed.

“Do you think it’s impossible for us to get all this? The wheel’s turning, Mondy. Those who are at the bottom won’t always stay at the bottom, right?” Cindy intervened.

Mondy chuckled, apparently Cindy’s wise-ass words really made him sick. “I don’t believe at all that an ant turns into an elephant in just an instant. Do you have a business? Are you trying to earn more money? Remember, Cindy, I know that your job is just staying at home all day, taking care of the house and waiting for your trash collector husband to come home, while Andreas only works by collecting trash and his wages can only buy one loaf of bread. So how can a family with such a small income be able to do everything?”

“Don’t you think that maybe Andreas had a kind acquaintance, and then he was invited to do a business that would be equally profitable?”

“Yes, and I just believe that his kind friend Andreas is the head of the mafia, a gang of robbers, or something else. It could be that Andreas stole, robbed, cheated, sold drugs or even killed someone to get a very large reward.” Mondy still denied all the facts before him.

“Can we bet on what you said, Mondy? Let’s prove my wealth to the authorities, if what you say is true, then I will release all my money, but if what you say is wrong I will not hesitate to report you to the police on charges of unpleasant behavior and spreading fake news. Are you ready for that?”

“You-“

Ineke immediately grabbed Mondy’s hand, it would be useless to argue with Andreas now. The fact that if Andreas was able to answer the challenge regarding painting, then he will be able to buy a magnificent and expensive house can no longer be denied. So it was useless to say a thousand times that all this was nonsense.

“Never mind, stop arguing. Didn’t we come here to receive an invitation from Cindy and her husband?”

“However, is—”

“I don’t like it either, I was surprised too. But at least I don’t have to embarrass myself like you and Dad who continue to deny this reality, making it so embarrassing for you guys!” Ineke answered.

Mondy rubbed his face roughly, then he looked away. Ineke took a deep breath and joined the dining room.

“Please enjoy all the dishes, oh yes, did you also bring food from home? You can put it on the table too, we can eat it together.”

All the most expensive dishes from the world-class seven-star restaurant were all on the table. Even the family dining room was transformed into a VVIP room in a very expensive and incomparable restaurant. Moreover, the interior design of Andreas’ dining room was truly so luxurious, the entire room was covered in expensive marble with touches of real gold which was so luxurious and charming. The elongated circular dining table continued to rotate and displayed food worth at least hundreds of millions of dollars on display.

“Um, no. We didn’t bring any food, we didn’t even bring any cutlery. What Mr. Bowie said you really don’t need to think about, isn’t it just a joke?”

They had actually prepared a lot of food and even their cutlery in the car. But, seeing all the dishes served by Cindy so expensive and delicious certainly made everyone feel really embarrassed. They couldn’t possibly embarrass themselves, right?

“That’s good, if that’s the case, please sit down and enjoy this dish.” Cindy offered.

Everyone immediately sat down, looking at the dishes on the dining table greedily. While the Bowie family was completely embarrassed, they sat while turning their faces away from the meal.

“What’s wrong, Father, Mother, Ineke and Mondy? Enjoy the meal, I’m sure you don’t always eat expensive food like this, right?” Andreas quipped. Cindy immediately elbowed her husband, but she smiled too.

Mr. Bowie’s hands were tightly clenched into fists, he really felt like he had no self-esteem at all right now.

“Yes of course. We can only eat food like this when there is a dinner for Dad’s business colleagues. You don’t know because you were never invited, right?” Mondy taunted him again.

“It’s okay if you don’t invite me, Cindy and I can afford it ourselves.”
