Ansel’s shock was evident as he exclaimed, “Fifty thousand dollars?! That’s outrageous!” His words were directed towards the shop attendant, who he had assumed to be the owner. “This is pure robbery!” he added.

Chris on the other hand was impatiently waiting for Ansel to get humiliated.

He decided to find something to say in order to fuel the conversation.

The shop owner’s gaze conveyed a subtle accusation as she scrutinized Ansel.

She figured out that he wasn't going to pay a dime.

Compared to Chris, Ansel’s casual look and modest clothing made him seem from a different, more ordinary social class..

She should have never worn the wrist watch for him in the first place.

The shop owner wasted no time in reaching for the telephone, her eyes never leaving Ansel. “Call the police right away,” she commanded, her tone authoritative.

Ansel could hardly believe his ears, was the woman really going to arrest him for a crime he didn't commit?
