The Manipulation Game

Laurel was astonished, what the hell was Adonis talking about? Her facial expression reverted into a confused stare, maybe she didn’t very much hear what he said.

“What was that?” She asked, staring at Adonis, she was absolutely perplexed.

“You heard me, Laurel. It’s not a big deal, it’s a fake marriage,” Adonis responded, like it was nothing. He moved his chair forward and leaned on her desk.

Still bewildered, Laurel scoffed; what kind of a man was he? He kept doing and saying things that were completely inappropriate. And the worst part was it felt completely normal to him.

“I need you, Laurel. I’m begging. I’m a proud man, Laurel, you’d never ever see me beg anyone this way, not to talk of my sister’s employee,” Adonis pleaded.

He was pleading but he didn’t really sound like he was pleading.

“I can’t help you, Adonis. I mean why the hell would you want to fake a marriage?” Laurel hadn’t gone past her bewilderment. Even though there was no way in hell would she do such a thing
