The Two Truths

Tony was confused at first, he wasn’t sure why Laurel was so concerned about Lilian’s breakup; was that how deep their relationship was? He thought not, something was going on.

“Well, sorry for her, but should that concern you so much?” Tony asked, he didn’t need to hold back how he felt about Lilian now. Laurel had replaced her in his heart and now he was starting to resent her, his mood changes just by hearing her name.

Laurel sighed, he was right; Lilian breakup shouldn’t make her get lost in thought unless there was more to it. She hesitated, when a waiter came and cleaned up the spilled Chapman from the table.

“There’s something you should know, Tony.” Laurel began, staring into Tony’s eyes but couldn’t hold it for long. She could see the curiosity that filled his eyes and the concern.
